My club are doing their best to keep fans interested by showing some recent matches in their entirety.

Ive enjoyed reliving a few so far from the promotion season and our first season in the greedy league.

Yesterday five of the first team did FaceTime chats with children who had a birthday or whose parents were key workers, mainly NHS.

The club have also posted articles highlighting the roles of members of the backroom staff.

Money talks and the EFL have told Clubs to pencil in 16th May as a date to resume training, in preparation for games behind closed doors.

Online comments about the proposals range from the serious [how often/what method of testing players, how will players be protected from the inevitable saliva discharge during play etc]; to the ridiculous [how will defenders stay 2 metres away from opposition forwards?] tongue-out.

I'm proud to say that my team Aston Villa, pioneered the methodology about 4 seasons ago. Sice then, no Villa defender has got within 2 metres of an opposition forward in any game, hence the worst defensive record in the League. And there was me thinking it was because they're rubbish rather than trailblazers of a health initiative ...sealed.

Villa also pioneered an earlier initiative, by playing Lord Lucan at centre forward. He was able to avoid detection by failing to register on the scoresheet for 5 years ... But the Villa goalie should be safe from coronavirus because he hasn't caught anything for over 2 years.

Another vote for "The English Game on Netflix" as a Blackburn native who lived in Darwen as a child, it made me very proud, even if they did butcher history to make it a more interesting story.

I see that League 2 have decided that they would like to end the season now but that they want three teams promoted and no relegation.

If that isn't wanting your cake and eat it I don't know what is.🤓

Don't know where that puts local team, as it's top of it's division and should get promotion. Could well result in court action yet.

Yes I feel sorry for teams like Barrow, where I believe we've a player on loan.

Now apparently they're talking about combining League 2 with the  National League and making a League 2 North  and a League 2 South.

That'll be a blast from the past when there used to be Third Division North and Third Division South, which I always thought was because of the cost and difficulty of travel in the pre motorway era.

If League 2 get their way that will mean The Alex being promoted Brian😀😀😀

As much as I'd like to see t'Alex up there in Division One again Mate,   I cannot reconcile my thoughts of Promotion / Relegation etc with some 'manufactured end of season results'  Roger, t'aint natural to my simple mind frown

Scrub this season and Start again in September at the earliest is my view, I'm afraid.

I'm right there with you on this Brian. My view is that the season should be declared null and void. You could make a case for declaring Liverpool Premier league champions after all they only need two more wins and Man City would have to win all their remaining matches and Liverpool lose all theirs to go above them.

I thought I had read that the  league in Colombia had done this when they voided their season at the beginning of the pandemic because their league leaders were in a similar position.

However money talks in football so I'm also sure they'll try to cobble together some scheme. They keep talking about protecting the integrity of the game, indeed the word integrity seems to be almost as well used as unprecedented. IMHO integrity is the last thing they've shown so far.

Rant over. Stay safe UTT Rog

Haven't seen that information anywhere, although it wouldn't surprise me if it did happen. Barrow may be fortunate in that they could be promoted to fill the place left when Bury folded. I'm sure they'd take it if offered if the league's decide to null and void the season.

Only that the clubs are to start training, under strict rules re numbers, hygiene and social distancing etc. The players/staff are to undergo virus tests this week, and 6 already have tested positive, and so have to self isolate for 7 days. Troy Deeney has said that he will not go into training to protect his family's health, and others may well follow suit.

Premier league clubs are supposed to be starting training today and Championship clubs are to start testing some players on Thursday and Friday

League 1 are deciding what to do on Friday and the smart money is on them following League 2

Whilst I wouldn't dream of accusing the football authorities of double standards 😇 They seem to have moved the goalposts (see what I did there🤔), I must confess to being a bit confused.

Before all this began we were looking forward to a home match and on the Friday everything came grinding to a halt because one team's manager (Mikel Arteta) tested positive for Covid 19.

Fast forward to this week and they announce themselves delighted because only 6 of the players and staff tested were positive and Project Restart will be steaming ahead.

I expect that when the games are live on TV, a lot of people might be tempted to “visit “ their pals to watch the game.

Take a few beers round, order home food delivery....stay for a few more drinks...probably more risky than going to the match.

    😱

There's a comprehensive list of all the televised PL matches in today's Times page 57 outlining 36 matches across Sky, BT and BBC no doubt there'll be a list of the Championship matches soon. As for Leagues 1&2 they haven't decided whether or not they're playing yet I think.

Town are giving season ticket holders freee access to ifollow for all the remaining  games both home and away. Non season ticket holders will have to pay £10 per game.

I think the list I mentioned above is free to view since Sky are apparently showing all the PL games and a few of the Championship games, for instance Town v Forest is on, and obviously the BBC matches will be free.
