That will hurt them, a lot.

what Spain, along with a couple of other countries are saying, is that our infection rate is higher than they would like to make for safe passage into Spain, but believe me, Spain need Uk holiday makers and their Euro's so it is unlikely that they will refuse Brits entry or insist on self isolating measures that are not condusive for having a holiday,,,watch this space, i think is what they are saying, why do you think Mr O'leary is already scheduling 100's of flights into Spain ?

Covid for Euros, don`t think so.
We campers know how to behave and on campsites is the distancing much easier. I would not want to go on a hotel holiday anywhere at the moment.
And with the way Covid is being dealt within the UK, Government wise (Bless and praise the NHS) I would also be cautious about letting the Brits in.
Coming to the UK and having a 14 day self isolation is also a stopper for foreign visitors/campers.
So, their is no easy answer really.
O´Leary only thinks of profit and not his passengers. All aboard for the Covid express.

I dont disagree, however, have just FT my daughter who is a Spanish resident and lives and teaches in Spain, and they have been informed today that as the emergency government procedures that are currently inforce end on the 21st June, and looks as though they will not be re-inforced , internally Spain will revert to normal regional operations and then it will be the responsibility of the regional councils to decide who enters their particular region.
I did speak to our regular campsite in Mazarron last week and they were more than happy to have us visit, they stated that infections/deaths in the Murcia region had been relatively small and they were open for business and to contact them mid August to firm up on a booking, if we go we will cross Portsmouth/Caen so only 5 hours on ferry which should not be a problem, and then most of our time in caravan thru France/Spain, much safer than an O'Leary Covid Express.

Evening
I have spoken to our campsite owner in southern Murcia and have had an email reply from the local mayor regarding our return there in September. If all goes well we will be welcome there with open arms. We intend using the Plymouth to Santander route as Brittany Ferries will have safety measures in place and it's only an 11 hour drive to our site. I do this in one just stopping for rest breaks along the way.
We'd love to tour around Greece and it's islands as we used to holiday there in the 80's and 90's, such a lovely country

Heard a few days ago from our place in Lanzarote that the island was clear of Covid, great news.
Then, only one day later we heard that a flight from Madrid arrived with a man on board who had tested positive for Covid.
He had boarded the flight before waiting for the result of his test.
However the powers that be, called ahead to Lanzarote and the plane was met by medical teams.
There was 140 people on that flight, the people closest to the man have been put into isolation and will be tested, the rest have been advised to self isolate for 14 days. I believe the man in question is going to face charges.
It was a plane from Madrid that brought Covid to the island on 12th March.

It was the people from Madrid that escaped lock down and fled to the coastal resorts of mainland Spain that first spread the disease throughout Spain
oh! and the fact that we did not stop all European flights into the UK probably the Uk as well

There’s a Govt briefing going on at the moment, science advisors have indicated that much of the UK case spread originated from Spain, France and Italy. Hardly surprising since a large percentage of travellers use these close neighbouring countries for holidays. Most visitors will have been unaware they had got the virus.
I don’t think Spain or Greece are being unreasonable, it’s to be expected that countries will be wary of re welcoming visitors from other countries if their case levels are still high.
Greece appears to have done a remarkable job in dealing with the virus. Who can blame them for being cautious at this stage.
