Like many others, Christmas plans to pot! The announcement is  right but wish it had been sooner. Too late now to order food delivery or click n collect, so it means I've got to food shop, just a few days before Christmas when I really don't want to enter a supermarket..

Need to re open one of the multitude of closed Covid threads to allow folks to chat again really, otherwise Rowena’s useful Club information posts will get lost?

Not criticising anyone for any post by the way😁 Just seems a better idea to me.

Well at least the Scottish government have taken the decision to close the border with England and a lock down from boxing day, so that will stop people from shooting over the border, and of  course curtail all hogmanay celebrations.laughing

I think this thread needs to be kept clear of any general COVID discussions and used only for posts relating to the title i.e. Government information and sites.

I'll lock this now and start a new thread in General Chat for discussions on COVID in general but it will be closely monitored.

It would be better to lock it, I know we've all added comments but the official club posts are getting lost. Rowena's last night isn't readily visible and there will be gov.uk updates soon which will clarify the club's position. I presume if it isn't locked the best place to find updated info will be reached by clicking on the club logo at the top of the page which takes everyone to the home page.

Following the UK Government budget announcement on 3 March 2021, we will continue to pass on this saving to our members by reducing Club campsite prices in line with the recent VAT reductions. This means that you’ll only pay 5% VAT on all Club campsite stays until 30 September 2021, then 12.5% VAT from 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022. All you need to do is book your holiday as normal, and the discount will be applied at the appropriate rate when you pay on site. Thank you for your continued support of the Club and we’re looking forward to welcoming you back on site soon.

Following the recent Government announcements, our Club and Affiliated campsites in Wales will reopen on 27 March 2021 for people who live in Wales only. Unfortunately due to the restrictions, our toilets and showers and other shared facilities on campsites in Wales will not be open until further notice, but fresh water and wastewater facilities will be available.

We’re really looking forward to welcoming you back onto our UK Club campsites very soon.

Based on the latest Government guidance, we are unfortunately unable to open our toilets or showers and other indoor shared facilities (excluding receptions) when our Club campsites in England reopen on 12 April. The provisional date for reopening these facilities is currently 17 May 2021, however this will be dependent on Government guidance. Service points and waste disposal facilities will be available and open for use, operated in line with Government guidelines. Keep up to date with the latest information on our website www.caravanclub.co.uk/uk-holidays/reopening-our-campsites/

It's nearly time for our sites in England to reopen!! laughing

Also from 12 April onwards, we anticipate that people who live in England will also be able to stay on our Club campsites in Wales. Visit https://www.caravanclub.co.uk/uk-holidays/reopening-our-campsites/ for more information.

    Test and Trace

I wanted to let you all know that from 12 April our Club campsites in England and Wales will require all members and guests over the age of 16 to provide Test and Trace (or UK country variants) information. If you already have the NHS Covid-19 app, you will be asked to use this on arrival at the campsite for all party members over the age of 16. If you do not have the app, you will be provided with a log sheet to complete. For more information visit https://www.caravanclub.co.uk/uk-holidays/reopening-our-campsites/. We are awaiting further Government guidance about Test and Trace at our Club campsites in Scotland and Northern Ireland.

As you will be very much aware, the situation with COVID-19 has changed in the last couple of weeks with the rise in cases of the Omicron variant. This has led to some restrictions being reinstated in the UK, and changes to the procedures in place for overseas travel. For the latest travel updates visit our COVID-19 guidance page HERE
