I have just come across this and I wondered how well known it was? Next year construction will begin on a tunnel from Rødbyhavn in Denmark to Puttgarden in Germany see here https://femern.com/en I am not sure how many Club members travel to Scandinavia but this will save the ferry crossing. Bit early to get too excited about it because it won't open until 2029!!! There are also plans to upgrade the road across Femarn Island in Germany as well as the Danish roads towards Copenhagen.

I'll be past it by then, I fear. Pity as it would knock about 80 miles off the journey.

Interesting David but any chance you could ask them to bring it forward a bit, say by about 8 years.

They don't start until next year, delayed because of COVID. Mind you the ferry is still running and only takes 45 minutes. Mind you if the pricing is similar to the Øresund Bridge it will be quite costly!

The bridge crossing works out about the same as the ferry was/is, so I expect this new tunnel will be priced in a similar manner.
