July opening

Just seen an interview with Nick Lomas on You Tube, was very positive of opening up on the 4th of July subject to the Government allowing . He mentioned that a survey they did, most members intended to use their own facilities but the toilet block would be open but would mean queuing.Social distancing will be in place with marks down near site waste and water points, also at toilet blocks. Didn't mention how they would manage people in and out of the amenities block, he said they were working on how to manage the sites overall. He mentioned that he would like people to travel to near sites to home for their first trip, we had already booked Sandringham unless l here any different from the club we will travel their some 130 miles, cant see no difference in traveling sixty miles when l am in my own motorhome, tried to book contingency sites this morning, no chance all booked up near home.Anyway some positive news at last from the club but why cant they convey this on here.

Are we talking about the same video discussed in the following thread link or something else?

I'm a little amazed at the suggestion that the club should have to manage people in and out of the toilet blocks. We are adults after all and surely capable of managing our own community and socially safe actions as advised. What next, 'they' managing us whilst we are performing in the toilet blocks? Those that do choose to use the facilities, if open, should take responsibility for their actions. Now what happens if members choose not to adhere to socially distancing behaviours and stipulations which place others at risk is another thing!

Amenity blocks would have to be managed somehow but not necessarily by someone.
How would one know if just arriving without walking in just how many were already inside, or you could be waiting outside forever if it was empty.
You can't go barging in because you see no-one, there could be the maximum allowable already doing their stuff. Perhaps some kind of tally number outside, to be taken and returned on exit after sanitizing giving an indication of how many are inside.
Or nail a board across the door with a closed sign on it

I’m not surprised folks will need to be managed. We have only encountered the queuing and race to get a pitch once, but the behaviour and selfishness exhibited by some was astonishing.
Do folks really want to be queuing every time they want to have a pee or take a shower? It doesn’t fit with my idea of a relaxing, cheerful break in any shape or form. Speaking personally of course, but our desperation to get away hasn’t reached these lengths yet......🤷♀️

Easy to manage Toilet/shower blocks, if 10 is max number with social distancing just hang 10 tokens outside the block, when all 10 are taken, you wait outside until someone comes out and replaces their token on the peg, then you wipe the Token and go in. Emergencies...could use the disabled loo.
10 is just an example could be 5.
I think we are ALL going to have to adjust our ways of doing things, as the NEW 'Normal'.

Why on earth anyone with a fairly modern outfit would wish to queue to use a toilet or shower is beyond me. If you must use one then there are plenty of alternative times during the day when they are quiet but here's a novel idea. Find out how to use the one in your own outfit. Cleaner and healthier.
I know that there are some people who have disabilities and have to use the disabled toilet and shower and I can fully understand that scenario. I hope those people aren't thwarted in their desire by some inconsiderate oik deciding their needs come first.

As wardens have normally "advised" when complaints getting about queues and cleaning times "even with the facilities closed for cleaning there are still 23hrs a day for then to be used"
With the virus arround what is the problem with taking some wipes to enable a wipe of the surfaces you will be useing

Sensible idea but don't flush them down the loo as that will close the site toilets if the drains get blocked!!!

The token system would seem to be the most sensible option. Perhaps the design of the tally could help. I was reading the other day about a copper alloy that is anti viral, or at least the virus can only survive for a very short time. The suggestion was to make push plates on doors of the material.

And how long would it be before the tokens got lost, e.g. left in the shower/loo, in somebodys toilet bag, or somebody just decides to bag one for themselves so they dont have to queue, and we are not just talking adults here, whatever system is put in place it has to be child proof

Just leave the blocks closed, adjust the site fee and let people use their own facilities. They may even be able to open the sites earlier with less administrative hassle.

It’s the “Jacob Rees Mogg” model. You take something that functions perfectly well with 21st century technology, then apply a huge dose of bungled thinking, and bingo.......you are back in a time warp. In terms of camping think the 1950s when toilets weren’t around, and camping was only for the brave.......😂

What I said all along until such time as we can go back to a more normal way of life, those who do not have onboard facilities or do not want to use their own can wait until later, only block to open would be disabled for obvious reasons but would have to be cleaned after each use somehow.

I agree with keeping the shower blocks closed, but doubt the club will rejuce the fees because of the increase in electricity usage instead of LPG gas.

I would imagine that bacteria etc gets onto surfaces you touch in the toilets such as flush handles, door latches etc. What do you do about those.? There is really no easy cost effective manner to control entry. Placing a warden on the doors is hardly sensible.

The local Supermarket toilets and washbasins were open this morning - with a good supply of soap, and sanitiser was available in dispensers by the door handles. Staff were checking and cleaning the toilet area every hour. Another member of staff was sanitising trolley handles before each customer took one and more dispensers were available in the store. Is this beyond what the Club can manage to do ?
