I remember years ago we went on a bell ringing trip in the Dales. We hired a minibus which was so old that we had to get out and push up one steepish hill!
T'was also on that trip that we rang one of the sweetest peals of bells I've ever rung. I think it was in the little village of West Tanfield if my memory serves.
As for fondly remembered ales our regular bus ride to school took us past the premises of Hammonds United Breweries, what wonderful aromas on most days. The beer was pretty good too.

I remember when tractors didn't have cabs and heating and radios and big comfy seats. If it rained you got p155 wet through.
I also remember working outside an old nissen hut which served as a barn. Somebody working inside with a tractor with forks on the front forgot to lower them and we watched the forks come through the roof one by one.😂😂😂😂
