I am in a pick you up anywhere & get it fixed club SB. It’s not lost on me at all as I’ve traveled in taxis too-I wear a mask, driver wears a mask he’s in front right I’m in back left. He also had the slidy window shut. I paid by PayPal. Not lost on me at all SB👍🏻. Always plan ahead & show consideration for others.

+1, we did the same as Europe when the world began ramping up the infections during Covid 1. It’s the intelligent thing to do👍🏻. It’ll be good. We need Oxford Zeneca to weigh in on the side of good now👍🏻

The situation with the latest mutation of the virus here is not good ,it has gone from 117 positives last Monday to 305 yesterday and other areas round here are even worse
So it is more vital than ever for every one to ignore the those who still are still in denial, and take every precaution to protect yourselves
I have noticed when out with Rosa that some have ignored> the Tier 4 restrictions in this area, unless they were saving electric as several houses had all the windows closed and no lights on at 2000hrs last night.,and one at least was not there as their special occasions use Bentley was not on their drive
And as said on the new this morning more areas are on the brink of moving up to tiers 3and 4
Stay Safe you all

It would be good if the OAZ vaccine was approved soon. It would also be helpful if the Gov/NHS could find a way of increasing the numbers of inoculations being given each day. Sadly that is very difficult as there is a finite number of staff.

Hopefully the Oxford vaccine won't be long, don't want to be pessimistic about vaccines but, in four weeks time they will be giving the second vaccine to some while trying to give the first vaccine to others, so it will all double up, where are all these people who are giving the vaccine going to come from, will we have enough of them, or a bottle neck. On the subject of tier 4 people having gone away, well there are plenty of second home owners already here in Devon.

On Monday, the prime minister said he wanted to open schools in January "if we possibly can".
Interesting statement as up to now his line has always been to keep schools open no matter what. A change of emphasis.

I think that was before the latest mutation gathered pace, and as they now have found last week in Basildon, it is young teenagers who seem to be the main carriers/spreaders with now the Christmas break, it has become more of a problem to get the testing of them implemented

Thank you for the clarification

Read yesterday that the Oxford vaccine is expected to be approved between Christmas and New Year, which would be the best Christmas present ever. The report also said that the Army would be involved in helping to set up more vaccination centres around the country.

I think we need to understand why this new mutation appears to be more virulent. Is it a more infectious form of the virus or is it because of the time of the year that more people are closer together indoors? Or perhaps a bit of both? Could it be that the new form stays active on surfaces for longer. Do we need to review space even with a face covering. Will we need to vaccinate a larger proportion of the population to achieve the required level of herd immunity which could be an issue re vaccine production? So many questions.

There is some speculation that the variant is more likely to infect children, who although unlikely to become ill are then passing it on.
If that is the case then the Christmas break should cause the levels to fall and I wouldn’t be surprised if schools didn’t go back in January.

The positive thing with the Oxford vax it’s cheap & fridge happy, it’s one for the world not just domestic. The WHO are stressing that the poor countries are being ignored, err Mr Ghebreyesus we are all in the same boat, Our Govt has signed up to donate vax👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻

DC, the Vax is the only trustworthy way of getting thru this pandemic. It’s a case of-the vax givers will be found to administer the vax, no ifs nor buts it’s a given. To put it in Hollywood speak-‘it’s the only hope for Humanity’ plus in true Hollywood it’s the USA that’s coming up with the goods😊👍🏻🇺🇸

I have a different system that I am personally happy with. Over 4 week period I have 10 mask usages as I don't - 8 shopping trips and 2 takeaways. I have, outside on a line under a covered patio area 10 masks. There are several spare in each car. I take one off the line from the right when I go shopping and replace it on the left when I come back. So each mask is hung in the fresh air for a month before reuse

Our Dora loves them and 2nd best discarded wipes. 😤😤🤢🤮. My dog outing bag, has treats, poo bags, masks, gloves in compartments and antibacterial gel hanging from the outside. I go through more gel than she does poo bags 🤣🤣.
A note to all those who use disposal masks CUT THE EAR ELASTICS PLEASE. Our dog groomer also works at the veterinary hospital and they've had lots of cases as in patients where the ear pieces become entangled if ingested. Also doesn't help the wildlife either. I'm sure no one reading this would be guilty of just dropping used anything!

I pick up if I can and there's a bin not far way - plus I have gloves or antibacterial gel to hand. It makes me angry that folks cant do it themselves 😤😤.
Mind you at least 2 mornings in the last week I've driven to the local estate for a dog run ( the walk involves very busy roads) and it appears folk have been to McDonald's, other takeaways available, parked up and eaten then opened the car door and put the wrappings on the ground before driving away. So what chance do we stand???

My OH and I have been Billy no mates throughout, as have son and DIL but we still aren't meeting up. Granted we are tier4 and they're tier2. But if we weren't where we are I'd love to meet them even if only for an hour. 😢 But safety first.......
