It wouldn’t be as secure PD, it takes a long while traveling for grapes to come from Egypt or Peru, yet maintain a freshness🤷🏻‍♂️☹️. It’s always wise to mix it but I was thinking of more regular & controllable. It only takes a bad storm at sea to disrupt future stock.

Because they will be Given one at most establisments, even when i was at our local hospital (cardio dept) a couple of weeks ago it was very noticable the number of people attending appointmentswho did not have masks with them then  expected to be supplied from hospital stocksundecided

Our Grandaughter(visited us yesterday after work with mask on) who is now working at Tesco while away from UNI has said the amount of customers, not having masks on and claiming "i am exempt" has dropped ,since the latest varient of the virus has taken off and she says security staff say some are regulars? yell

It may be with some of the older generation JV, those that won’t wear masks & take chances with others but it’s a choice. Most of us have not seen their children/grandchildren for months. Most of us recognised the ‘family bubble’ thing as a weak point to be exploited by the virus & ignored the bubble.

    Guilty as charged laughing

Around August I wen to Ada and having left mask in car went into foyer and bough a pack. I have forgotten to take mask out of pocket and wear about 3 weeks ago. Man on the door reminded me.

I have to attend hospital in a couple of weeks and the appointment specifically says " Upon arrival, all visitors will now be provided with a face mask to wear and will be expected to comply by wearing it for the duration of their visit ". Maybe patients have been turning up with face coverings which have not been suitable for minimising spread of the virus.

OH did the same the other day, now need a mask in every pocket, bag or whatever just in case.

I'm sure you're right JVB, mask wearing has suddenly become more serious, I see your area has "rocketing" infections. Stay safe.

That’s interesting, I didn’t know that. I thought it would be cost restricted but not so👍🏻. It could be the way forward for sure👏🏻👏🏻, I’d pay a premium for fresher food.

I dont see a French conspiracy in this at all.

Not even a tiny bit? It is hard not to, the French do not change their spots. They want their gâteau et mange-le just like the Brits.

There are/were over 4000? comercial vehicles stuck this side of the channel and i suspect not many less in France because of the "Knee Jerk" decision by the French ,

Which really shows how little chance of reducing carbon emmisions we and the EU have in the future,,unless the all govenments wake up to the need for long distance freight to be all containers and put on trains and hauled as most in europe, and if plans ever get put into operation in the UK by electric locomotives for distribution from area "euroports" as Doncaster and others

No I have read and perhaps with wider understanding. I have no axe to grind.

As far as the issue of disposing of masks I can well behave it just as some kids will drop rubbish and some won't. A little daily rubbish builds up along the same route.

With so called adults some do also. If a number use the same route daily it also builds up.

"At the same time, Sweden has introduced an entry ban on arrivals from Denmark mainly in a bd to reduce the risk of COVID-19 spread in shopping centres and restaurants in the southernmost county of Sweden, Skåne County, which connects to Capital Region, Denmark by the Öresund Bridge"

I was an HGV driver in the days before sleeper cabs and when sleeper cabs 1st came into being. Believe you me the sleeper cabs were like palaces compared to some of the hovels that passed as transport digs.

We used to spend a full week away from home in those days. Leave home Monday morning and only come home Saturday morning.

I bet the ones in white vans don’t use digs. They will use the back of the van. The nature of the jobs can mean they are away from home for weeks. It has just come at the wrong time before Christmas. And you can bet that Macron is making a meal of it

I agree. There that surprised you. Consider it a Christmas present, without setting a precedent.😀

I read that UK virologists have identified as many genomes of virus as the rest of the world put together. It appears that, for context, Wales has identified more of these than France has since the Pandemic started. So it's no use just blaming the UK as these scientists admit that the strain could easily have been brought into the country seeing as the first cases were found in Kent.

According to a report in one of our local rags , this mutant strain was first flagged up from a test taken on 20th Sept. Doesn't say if from a resident or "visitor" to the county. If true it seems to have taken a mighty long time to act upon it .

Many will have been working in the hundreds of car valeting services we have in the UK most owned and managed by eastern europeans, and most of them are heading back home because they have had to close the valeting services down due to covid-19. A raid not that long ago in our area found 4 that had been rough sleeping on a mattress in the back of a transit and working 10 hour shifts in the car washundecidedowner was driving around in a top of the range Audi yell
