Price reduction on club sites

MM..... I have a question😁 Do Heinz make beans for Tesco? We like their low sugar and salt beans, but had a bit of bother getting them so we opted for ordinary Tesco beans. They were fine, just a bit too sweet for us. Reduced sugar and salt are back on list now. Steve, Tesco do beans with little sausages, including a veggie variety, nice as well😋
Definitely reduced range of products in Tesco, it’s only one we use for deliveries. Aldi don’t seem to have lost any of their regulars, but then Aldi range of products has always varied.
How many folks will be rushing out to shops when they re open? It’s not something we will do. But we don’t shop very much anyway. Might have a day browsing round a place with some nice independent shops, (think Totnes, Helmsley, North Berwick type of places) but it’s rare for us to shop in chain type stores. I even did a Boots order online this week, only because what I wanted wasn’t in stock anywhere else. Even with small postage cost it was cheaper than getting car out, queuing, etc..... Shopping in shops of any kind way down our list of priorities. Unless it’s a nursery.......🤷♀️🤔😂

I won't be shopping in shops if I can possibly avoid it.
I had an email the other day from M&S offering deliveroo deliveries. Got excited 😀 very limited items available so had to go in person, such a shame they weren't up and running deliveries as they planned before the lockdown.
M&S are charging postage but free to collect in store. I went in there yesterday for some 'nice' bits. Wouldn't have thought they'd want folks queuing, as it always was a popular station 😉. Not cheaper for me as it would be a walk in and home, but what's £3.50 in the great scheme if things? Actually it's a couple of casual shirts for OH - couldn't get him to buy 3 to get 4th free even to get free postage 🤣. He's not easily tempted

We don’t have an M&S local, so it’s all online for me. I seldom buy their overpriced food, so don’t miss this. If I want something I get together with Sister and we share any postage. Our only M&S food Hall is a very small one buried deep inside our big hospital😱 It’s ok for a 2am sandwich if you are on night shift caring for a loved one.........they discount the prices after midnight😂

including contents of envelopes if i know they're not automatically placed there eg bank statements.in fact it it stays still long enough itll get a wipe down
A good case for going paper free including magazines. There is not much I get in an envelope these days.

OH had two appointments at our local Hospital(urgent care centre) ,no masks being worn by staff, on the way home passed Aldi no queue at 1530 ,so popped in and got what we wanted, with just one in front a checkout
Big queue at Nottcuts earlier 30mins but were giving out umbrellas as sun shades

Not keen on too much paperless financial stuff in case of sudden demise 😉. Also theres the issue of passwords etc......
Having applied for new accounts recently online there are hitches! NS&I wouldn't accept OH email address, nothing wrong with it he's had it for about 30 years 😱. Had to put mine in to get any further, if you were talking to a human..... No point in phoning or even trying for an online chat whilst applying.
Some things, like consent for headstone additions and permissions still paper........

I gave blood yesterday and was surprised the staff were just wearing masks (optional for donors) and not more PPE. They were complaining they made them hot, just wondering what all the fuss about PPE was where a very close contact procedure like taking someones blood only needed a mask and a questionnaire to ask if the donor had symptoms or been in contact with someone who had Covid 19.
I was asked to go to the loo to wash my hands then had to touch two door handles to get out so not sure that was worthwhile

At a time when many are having to get by on reduced income, and when we will all be facing future tax hikes, I think they could slow down a bit on the improvements, and stop expanding the site network for a few years, especially in areas that are already well served.
Right now the Club income is vastly reduced, but they also have much lower outgoings, like many others. My OH looks after the finances for our local Guide Hall, they have had no income since the lockdown, but also no expenditure on gas and electricity. They have however still to pay for the grounds to be maintained, and a very large amount for property insurance.
This they are able to do because they have been building up their reserves over the last 15-20 years, rather than spending all they get in each year.

Just a bit of an update on what we were doing re COVID and sowing bits from the previous visits to the site .... John Brockley is applying for his Equity Card! 🤣🤣
Looking at the aerial pictures of the site shows just how big it is .... no wonder I'm knackered when I get home 😉

MM thanks for that. We like a lot of the Aldi soups👍

It'll be the only diet you can afford after paying the site fees.

Ive been shocked to learn the summer break at schools is still on. It was only yesterday a group of ministers were bemoaning the children have lost 2 months of education they will never get back. . .Err why not cancel the 6 weeks & recoup 75% of the education lost🤷🏻♂️

Heinz are watery, Branston are the best😊👍🏻

I've had to resort to buying those, as I can't get the Heinz variety with the little sausages. No comparison a very glue like sauce.👎 A poor substitute. The cheaper Tesco ones are better, but I can't get an online delivery with them lately.☹️

It wasn’t a recommendation SL, just my choice👍🏻. I dislike washed out flavours. Like folk who say they like curry. . .Korma🤷🏻♂️, Korma is chicken soup with some herbs☹️. It’s what we grow up with I guess, gruel was never on my menu😊

Ah, a man with taste😃. I completely agree that Branston have more flavour and more beans. I was forced to buy Heinz when there was a shortage and I was shocked to find the can had around 30% sauce and it tasted wishy washy. Fortubately, I'm back to Branston now 👍

We're back to bean counting 😂😂

not sure this is on topic, but although i agree, many who are teachers may not e.g. some teachers have done very little work since lockdown began, some teachers have been going into school to teach key workers children, some teachers have been doing online teaching, so what you are wanting to happen is for all teachers to give up what is for them normally 6 weeks holiday not sure the unions are going to agree to this
