As the Caravan & Motorhome Club is opening on the 1st July what time will you be allowed to get on site is it going to be after 12pm or is it before that time as no one is on the pitches. Can you imagine the queue to book in and get the pitch you want. and also the queue waiting. Some sites Like Hillhead don't have much space in the entrance and queueing on the narrow road would be very dangerous. Will you be fighting over the pitches.yell

This date is incorrect but has not been confirmed although likely to be 4th July.

Fighting?😳 1st of July?? 🤔Chill, the government has made no statement whatsoever about a definitive opening date! Just possibllities if all goes well in the coming weeks. That's up to us in many ways!

Having looked at quite a few sites re opening it looks like Saturday the 4th July an interesting day to open. We just have to wait until head office inform us of the date.

I thought the plan was to open things up on 4th July, providing things 'go according to plan'.  This is the government plan, not the Club or individual sites.  The 4th July is for the projected opening of 'hospitality' which everyone assumes includes Caravan and Camping (together with Hotels, pubs etc), but social distancing will still be in place.  This is my understanding.

I won't be fighting over pitches on the first day of opening, although waiting to get away in the caravan I have no intention of being part of a first day rush. I'll leave it a few weeks and have booked for end of August into September, and even that can be cancelled if necessary.

The 'shine' has sort of gone regarding getting away this year.

Wales is a long way off opening as you can only travel 5 miles from your home so you need to live pretty close to a Club Site to visit. At the moment Wales is working at least 2 weeks behind England as that is when the virus peaked here.

We in Scotland are asked to travel no more than 5 miles at the moment and I doubt if sites will be opening very soon.  Frankly, I wouldn't be going anywhere until we get much more information about risks and mitigation strategies.

There has been very little information coming out of either Clubs about their thinking on how to open up safely.  The CEO should be giving weekly updates instead of remaining silent.  Very disappointing.

Morris Leisure have indicated that  all being well they will open on 1st August in Wales and 14th July in England. Its unclear exactly what will be available but they do not rule out the central facilitiies and communal areas initially being closed. The did send out a survey seeking views from past customers.

As all sites are confirmed as closed until then end of June ,then i would not take 1st July as  gospel for an opening date,it is just the next months calendarwink

Originally sites were closed until 30 June so the booking system accepted bookings from 1 July. It's only in more recent times that 4 July has been stated as the earliest likely opening date but you know how it goes, left hand and right hand.🙄

We have a booking from last year for a non club site from 2nd July albeit we are not expecting to be able to arrive before 4th at the earliest. Unfortunately they are booked up at the other end of our stay so cannot extend to offset the days lost.

The next up date on relaxation of the lockdown is now going to be the end of the month ,So it will be a bit late unless the tourist industry get advance notice,   for an early July opening of sitessurprised

What ever happens we are in no hurry to book anything. It is better to see what develops and we will take pot luck if we do decide to have a few days away. I have more or less written of any long touring breaks this year.

My understand is that this is only confirmation of a booking, not of opening! Good that we can book just in case the lockdown relaxation does take place. Think the government also mentioned/suggesting the possibility of limiting distance traveled and minimising the length of stay once they gave the go ahead date to open.

It may be that the site is not "full" beyond your hopefull booking,  but as IMHO sites will not be opening all the pitches to give social distancing and less on site peoplefrown

No one has answered that real point of the OP, namely : does anyone expect Club sites to allow early arrivals since sites are currently empty.

The answer to the OP's question is that we ordinary folk with no access to the club's thinking have no more idea than he/she has. Even JVB doesn’t seem to know🤷🏻‍♂️

    What's your opinion?

He also asked if you will fight!☹️ I think the answer is keep on the front foot, wait for the government's guidance and stipulations and, in due course, one step at a time, we'll find out!

I think that the 1 July arose because the club said closed up to 30 June. We are booked from 1 July but expecting that the first part of our trip will be cancelled or perhaps all of it if opening is delayed.

We have booked trips right up to and over Christmas working on the premise that things should return to something like normal at some point.

We have no safety concerns with club sites. The pitches are an appropriate distance apart and it would be easy to keep social distance when moving around the site. Hopefully the social distance will be lowered as things improve.

Briang have you spoken/emailed the club regarding it?

I think you might get something slightly better then CT hypothonising 🤣🤣. You could then come back and update us all as it seems unlikely the club will if past experience is anything to go back!

No axe to grind myself, we don't have a motorhome at present 😢

I do hope the Club will do joined up thinking on this one. Could be two queues at certain Sites, one for those finally allowed to access their outfits stored, and another for those desperate to get their dream pitch on the same Site.......😂

Morris Leisure seem to have got their act together and put out some very good information around what, why and when about their sites. States clearly what visitors can expect.

    https://www.morris-leisure.co.uk/social-distancing-measures.htm

Hopefully Club will do something similar in next couple of weeks, and then all the speculation around prices, loo blocks etc.... will be much clearer.
