Apologies - I'm also guilty - but we've strayed off topic so can we get back to restricting the thread to feedback on safety measures.

I would think many people are out all day, so either want to shower early on, or later in the evening, plus a few who prefer to do so as soon as they return from a walk or whatever. So, it will be mainly quiet from after cleaning till 7-8pm when children start getting ready for bed.
So, yes, plenty of of hours available to shower, but difficult to make use of if you are not there!

Once again I am truly staggered that anyone should notice, or be interested in, what others are wearing to the facilities block or anywhere else on site come to that. I'm now anxious about anyone who might have spotted me walking the dogs in just a pair of flip flops and speedos!
(Yes, I know dogs wearing flip flops and speedos is just silly!

after cancelling our trip to France 1st Sept, was looking at UK sites with swimming pools, i see all CAMC site pools are closed for the remainder of 2020, have now decided to return to a commercial site that has a pool with all the necessary arrangements for corvid etc, but i did take a peek at the reviews for Looe where we have stayed previously, the first 4 are somewhat different to those posted on here for other sites

We’re at Kendal Club Site, arrived last Sunday. Check in, etc absolutely brilliant, wardens very helpful, given 2 rubber bands for the wash blocks, but we’ve been using our on board facilities.
We’re lucky to live in a nice area, but it’s been wonderful to have a change of scenery, this is a beautiful site, most people have been happily socially distancing.
We did have a chap wander onto our pitch earlier today, bottle of beer in one hand, mobile phone in the other, saying he was trying to get a better signal! No worries, some things never change 🙂0 -
Can anyone update me on the current situation regarding visitors to club sites. As a solo caravaner about to go on my second trip I know my daughter was hoping to visit/check up on me. I was wondering if the official view is being strictly adhered to or is there Wardens discretion being used.

Still no visitors permitted but best to check with the site immediately prior to your trip. Site staff shouldn't be making decisions not in line with current policy. The recommendation is that people meet friends or family off site.

We’re at Kendal Club site at the moment. There are signs at reception stating that day visitors are unfortunately not allowed. The site is full. They are also recommending that people don’t meet up in their ‘vans with friends who are also on site, but to stay outside if at all possible.
We don’t normally use Club sites during the school holidays, and it’s really good to see families with young children enjoying the site. Lots and lots of very nice looking Campervans, they seem to be very popular with younger couples.

Baltic Wharf site, three rubber bands in Milton fluid plus one unisex toilet for all comers, worked quite well from my dealings. Once a pitch became vacant it was sprayed before being occupied again. Wardens spot on with their Covid assignments 👍
With Cumberland road now single carriageway due to the landslip outside of the entrance, and along with a deviation route it pays to be careful especially exiting the site. Large Motorhomer took off part of the rear of his vehicle when leaving.
Carsington water site, given a coloured rubber band each, three hooks numbered one two and three on entrance to facilities. Worked OK for most of the time until I came out and my yellow on hook 3 had gone so I took yellow on hook 1, sanitised it and kept that one, seems customers remember colours but cannot remember colours and numbers. Must be a multitasking failure due to being male
Again the Wardens worked non stop to sanitise everything. Credit to them on both sites.

We were also at Kendal last weekend arriving Sunday around 1:30 and although the site managers were very pleasant I found the check in process very ‘clunky’. It was the 4th club site we have stayed on and all had slight differences.
The best, and fastest was Southport where we were met by a man with clipboard who ticked off our names, gave us an info pack and waved us through the barrier to find our pitch. We returned later to check in and pay. (One visit to the office)
At Wirral there was a slight queue while people checked in but the managers responded by changing the process, taking one of the membership cards and waving us through the barrier to find a pitch and returning to the office 30 mins later to check in and pick up our bands etc (one visit to the office)
At Kendal we had to queue in the motorhome to get on site, then queue in the car park and then one of us queued outside the office to check in. Would have been ok but also queuing were the ones who had pitched and returned for barrier keys. So once pitched we left it a little while to return to the office for the barrier keys. (2 visits to the office)

