Have been trying to read posts for the last 5 evenings and am finding that I am unable to read the vast majority of them.

The site has been slow previously but never this bad.

Using Safari on a MacBook Pro if that's any help.

I am not sure it matters what system you use we are all suffering from the same problem. Apparently the problem has been identified but that was several days ago and so far no resolution, if anything it's actually got worse rather than better. It depends on how long you are prepared to work at it. I often find that refreshing a thread eventually gets it to display. Some threads seem to be completely locked. I don't hold out much hope that it will be improved over the weekend either!!!

Had difficulty even getting a Reply box!

Most of the info is on the thread about website update - which I can no longer get to - and even when I could, I couldnt get to the final pages with today's answers!

Yesterday I was having great difficulty using the CL secion of the site - the Search was working but not able to get toanything via Search For English CLs & then go to a county.

CT not really working at all - cant get to the thread about the opening up of sites from July4th.

If I was into conspiracy theories, I would believe the Club wanted us not to comment on anything, & just book Club sites.

If it wasnt that I wanted info from the site, I just wouldnt bother.

In this day & age etc etc

I finding it almost impossible to read anything. This is the first reply box I have managed to generate. I assume that's it for the weekend. I can't even get the booking side to work properly . Just as well I don't currently want to book or amend anything.

I’ve been trying to book a couple of sites and just give up,what a complete embarrassment this site is .I just can’t believe that the biggest outdoor leisure club in the U.K. can’t rectify the problems on here 😳😳

I haven't been able to read Rowena's Coronavirus thread since its inception several days ago once I log in. However I could access it if I wasn't logged in.

The level of incompetence in the design, coding and subsequent maintenance, or rather the lack of it, beggars belief. The website has been beset by problems ever since the much heralded great redesign almost four years ago. There are numerous other websites of similar or greater complexity on the web so it isn't impossible to do. It just shows a complete unwillingness of management to address the problem.

Looks like it is going to be another bad day on here. The weather is better today so won't be bothering with CT if server errors continue, it is a pain and not worth the trouble.

It's better than it was yesterday evening but I suspect that is because not many are trying to use the site yet. I am still getting a server error for latest activity and when trying to get to the last page of what are you up to today.

Also not possible to get into recent maintenance post. I fear that as there has been no update, work on sorting it has been abandoned for the weekend.

I’ve just tried to have a look around the website just now.  Still the same for me, server errors on all the threads I went into.  I understand from the last post from Justin that there were many teams of people looking into the problem.  Coronavirus thread started by Rowena will open in Search but can’t get any further without ‘server errors.  It appears the ‘many teams’ haven’t solved it yet then!!!  I won’t even try to book anywhere just now.

Some threads do appear to get there in the end, while some go straight to servers errors.

I’ve been told we have to roll over and accept the way CT is , after all it’s free and doesn’t cost anything and it is the Club ,so that’s ok

I think you are in error on a few thing there Husky, it is not free, but unlike you I don't pay for it, neither do non members. Who told you to roll over?

Not sure what you mean by the club at all?

Knowing people who are working from home on laptops during this pandemic I have some sympathy at this time for the IT programming people @ CAMC as I guess they are also working from home and as the www is being used far more just now they are possibly also encountering similar slowness problems familiar to many of us.  Life's full of challenges.  Take care and stay safe.

I think that's a fair comment. It is a major blow just as bookings are needed and wanted that the whole web site isnt functioning properly. We have at least been able to read Justin's comments about the IT situation if we are lucky enough to find them. Others who don't look at CT will be frustrated to get an intermittent server error as soon as they click on the main title.

what i want to know where is TW ? he normally has a positive slant to address these situations laughing Looks to me as though there are more serious problems than just server error, all the data seems to be in disaray, could be interesting if the booking data base is corrupt come the 4th of July , off to enjoy the sunshine, might even turn my caravan around again just so i get a change of scenery

How do these people in  I.T keep their jobs. I would have been sacked years ago if I had performed in my job as such!.

Your IT staff could be the best in the world, but they can only work with what they are given. From what we are told the servers are a bit long in the tooth and have been severely under stress recently. If the club is reluctant or slow to spend money on new resources, that is hardly the fault of those at the sharp end.

    Hi, Rufs.

I see no point in ranting so I'm looking in now and again and if it doesn't work, I just get on with life.

It'll be fixed when it's fixed, or not.

Just logged in using Cath's user account on our laptop. No server errors so far!! Could this problem be related to the use of cookies? I'm going to clear cookies out of my own user account and try again. It's worth a shot!

    Steve

The I.T staff have been given a problem.............their problem is to

cure the problem! As for what you have been told, perhaps a good idea would be not to believe all you hear and only half believe what you see.

This site is rubbish and unfair to loyal users.

It's hit and miss for me. I couldn't even get in the first time I tried about an hour ago so I gave up. I thought I'd have another go and wow I got in like a flash, pages whizzed by so quickly I could hardly keep up and than everything slowed right down again.

I'm now wondering if I fell asleep and was dreaming then woke up but I'm sure I didn't

some thread are OK, like this one ironically.

Is the booking side of the website OK, that is probably more important and more used than CT by members I would imagine.

Weirdly this is the only thread that seems to be reliable!!!  I notice that Tammygirl had posted on ‘What are you all up to’ at 12.15 today so I thought it was working but - NO - still a server error when you ask for the last page.  🤯😡

Just like hja posted on page 1, I had problems with the CL section of the site last night so decided to have a "Chat" with whoever it was that came online to chat with me. Told her I wasn't making a query just using the Chat facility to express my displeasure at the shambles that is the website and asked her to forward my comments on.

If everyone did this then it might, just might mind you, help make someone higher up get off his/her backside (metaphorically speaking) and do something. Then again.....undecided
