Corona Virus Concerns

I think it is very variable.
DD and family, and DS and family are sticking to the rules, have hardly been out. But DS's FIL has started visiting them, more than a 5 mile drive, and wants to come in the house, but has not been allowed further than the back door.
The other in-laws are not sticking to some of the rules re numbers meeting up
We are pretty much sticking to the rules but are going out once a week for shopping, I drive, OH shops. In the shops she has found it is mainly the 15-40 year olds who are not bothering about keeping 2m apart. But there are also a few very elderly who seem to have no idea there is a pandemic and are carrying on as usual.
Outside, we have large groups of teenagers gathering and roaming the shopping precinct.
On TV we see mainly young people and families out on beaches and in parks, but also elderly neighbours gathering at less than 2 m for a good chat.

“after the weekend of marches the amount of trouble in London and Bristol they city's must be locked down if the virus rate goes up there and keep them there the police is to soft where is this no more than six people to be in one meeting”
Do you honestly think if the police tell these mobs to go home they will just disperse and go home

Mr Hancock said today that the overall average of the R rate is less than one so there is no issues and the easing will carry on.
So obviously the Southwest and North West are not important in the grand scheme of things,
we will suffer while the rest of the country crack on.

Mmm, funny how it’s changed since yesterday. Still, if the Govt says so, it must be right😳

If the figures revealed today of the deaths are true, and no reason to believe otherwise perhaps we are getting on top of this disease. This despite the stupid action of some. As for the protests they were as we so often see taken over by the rent a mob and anarchist, looking for trouble. Lets hope the selfish actions wont put back the progress made and all of us can begin to get back to a normal life. Myself it seems my enforced lockdown is to be extended to August 18.Awating the letter from WAG.

Unfortunately my approaching senility means I can't recall what I posted now. Clearly it seems to have caused umbrage somewhere.

Just watching Channel 4 news. Report from rain forest in Brazil. Reporter says it’s easier and faster to get a C19 Test there, than to get one in UK.🤷♀️Indigenous communities looking after themselves, self isolating as families, caring for each other. Very interesting report.

Yeah, things are way too selfish and materialistic here😁 Interesting that they use modern medicine alongside herbal remedies. Village nurse was fully trained, and they had a well stocked village clinic. Small community, I don’t think they had any deaths. These are the folks Bolsanaro doesn’t care about, happy to let progress wipe out their lives. I found it interesting.

What he stated was that all areas were below 1, including the NW and SE, so please get the facts right and don't twist words to suit your agenda. It was only the statement by one small group of scientist who said that he thought that those areas were above 1.

I see that Brazil are not going to publish the total number of their cases daily....,I wonder why!!

No what I am saying is that majority of information that he has received shows that the R rate is les than 1 in every region of the country. There are always those that hold a different view. You only have to look on here to see that!

Who knows?
As with you. Nellie, we live in NW England, but it’s a huge area. Is the “R rate “ the same in Liverpool, Manchester, Preston, Clitheroe , Roughlee, Stockport, Workington, Windermere, Penrith etc...
Maybe, but maybe not. Need testing, testing, testing...

There is no doubt in my mind that " the clowns " as you put it are trying to do what they believe is in the best interests of the country. They have said from the outset that they have been led by the science. If that is true, then it is clear, in hindsight, that they have on occasions been led by the wrong scientists. The problem is, almost every different scientist you listen to has a different opinion. In the end the politicians still have to make a decision, and there is no doubt they have made the wrong decision at times, but what annoys me is they will never admit to making the wrong decision. I think the general public would respect them a lot more if they did. Nobody is perfect.

Personally I think that the government should have closed our borders early and insisted on returners quarantining for a period.
We have scientists saying lockdown should have started earlier but given the the growing level of public protest after 7 weeks maybe not.