As I can't seem to post a general review of Black Knowl, I 'll post the Covid related parts of it.
Sorry if this gets the thread locked.
Checking in was straight forward, one in and out of the site office, greeted by the lovely lady warden behind a plastic screen. Membership card was presented and payment taken by card machine, which was wiped down and passed around the side of the screen.
Care was taken to provide site Covid information, especially the “3 band system for the toilet block” and the use of the service points
3 band system was apparently abused in the women’s toilets (partners report) some ladies though it was ok to use the 3 toilets if the 3 showers were in use. (Gents not used but possibly the same)
As there was only one wash up sink available, people were respectful of the queuing system on the odd occasion we used it.
Laundry not used so cannot comment
There are hand sanitizer stations at various points; toilets etc but there were none on the service points which I thought was odd?
It is made clear on arrival and with signage at the points that it is “One person (or family group) to use the facilities at anytime” For those that didn’t listen at check in this means the CWP, recycle bins, waste bins, waste water and fresh water. To the side are a series of equally spaced out posts where you queue for the whole facility to become available.
The only time we used these facilities was to empty the toilet, drop off waste and recycle once a day. Time after time I had to point out to people using the facilities at the same time as me and my partner that it was not acceptable and could they move away and wait their turn. This was met with blank stares and in some cases passive-aggressive behaviour.
In the current climate I was disappointed that people would behave this way considering they were putting themselves (as well as me and my family) at risk. These people, by the look of them, fell into the high risk bracket (age and/or weight) so you might have thought they would be more mindful of the risks and want to protect themselves?
This was pointed out to the wardens who stated that they are not able to monitor it and cannot do anything about it.

We left Globe Vale, in Redruth last Wednesday. When we arrived, we had to meet a member of the team outside reception and we were shown to our pitch. All payments were made before arrival. Toilet blocks open, but everyone was advised to use own facilities if possible. No visitors allowed on site and social distancing had to be kept. Hand sanitizer at points, including CDP and we are told only one person at CDP at a time. In all my years as a caravanner, I have never known more than one person at the CDP....
. Toilet cleaning schedule was increased. Bar and food open.Things were pretty normal here, but folk were being really sensible...

We are currently at Putts Corner CAMC site. On arrival we had to go into reception - only one person allowed in at a time. The desk was screened and we had to wear masks. Payment by card (or voucher). One person allowed at a time in the toilet block - each person was given an arm band which had to be put on a hook on the door to indicate the toilet block was in use.
Everything seemed to be working fine.

At Southport on arrival we were met at the barrier by a warden who checked us off against a list of booked arrivals. Explained the procedure of him opening the barrier, gave us a map of available pitches ( serviced pitch booked, so only 1 available) with the route highlighted. Given instructions to pitch up then come to the office to pay wearing face covering, 1 person at a time. On paying, by vouchers, was given an envelope containing gate pass, facility block key, 2 wristbands for access to facility block. At the facility block were 2 hooks on the wall outside where you waited outside if 2 wristbands on, enter if 1 or less, hanging your wristband on an empty hook. Alternate WC ans shower cubicles available. Only 1 of 2 wash basins available. A very simple system.
At Ferry Meadows pull up at barrier, touch intercom button, barriers lifts proceed to arrival lane stop. Enter office wearing face covering, 2 people max at one time. Pay by vouchers. Handed card for barrier and code to facility block. At facility block max 4 users inside. A plastic tub secured to the exterior wall with bands in a solution of diluted Milton. If 4 ,3,2,1 wristband take one and enter code by finger on the pad on the inner door. If no bands, wait outside. Inside alternate shower and WC cubicles available. Urinals out of service. Water isolated to out of use cubicles / WC / showers. A couple of wristbands were taken from the ladies, reducing usage for others.
Hand sanitizer at facility blocks and reception offices on both sites. Not at CDP, water or bin areas.
we felt safe, secure and comfortable at both sites.
perhaps a standard system could be adopted to make it easier.
At Southport the earliest arrivals forming a q on the road outside started at 10:17 am, then 11:30am. Why???
Both sites were full. Warden at FM remarked most people were using vouchers and the site had not been so full for so long in years. Perhaps CAMC should consider doing the vouchers each year. Certainly made our decision to use CAMC sites in peak school summer holidays.
Our next 2 camping trips are at commercial sites, so will be interesting to see how things are done.

