NHS test/trace on site

Back in August, our town had a spike in numbers, and a campaign was on to allow everyone to have a test. We went along, test took a couple of minutes. Next morning we both got text message results (negative) around 18 hours between test and result. We thought very quick, but of course testing capacity must be under far greater strain now.
Hope your family results come back quickly, and of course things go well for them. 🤞

At Seacroft it was both inside and outside of reception, very clearly displayed. We weren't asked to scan, probably because they have all of our details anyway so I suppose scanning the QR code is for our own protection?

On the sites we've been on since the scan thing came out, we have either been given it on a piece of paper when we checked in, or it was displayed at reception, on one site it was also displayed just inside the toilet block. All but one site asked at check in if we were using it.

Not present on CC sites in Scotland, although there is their own app up here it doesn't work on the QR code. T&T is done by booking information.

NHS have upgraded the App so the criteria for a warning has been reduced which means presumably they have either reduced the distance or time frame to be near somebody.
The answer is so simple keep away from anyone who is not in your household.

Does anyone know of anyone being contacted by track and trace because they have been in contact with an infected person on a caravan and motorhome campsite as a result of scanning the QR code, or is that too difficult for the technology to work out.

Does it ask for any personal information when you scan the QR code? I've not had occasion to use it and have only put the first part of my post code into the App. I assumed that you would be contacted by the App if there were positive tests linked to that code at a similar time, based on some complicated algorithm and test / trace would not be involved.

From what I have found online, it seems the incidence of positive tests at a venue would be flagged to test and trace, who would then decide wether to instruct the App to inform others that had checked in at a similar time. They don't know who those folk are of course, so it would be the App that contacts you with instructions what to do. Although if you had sat close / long enough to anyone with the App, who reported a positive test, the App may already have told you to self isolate.

This will not be happening in Spain, armed Police now set up road blocks to stop people traveling between regions unless you have a permit .
Very big religious weekend in Spain and national holiday on Monday but when Spain says lock down you lock down, daughter has had to stay at home and all festivals have been put on hold.

I have wondered if the algorithms involved work on coordinates but this would not be visible to the general public who would just receive an alert? Maybe the information is available to those working in the background to work out hotspots, but that's just a guess on my part.

email ....."all members will be asked to register their attendance at our sites through the NHS Test & Trace App to record their visit" - signed Nick Lomas.
I emailed back 1 week ago asking for an explanation why this has become mandatory when the Gov.uk site states that it is an option.
To date there is no reply.
Sites have all details when booking and checking in, anyway. Happy to provide any extra info. But this is going too far.
£12 billion is the cost so far for this "app" which experts have opined as providing "marginal impact". 12 Billion Pounds!
Happy to co-operate, but this amounts to removing one of the few rights left - the right to some privacy, and, aiding and abetting in another NHS scandal.
£12 billion was the cost of "one of the worst scandals in terms of waste of public money" when the NHS programme for IT failed to deliver in 2004-10.
I'll give another week for Nick Lomas to explain, otherwise I will consider terminating my membership and recommending everyone to do so.

I rather suspect the club management has more important things to do at the moment.
The email only says you will be asked to scan the code, not that it's mandatory and Rowena has explained in this thread that use of the QR code and smartphone is not compulsory so there's no need for such excitement.
It's entirely up to you if you leave but it's a storm in a teacup.

You have the right to privacy, stay at home.
If you wish to travel under the current circumstances then you comply. This is to possibly save me and my family so it is not your right to decide.
The track and trace app is poor but is only as good as the information it receives. Ironically the ones least likely to use it are the ones likely to benefit the most from it.
For information, the cost of the track and trace app is £35 million according the Public Accounts Committee hearing about digitisation in the NHS. Of the £35 million £10 went straight into the bin.
The £12 billion figure is the total cost of testing the population for Covid, Probably not all well spent but then hindsight is a wonderful tool to predict the past.

You are not discriminated against, by definition you would have had to be deprived of service. You have not been deprived of services of the club and are perfectly entitled to enjoy your hobby.
If you choose not to comply with the new rules then that is your choice.
In order to help protect the wellbeing of the other members you will be expected to comply with what is the new normal for the rest of society.

I know it's easy to criticise with hindsight, but I'm not sure this tracking app is turning out to be as good as the Government thought it would be. I personally have heard of several people having turned it off because of false positive notifications. I understand that Jaguar Land Rover workers have been asked to switch it off because of false positive notifications, causing workers to self isolate when it wasn't necessary. Was it worth the money being spent on it?

C, then again I’ve talked to many folk, read of many folk & watched many folk on TV being interviewed all totally nonplussed at the massive spike in covid-19 positive people in this country🤷🏻♂️. They all say the same-that they hardly see anyone in masks, social distancing or taking any precautions at all. I’m thinking that there is the issue, ‘covid fatigue’ the majority have just given up even trying. After visiting Hull City Centre a few days ago I have decided not to go for a while now. The city was rammed with folk yet I saw maybe a dozen folk wearing masks out of what must have been thousands. There’s the problem-crying false positive is just one of the excuses☹️

I see that USA have hit a quarter of a million deaths with no appreciable controls or restrictions. We, with our tiers, lockdowns, tracing etc have a death toll that, based on population, is about the same. Let's hope these vaccines get us out of this mess.

There was an news slot from Hull Hospital in the last couple of days ,and two that were interviewed who were really suffering with the virus both early thirties, admitted that they did not realise how seriously they would be affected and had not in the past taken precausions as they were asked
it seems we down here (apart form it seems UNI students) seem to be taking more notice as infection rates are much lower

In your little bit of the world JV you will be employing sense, really old folk realise just how bad it is👍🏻. It takes a lot to accept your freedoms are halted for your own good. The whole country is suffering from folk who just don’t get it☹️
