Still got a couple of cycle shops in Crewe, Triky Mate,  and I ain't referring to 'Alfords either wink,  and I still see the occasional tricyclist  doing a fair few MPH  on the better roads along with one of those reclining  bods ( Asking for trouble I reckon !! )

Yeh, pity they don't use the cycle paths that cost millions to build.

They haven't spent millions on cycle paths round here. A few gallons of Dulux in the gutter does not equate to a feasible cycle route.

Some of the "excuses?" for not using our quite good cycle paths are to many pedestrians?,  they do not allow us to make progress as roads do, not kept clear of overhanging foliage,? when asked if they had reported the overhanging foliage not one in a survey by our local council said yes they had ?frown,

Maybe not in Hampshire , but in Yorkshire they have. But the Lycra brigade and the normal cyclists much rather ride on the road adjacent to the cycle path.

Could be something MAYBE to do with Council Cut-Backs ,not road sweeping enough ,,TOO much debris causing punctures/accidents etc etc !! undecided.

    Ah memories...

I remember fishing with a stick and cotton as the line with a worm tied on as bait and having a jam jar to put the sticklebacks in!

Being told off by my mother after an enjoyable day spent sat in the road playing with melting tar and lolly sticks and having the tar removed with margarine!

Spending the school holidays in the local park down the hollows damming the stream nand drinking our Jubbly drinks and eating our arrow bars and fruit salad chews!

Using a broken chalk ornament to draw hopscotch squares on the pavement and then using the chalk as a marker!

Spending the day lay on my front covered in calamine lotion after getting sunburnt!

Ah memories I could name many more!

My father's old Morris 8 Series E, DMM 8. Imagine what that plate alone would be worth now. I think he sold the car for about £15.