Was there signage at the CDP and waste/ water and recycling at Gobe Vale?
At Black Knowl on arrival you are told that one person or one family group can use ALL the facilities at a given point when they arrive to use them, any other visitor has to wait their turn. It even has signage to tell you that.
In the current climate I don't think it is a joke and maybe people should listen carefully at check in. All the people I had to tell to back off were, how shall we say, elderly .....

I agree, as it seems there are different rules at different site, it would save a lot of confrontation

We're at C&CC site at Kingsbury Water Park for a two-night post lockdown shake down of our aged motorhome. We don't have an on board shower so we are using site facilities.
No rubber bands here ! Both blocks open with two loos and two showers, two wash basins, one urinal ( gents) in ladies and gents each. There's a polite notice asking us all to observe social distancing, and to be patient if having to queue. The site is full but the operation seems to working smoothly.

We have so far done 3 CMC sites, two private sites
All have done it differently. I have asked the club why they keep advertising non contact check when at the 3 sites we have visited it was not an option. I have shielded for 22 weeks, no-one has been in our house and I have not been inside any other building but our house
It really disappoints me that the club has not taken things more seriously and practiced what they have advertised
The best site by far we have visited is Eye Kettleby Lakes a private adult only site, their procedures were excellent more hand sanatiser than I have seen anywhere, they were even round immediately someone left a pitch to wash down the tap before the next arrival
I find it hard to believe in this day of computer technology more can't be done to reduce the need to go inside the reception building at all

Surprised they are available for use. Although perhaps the risks now might be less than other times, as folk are washing their hands properly. I remember reading an article on measurements done pre Covid. Unless hands were washed properly, bacteria (in the case of this study) were spread far and wide.

Looking back at previous posts I can see that arrival procedures are a mixed lot. Because the C&CC require a deposit for booking, the arrival here was simple. We were checked off by a warden with a clip board and escorted to make a choice of pitches. The balance of the site fees are taken from the card used to make the booking.

Pps The signs here at Kingsbury say that each section, gents or ladies, is limited to eight people at one time: 2 showerers,2 pooers, 2 wash basiners. Seems more sensible than only one person at a time as seems the case at CAMC sites.

We are now at Hunter's Moon CAMC site. The toilet block system is slightly different to Putts Corner. At Putts Corner we were issued with our own bands to put on a hook so that folk could see if there was room to enter. Here at Hunters Moon there are bands in sanitized liquid which should be taken when you go in the toilet block, and returned to the 'sanitized container' when you come out. You have to wait for a band before you can go in.
There I hand sanitizer dispensers at various points.... e.g. at the CDP.

It’s a good job site users on our club sites are more understanding of the safety measures in place than some other members of the public - at least, I hope they are.

The two small facility areas at Steamer Quay have become unisex. You can use either one, each facilty area becomes yours (or as a family) to use exclusively. Good idea. Hook and band system in place.
Using our own facs and haven't noticed queues.
Water points being cleaned more frequently.

Not surprised, Cornwall is overrun with chavs this year who haven’t made it to Benidorm - never seen such a tide of branded sportswear in my life! The more typical tourist tends to be more respectful.

Just returned from Culloden CAMC site, checked in as normal via reception, given 2 bands for our use. System worked there was 3 hooks outside the toilet/showers, hang band on hook going in remove band when coming out. If all hooks full wait outside until someone comes out. Was there for 3 days never had to wait outside.
Moved onto Rosemarkie CCC site, facilities closed for the season, use your own in the van. No problem at check in, site manager met us on her bike, checked us off a list she had, escorted us to available pitches, wished us a good stay.
This is the 3rd time we have been out since July 3rd, not had a problem on any of the sites (both clubs and CL's) we have stayed on, most folk abide by the rules no problem. Off again next week for a few weeks 5 sites booked again a mix of both clubs. Will be our first English sites this season all other ones were in Scotland.
