In my opinion surely for the short term it would be better for the sites to open but keep the toilet and shower blocks closed .Most units now have their own on board facilities and we would be more than happy to use our own . I also would not expect a discount ,the reason for this being that the sites have taken a massive financial hit and they need every bit of help they can get to recover from this period.I will just be glad to get back out and about .   Just my opinion of course😉

I’m telling you, the blighters need to shower before going in, all that sun tan oil, make up, spit, flaky skin, it all floats around in top six inches, coats tiles and pool sides, nightmare😁 Put a sign up saying water has been treated with a special dye that leaves a trail if anyone pees in it.....

I started my working life as a Pool Lifeguard, Summer job as a PE student. Group of us, we were like Rottweilers watching folks going into Leisure Pool, often made some get into shower, or wash their feet. 😎

Get Club to send you on a Pool Plant Operators Course, three days intense study, you’ll never go in a pool again! When we went on conference, usually Torquay, we used to take our test kits with us, and none of us would use the Spas or pools until we had tested them.😂😱

In my view, that's a bit disparaging to the club to suggest 'even they' wouldn't stoop that low.

I don't feel they will be seeking to profiteer unduly from any process. The protocols that will need to be put in place will cost extra, and talk seems to be around opening on-site facilities in a reduced way to cater for all needs.

There are, of course, club and CL sites well priced for those not requiring all the services either.

Hi TW ,I am asking this question with the greatest of respect,if you are so unhappy with the Club and have lost all your respect for it,why remain a member ,that doesn’t make sense to me or am I missing something? Just curious to know really.

😉 You don't need to respond .... but the Caravan Club is just another private firm that would like your money!

We've already had this conversation, BJ, in your thread about what has happened to the club.

To remind you, my membership is paid until Autumn and, at that point I will seriously consider not renewing. My membership until now has been solely to gain use of the sites.

If you watched 'Inside the Factory' this evening, you'll see some of measures Heinz have put in place due to COVID-19 ... it all costs money! Apparently the camera at the entrance alone cost £15k ..... Maybe Heinz can put a couple of pence on each can to help pay for it .... And maybe Tesco/ASDA/etc can put a couple of quid on your shopping to help pay for all the perspex screens and extra staff stood outside keeping tabs on who gets into the store

Yes I totally understand that the Caravan & Motorhome Club is a business and to that end I also understand that it has to make a profit to enable it to improve and expand its site network and pay all its staff .

Yes at Tesco you can only buy individual 57 beans, no multipacks any more. Limit of 3 cans too. Mind you it saves on the plastic wrapping. Double edged again 😉

‘Less plastic’ is a quandary right now apparently B2, the move away from plastic is being looked at again because-on plastic surfaces the virus has the least survival period whereas wood products(paper & cardboard) it can survive longer to infect. When asked about the Marine life a Govt spokesperson countered-‘Human life is paramount’. It’ll be interesting how this all plays out for sure👍🏻

It was Tesco that requested less plastic ie no multi packs in unnecessary plastic film.

Loads of 'fun machinery' .... it's only in recent years that some of the original kit has been removed .... it was only 50 odd years old!

Personally I have never counted them but I think there are more than 57 in a tin?!!

You don't seem to be able to get the Heinz ones with the little sausages anymore. Not online shopping anyway. I have had to switch to other makes.☹️

Bookings are being taken from 4th July, I'm sure that many are making preparations for their first trip away. The latest "update" on here is from 10th May. I for one would like some idea as to how CAMC intend to open up the sites, what facilities will be available and any rules that will be applicable. I'm sure that planning is taking place but some update to the members would be nice.  Just over four weeks to go which I'm sure will go very quickly! I've booked for a few days from 12th July but may look at alternatives if nothing is forthcoming from the club. I don't want to have to change plans at the last minute.

One of the biggest cons ,is the price of things that at first glance has not gone up in price or is "an offer" only to note that the actual food product is a reduced amount for your money

I am sure we would all like an insight into what is being considered. However, some of the conditions may be imposed, so it would be difficult for them to be precise at the moment. As to July 4th or even 12th. That will very much depend on the affects of this latest unlocking, which won't be known for 2 weeks. The earlier lifting of restrictions seems to have resulted in a flattening of the death rate. OK it's not going up but far from good news.
