There’s separate guidance, as up to date as possible JV for each individual country of the UK. It tells you what is happening for each individual part, not just Club related by the way.

I received notification of the reopening of my golf club from the end of March...and that includes the changing rooms with toilets, showers and changing areas.....so not dissimilar to shower blocks on a camp site and definitely as busy.
I emailed my MP ages ago to enquire about this inconsistency and he wasn’t aware so has forwarded it to the minister!. I still await a reply but it would seem somewhat favouritism to golfers compared to campers!

This begs the question has the golf club got it wrong or are 'bending' the rules? But there is a difference and that is the golf club is not the primary place of ablution for its members. For many using club sites the block becomes this. The other thing to consider is that club toilets/showers are open all day and night (apart from that cleaning time which does have implications for what some may call adequate 24hr cleaning regimes.) At the end of the day such restrictions are there to reduce infection rates as best possible.

This was broached on another forum but no guidance or legislation differing to that currently available was forthcoming, no supporting guidance for the opening of golf clubs facilities in this way was provided by government or any others. The consensus of opinion was that some clubs were jumping the gun and hoping and praying for a change in direction.

If 20,000 people can watch a ball being kicked around a stadium on May 15th, mingle in close proximity and go into a crowded toilet at half time, then why cannot I have a pee on a club site or CL?

Goodness, I’ve not studied toilet usage in our Asda😆

My local sailing club's changing/toilet facilities are not available either when things start to re-open on 12/4.

Thankfully we live in a society which aims to protect us from the foolish and selfish. We have seen to our detriment several times this past year what happens when this minority just do their own thing against and despite the warnings and legislation. Let the science lead and 'normality' should return, hopefully sooner than later.

Hi mickey, as mentioned people must decide for themselves what they feel comfortable with however, as many sites were full to the brim last summer and there was no affect on cases what are we to take from that?
The site we used, for a club rally, had an intensive cleaning regime including a one hour deep clean with a fogging machine and choosing what time you used them you could avoid 'crowds'.
My experience may differ from others, but I do not see lots of cuddling with strangers in facility blocks-I avoid those sorts of site!

I do understand this, but for a variety of reasons things went very wrong between last summer and new year. In order to reduce transmission action was taken and it appears to have worked. All Im saying is this road map out must be very carefully managed. I just feel that as practically all of us have facilities on board we can do our bit to minimise any chance of further lockdowns, illness or deaths to selves, family and others. I'm sure, we can do this and get back to 'normality' sooner than later and stay out of lockdown.

That’ll be the ‘Christmas effect’ after folk being told to have a great Christmas with family to then have it pegged back to 1 day. . .The genie was already out of the lamp by then🤷🏻♂️☹️

We had a less virulent strain of the virus around last summer.
I've used public loos when out and about but they generally are more open to the air. Last year I saw caravan site facility blocks with closed doors and windows, I hope, if they do open up that at least they will have better air circulation. People queuing up waiting to unlock doors or press key pads to get into warm shower blocks seemed to go against the "fresh air" principle of keeping the virus at bay.

You're absolutely right R2Bs. The warning signs were there from early autumn when folk started to relax their efforts too early and then, due to pressures, we were given permission to spread the thing further to all our detriments. Let's hope the lessons have been learnt. Unfortunately a minority will spoil it for us unless we hold our resolve. I don't like it one bit at all but I understand the collective need.

Just out of interest OH is in touch with a local caravan site, we get the occasional take away from their cafe and they sell fishing permits for his local angling club etc and although they are opening up on April 12th their facility areas will be closed until further advised. You can see their Covid notice on this LINK.
