Due to the firebreak lockdown announced today in Wales I was cancelling my booking for Cirencester when I read Rowena’s post. Can I ask why when you cancel a booking it appears you have to select the reason from drop down menu & COVID-19 restrictions isn’t an option? And you must select a reason to be able to cancel. I‘ve just clicked on not required. I trust that I won’t get an automated reminder from our club about late cancellation rules!!!

This must be one of the quickest announcements made by the Club that was incorrect within 10 minutes and up to the time of posting is still incorrect. If you access the information page and click on Wales it doesn't include the notice of national lockdown.
I was expecting an amendment this afternoon but as usual Wales seems to be afterthought for most English based organisations.

I wonder if the Club has someone dedicated to making sure that Covid advice is bang up to date via all available media? 🙂

For once I won't be critical of an announcement from the Club being wrong since trying to keep abreast of the rapidly changing different laws, advice and recommendations is akin to trying to herd farts.

In actual fact they were correct in their original post but as the National Lockdown in Wales was headline news the criticism was directed at the poor response time to such news.
If they want to keep their members informed of potential closure of sites then someone needs to be given the task of keeping an eye on breaking news.

Rowena posted -
"If you are affected by these new Government announcements and are not able to stay at one of our campsites, and you already have a booking, please cancel or amend your booking to allow other members to benefit from the availability."
and I'm sure that will apply to Wales as well.

Where ever they put it, be it here, the information page or an alert when you open the site, it needs to be up to date. Currently although the sites in Wales are shown closed on the site booking pages for the announced circuit break, the information page still does not mention it.🤔

I think the problems with communication in these times is that the "personal touch" when staff were in "instant"contact with each other (same office next desk)is now via remote working ie from home , i understand 100? EGH staff,
We have found it the same with other companies, as they admit it now will take longer for a reply as staff are now working remotely

This information page doesn't.
Scroll to the bottom, sites with 100% grass pitches. There are also a lot of other mistakes on it, such as no service pitches at Hawes and 94 at Castleton. All of which I pointed out and was told would be corrected.

Has it been sanitised first?

Hi everyone, with regards to the latest Welsh Government announcement yesterday of a national lockdown from Friday 23 October 2020 until 9 November 2020, all our Club campsites in Wales will be closed during this time in accordance with the restrictions. We are following the changing advice very closely and hope to reopen some campsites after restrictions are lifted.
If you are due to stay at one of our Club campsites in Wales over these dates, please cancel or amend your booking as appropriate.
For specific local measures guidance for Wales please visit gov.wales/local- lockdown

Ah well, let's put it down to the rapidly changing events and the speed required to communicate with members. Only 27hrs and they still get it wrong, does anyone proof read these statements? I think it's a bit optimistic that Welsh all year sites will reopen any time soon, but let's hope.
