Another non Twitface user here. I couldn’t get into CL section last night, so it isn’t just the forum. Wonderful advert for the Club.☹️

Well remembered, Brue 👍

My suspicion is that Club Together doesn't fit with the current Club image which is all based around Facebook and Twitter and I don't think this forum is seen as as being that relevant in Media terms.
Perhaps not as a promotional tool but I would like to think it does serve as some use to the Club which FB and Twitter doesn't give. After all many of the changes we have seen in recent years I think have all stemed from discussion on here, eg rolling booking system.

I don't disagree with your view Peedee and Club Together is a good place the discuss things like you mention because you usually get a wide range of views for and against and often neutral which I would have thought was very useful to the Club. But we can't avoid the fact that very little priority is given to Club Together. We have been having these server problems for the best part of a week now and you would have thought that a day or two would be long enough to sort them out? I wonder how quickly they would attend to a problem on the Facebook page?

It would be nice to hear from someone to give us an update.
The silence from a club whose DG has urged us to give support by renewing our membership is astounding. ☹️

I am not a huge user of CT although more since lockdown, I read it more than post. I find CT is a more intimate and friendly (usually!) place to discuss and get information. I do have access to FB but I really dislike it, it’s so corporate and impersonal. I always much prefer to use CT and it has, in the past, given us so much information and knowledge of unthought of areas to visit, health issues, and caravan info. I really hope we don’t lose it.

Fed up with being able to use CT, every attempt met by the message below;
The page cannot be displayed because an internal server error has occurred.
I did a web chat this morning, three in the end as it disconnected twice, and was told it was working fine their end.
I have just managed to get here using a workaround but to be honest will now leave as it is nit currently worth the hassle.

You have not more faith than I TW. Have been saying for a while now that that the CC are determined to close CT down in favour of a forum where there isn't the interaction between members that there is on here, be it friendly or otherwise. By not putting the required resources into making it run smoothly they are slowly driving away members and so can eventually turn round and say that there are so few viewing/using CT that it's not worth the effort of keeping it running so close it down.

The first line should have read.
..You have a lot more faith than I, TW....

This thread is very similar to another on this forum about a month back.
The issue is a long standing one and the club is becoming a laughing stock.
I dont think its an IT issue all, but a management issue. Its time the club got a grip of it.

Ah, but see the extract of the Articles of Association copied earlier. One of the objects of the club is to encourage social interaction. What you suggest would fly in the face of that and a cleverer person than I might decide such an event could be actionable. 🤷🏻♂️

Hi all
Apologies for the lack of updates on my part since Thursday/Friday of last week. It's been an incredibly busy few days for me and my team.
The technical teams involved in dealing with the website issues with our various 3rd party support partners have continued to try numerous config, code and infrastructure changes over the past few days; each small change has had varying degrees of success.
As I'm sure you can imagine, while the Club are preparing to re-open the UK Sites Network, the primary foces has been on making sure the UK sites booking journey is stable. As you may have seen if you've been trying to book a UK Club site, we have reduced the threshold for our queueing software, and you may be placed in a booking queue to manage the load on the bookings page. This has been successful.
We are aware that there are still issues with various parts of the site; most notably Club Together, Your Stories and a few of the search pages (eg for Certificated Locations). The techncal teams troubleshooting these issues will be implementing another change this evening to try and rectify these issues. Even with internal testing in the early hours of Wednesday morning, we won't really be able to gauge how successful this change has been until it is fully load tested in the live environment when members start using the site tomorrow.
I'll check back on this thread tomorrow and hopefully provide a further update then.
Kind regards
Justin

Brilliant. Taken me until the 5th.occasion that I have tried to get onto this thread today and what happens? The first time I do I can't complain because Justin has stolen my thunder.
Oh well, let's hope I won't have anything to complain about tomorrow.

I often sit of an evening and browse the club discussion site. Frankly, I just can't be bothered. Taken me ages to get to this point. I gave up yesterday as I kept getting "an internal server error". To say the world is moving digitally is a misnomer as far as the club is concerned. Come on CAMC - get the website sorted.

It is sorted. See the Maintenance thread.
