Yes i remembered after i had posted that you were a Colapz man, we use their hoses but not yet invested in buckets etc as they are quite expensive. We are still running a 5 berth caravan, from Gkids days, so have loads of room and i use wastemaster to wedge my bike inside the caravan. Need to downsizeundecided

Had this conversation with OH over breakfast, I think after the Xmas fiasco BJ will be very cautious about opening up for Easter especially if the long range weather forecast is favourable, can you imagine the chaos. Watch what happens next weekend 17 degs forecast and the children on half term.  undecided

Agree Rufs, they are expensive..... hoping not to buy them again! 😃  One of our issues is that we have plenty of room in the caravan, but there's no leeway these day for the weight of stuff you can put in the van.  We've already had a 'collapsed axle' replaced 'as a measure of goodwill', but I'm as sure as I can be that we didn't overload the caravan.

I have to say, since we've put more stuff in the car, I've found it much easier to set up on site.... it's been quite a revelation - everything is at waist height from the car tailgate - no searching underneath beds for stuff.  I have found it much easier to unload from the car.

A 4 birth is just the right size for two of us.... 🙂  Hope you don't regret downsizing - and with the older van there's less worry about overloading.. 😃

I see that NS in Scotland has firmly advised against anyone booking holiday accommodation in Scotland over Easter.

I hope all of the Govs agree on a coordinated plan.

I note that Wales FM is looking at easing his lockdown ,as with the small ,less than 3.5million population , vacinations  are going well surprised

The problem is that a lot of tourism in North Wales comes from the North West & Midlands areas of England. Not normally a concern but unless plans are duplicated the area is likely to see plenty of rule breakers, which is what has happened in the past when Wales and England lockdown dates differ.

Seems to me that the 4 home countries would ideally have just one programme between all of them,.

Then we would know how far and where we could go on any given date.  With differing 'opening up' strategies confusion will undoubtedly reign.

all the leading newspapers today giving a run down on what the "get out of jail" road map will look like, but did not see any specific reference to caravan/camping/mhing sites being opened, it does mention "self catering lets" but that is about as close as it gets, or did i miss something?.

I see the boss of BA this morning claimed that once we have all had the jab we will be safe as there has not been one case [worldwide] of a vaccinated person [who catches the virus] passing it on to another.  [So we are all safe to travel].

Plus it’s a well known fact that bosses of company’s have only ever had employees/customers welfare at the top of their agenda. I’d prefer the science to tell me that ED before I book a flight👍🏻

Our first possible break co-incides with the April/May booster jabs, (no dates for us yet) I would imagine many will be the same and there'll be a lot of chnaged plans if anything does actually go ahead. I also presume there'll be a big tranche of younger people who need to be around for their first jabs.

We hope to get something in during April, got a Club Site booked for a mid week break. Only hour and half away. We will be juggling fitting in three different second jab recalls, hopefully first one before end of March. But it’s why we only have Club Sites booked. That no deposit, cancel up to three days prior is a bonus.

When we booked our first jab we automatically got a date for the second one. This date is the Tuesday of the first week that we should be away, booked late last year.

I straight away got onto the vaccination booking service to ask if our date could be brought forward by about three or four days. "No" was the answer, "there are no appointments available." We were told to have our first jab and then phone again. This we did with the same answer as previously. They said have the second jab  when we returned home. This would make it over thirteen weeks from the first jab. The person at the booking service said that they would have to check with their supervisor if this would be OK. One person said it wasn't but a second said it was, (who is correct?), but in any case no booking slots had been released yet and so phone back again in a couple of weeks or so.

I think we have pretty much resigned ourselves to scrapping the first week and just go away for our second week, that is if Boris says we can go at all. If we do have to cancel the first week I'll let you all know just in case anyone wants a week away in Cornwall on a CL and can't find anywhere with vacancies.

BJ ,will be very worryingly watching the covid rates , in this area the rate per 100.000 seems to have stalled at quite High levels

It would not be a surprise if another "tier" system may well be on the table

You don't think it might have been leaked to the press lobby by some well meaning advisor so that it could be floated in the papers to gauge public opinion and then the message adjusted accordingly?

Or is that just me being cynical? wink

We're the same - we have a cottage booked near Matlock for the first week in May. It's carried over from last year and was chosen to fit in with the annual Irish Setter rescue sponsored walk which is unlikely to take place now anyway. Our first jabs were on Saturday so assuming that's the case for the second one we'll either set off later on the first day or come home early on the last. Since we can't get in till 5pm and have to leave by 10am it won't affect us greatly. Will just be glad to be able to get away! smile

I wouldn't count on it Moulesy, our first jabs  were on a Monday, or second jabs, booked at the time, are on a Tuesday.

Our second jabs were on the first day of our holiday. So Only a little revision was required. Fortunately the first day is now only a short drive from storage to Clumber Park site, rather than 200 miles to Berwick. If I get similar side effects to the first jab, I don’t think I would have managed that.😀

Our surgery are only jabbing on Wednesdays and Saturdays though. If it was the Wednesday we might look to change it, but, whatever, the jabs will take precedence. smile

Not knowing whether OH will react again to the booster we'll probably have to give up our first planned break and stay at home (if and when we hear the dates!) It's slightly inconvenient not knowing the dates but it's a minor issue.

    I some what agree Goldie,

But then when our age group  have been unable to get away most of last year; and still not sure if the lockdown is going to be lifted enough for us too much this year ? We,  as others,  have booked some sites just in case we can,  and with age comes for many health problems.  ,so its a case of do it while we cansurprised

Ps and with the expected staycation boom expected to even higher this year we as other I expect now have a tour booked and hopefully without the stress of trying to put one together if and iWhen the cork comes out of the bottle as the DG has saidcool
