Both are still open at the moment but Burrs is within the Greater Manchester area and I do expect that it will close if they go to Tier 3. Blackpool appeared to be doing its own thing earlier on in the year but that site closes on the 2nd November anyway. All pitches at the Blackpool site are currently showing as 'full or closed'.

Blackpool has obviously closed due to tier 3 restrictions since when I checked this morning there were plenty of vacancies on late availability for next three weekends. Obviously someone has stopped further bookings but not yet updated on sites closed info.
We should have been there for last week in October before normal site closure so I expect to receive confirmation of cancellation soon after they have dealt with contacting the more imminent arrivals !

Sorry to hear all that TG, hope you have a safe journey home.
When I read calls for a nationwide lockdown from areas with high transmission rates I feel uneasy living in an area of relatively low rates. I was listening to an interview on the radio this morning about whether tourists would still be welcome in the SW and the answer was yes if people stuck to the guidelines. Apparently the huge influx of tourists didn't push up our rates down here, we had a blip when students returned to Exeter Uni (now under control.) Have infection rates gone up because people have slackened off their guard in other places? Towns down here are relatively quiet, buses fairly empty etc. is it different elsewhere?

I'm continuing with my delivery slots, I presume the next best thing is click and collect.
I had to smile when I read this Brue.
We have used Tesco delivery service but have found slots difficult to come by recently but have had a couple of C&C ones. We had one today. A 2 hour slot just after lunch at our 2 mile away store. To cut a very long story short, we ended up at a store 8 miles away, in the store itself while they fetched it from the warehouse. We thought it would be a couple of minutes. It was 15, with customers passing us hither and thither as it was near the entrance door, thus negating the whole point of a C&C.
They're not in my good books today. So many mistakes with the whole process, putting us at added risk.
It's good when it works as you are kept away from the other shoppers in a designated pick up area but obviously they don't have much of a Plan B.
I must try harder to get a delivery instead for next time.

I really feel for the people who have booked Blackpool for a half term break. Earlier this week, we received info, via Serco’s app, and our MP’s tweet, that Lancashire would be placed in Tier 2 of the new system.
A few days later, we’re in Tier 3. Not much thought gone into that one, Covid madness indeed. 😱

It's a puzzle alright Brue. Do you think that the reason the influx of tourists didn't push up the infection rate was down to their being outside for most of the time wandering the lanes of Devon and Cornwall and the local residents were keeping out of the way as much as possible?
In addition there doesn't seem to be same concentration of BAME and/or old tenement houses that lead to intermingling of family groups that seem more prevalent in the old industrial north and the valleys of South Wales. It also seems strange that some University cities such as Nottingham, Northumbria and Manchester to name a few have had big infection rates yet nothing is heard of Oxbridge.

Hopefully not JVB, looks like things are getting out of control in some places.
WN if you look at the track and trace details the lists of those affected most are still much the same, male and over a certain age.
Are some of these local politicos in denial about the people they need to protect?

As BoJO has said he has not ruled out a national lock down ,and half term in this area is from Monday week,i expect as I was told some weeks ago by some teachers that had to prepare for extended half term?
but IMHO the virus has taken hold faster than HMG expected ,

I have read many posts on here criticizing the Club for lack of communication so having just received a text following an email to confirm that Blackpool site will be closed from 12.00 noon tomorrow and our booking is therefore cancelled I must praise the Sites Operations Team for excellent and speedy communication.

I've just read the latest email from the club about the protocols to be followed and about those "safeguards" to be put in place.
I was wondering what would happen if I was still travelling around England and turned up at a club site. It seems from reading the email that I might have trouble being accepted as my address would show me as coming from a lockdown area in Wales whereby I'm not supposed to travel outside my county boundary. I suppose I would have to prove that I was outside that boundary when that regulation was effected. There must be some members from Wales that this will apply to.
Hopefully the club might wish to explain what will happen.

Yes, just received the same email. Living in Lancashire we'll be in Tier 3 from midnight tonight. So the same applies for members living here, and in Liverpool of course, as staff will monitor addresses. The email does go on to say that you can still go to sites within your Very High Risk Area. Bit difficult, as Blackpool will be closed from tomorrow though and Wirral and Southport already are.
Edited: just re-read the email, it actually says:
Members and guests who reside in a Local Alert level of Very High should not travel to any of the Club’s other campsites whilst the alert is in place but can continue to stay at a campsite within their own very high alert area.
So, does that mean that if you are already on a site within your own very high risk area, you can continue to stay on it, or does it mean that you can continue to book to stay on a site within your very high risk area, in the near future?
Not quite sure on that one, could be interpreted both ways (IMHO of course!).

Yes just got it too.

My thoughts too WN. I suppose you could show receipts with dates from non-club sites? But then again, on one CL we stayed on recently, payment was done by phone, and by card, no receipt other than confirmation via email. Suppose that could be shown as proof?

I was just thinking of our latest outing. We didn't want any receipts, unusual but less handling of other matters handled by a third party.
I would be a bit miffed if they didn't take my word but would probably ask them to call the CL or site to confirm. Bit awkward though.

In these "unusual?"times every one needs to learn to adapt to each situation as it arrives,,and with areas having(for now)different levels of restrictions, i would hang on to any "evidence of passage"for when as every where it seems , one comes up against a "jobs worth"

Evening
Nothing at all to do with your reference to "a jobsworth" jv.
An example. If a member from a tier 3 area arrives at my site in say Cornwall, and says they've been on a tour for more than 10 days or so (before their area went into tier 3), that member may have to prove to me where they've stayed. Not up to me to find out, it's up to the customer to provide evidence. Entry to site could be refused otherwise I'm afraid. We now have to check everyone's home address prior to arrival on site so we are prepared. The extra workload is worth it (in my opinion). Whether we like it or not, guidelines are to be adhered to.
Open all year sites in tier 3 areas will be open for people from those areas, and open for bookings for people from those areas only.
So, call me a jobsworth if you like, I've been called far worse this year!

Had the same thought myself, WN. Our home town is under a tier 2 restrictions, so could go up to tier 3 at anytime, but we have been away for 4 weeks now all in areas that have had relate low levels of infection. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens went N.S. makes her announcement next week, as we are booked into a Scottish club site in 10 day's time.
We've used the supermarkets up here, without experiencing any problems over social distancing, and not talked to anyone for more than a few minutes since leaving England.
