England Cricket

Mr Cornwall is indeed a giant of a man and looks a little out of place on a cricket field. His stature is more akin to a Linebacker but there's absolutely nothing wrong with his reactions, after taking a superb catch at slip.
Today will be crucial, as the forecast for tomorrow is grim.

So the Windies eased down to the inevitable defeat and loss of both the Series AND the Wisden Trophy.
But as I said some days ago, I'm just thankful that they bothered to come to this virus riddled country to play any form of cricket at all.
So Thank you all, West Indies players, Management, Baggage staff Et Al. Now enjoy yourselves !!

2nd Eleven got a bit of an 'ammering in the ODI yesterday, but it seems that even they can act as an example to the 1st Eleven !! And by gawd it shews !! Saw part of the England V Pakistan test match today ~~ Seemed like a 'Journeymens ' team out in the field. With a bit of luck they might, just might, decide to pick the best players for each position before the season ends !
Just in case you have any doubts I will say it clearly ~~ Brian is not a happy bunny !! GRRRRRR

Well well well !! They made hard work of it but the bowlers saw them through in the end . The Pakistani Management etc were not over impressed with their Captain today, but I cannot disagree 'cos I have been known to rattle at Root's cage a time or three recently .
Still just a few days then back out on the Green Sward for 2nd Test this Thursday at Southampton -- will it be dry, will it be wet ~~ oooo Brian wants to know ??!!

A really good test match, which could've gone either way. Thankfully Messers Woakes and Buttler tipped the scales in our favour and England continue their unbeaten 3-on-the-bounce test victories. Onwards to Southampton, where I predict a weather interupted draw.

Yes a very enjoyable match. It looked all over at one point when the top order were making a "horlicks" of it.
I thought Woakes and Buttler were excellent , mind you Buttler had to do something special after his stint with gloves was a bit below par.

Not exactly Weather Interrupted today JR !
I'm on Vaughnies side here -- they aught to go and watch a few 20 over bashes in the mid week 'Workers Leagues' -- we only ever wore head torches never helmets and some of those pitches were like corrugated iron !!

Ended up a grand day for the boys, wonder if they can continue tomorrow and get their respective 200 & 100?

They were a bit slow at first this morning, but made up for it in the afternoon session. The our Jimmy steps in and grabs 3 quick wickets at the end, so a good day all round.

What an amazing day of crikkit at the Rose Bowl (other insurance companies are available!)
So, as records tumble, as well as Pakistani wickets, who's going to lay a tenner to say we bowl them out twice before lunch tomorrow, or even today?? Imagine taking 17 test wickets in a day? Mmmmm
Just hope it's all wrapped up by tomorrow evening before the impending inclement conditions rob England of their worthy victory and elevate them to second ranked in the world.
"Oh! Jimmy, Jimmy......Jimmy,Jimmy, Jimmy, Jimmy An der son"

Jimmy would have done but only if the Wicket Keeper / Slips had remembered to keep their hands together !! With the appalling forecast for tomorrows weather and the next Test Match for England being a long time away the Lad might have taken up his state pension when his next chance arrives
