When the lockdown ends

Great announcement by the government about making the A66 dual carriageway, that should certainly speed up journey times for many of us tuggers. Now if they could do the same for the A47/A17 it could be with a song and a smile all the way to the lakes🌞

Agreed , nothing wrong with a bit of banter,
on a different tack booked almost 3 months over there yesterday only because i had a credit note from BF valid 2 years but got an additional 20pct off if made booking before 31st July. So with all this lovely cash 2 spend i thought why not and if things dont stack up as they are flexi tickets I can reschedule at my leisure.
Who knows there may be a massive rush to book UK sites between now and October once all parties get their act together and a massive rush to book ferries and would hate to be disappointed especially as we are having such glorious weather and cannot take full advantage of it, good luck to all those wardens furloughed but still on site, must be having a great time, enjoy, envious

oh no!, my worst nightmare, VW report a 250pct increase in requests for quotes for its £55k California and 100 pct for its £72k Grand California, obviously a lot of people with a lot of money and probably wanting to staycation once lockdown has ended. , and i thought that i was being extravagant forking out £10k on a caravan

If that transpires into more units on site, we could see a bigger scramble than ever to get pitches. I can see the anti weekender/anti full weeker/anti book early threads already🙂
Like you, I booked a pitch for Sept a while ago as I guessed a lot of others may want the same.

It can't have run its course as lockdown has not ended. The situation is ongoing.

We have a site booked in September. But our booking will be cancelled no doubt end of this month🤔

Why would a booking in September be cancelled by the site? However these articles appeared in yesterdays Telegraph:
Moderator Comment - I can only see these in landscape so I have added in portrait format, right click on image to open in a new window.

I would book a site if I knew what the plans were for the sites, will it be the same as usual or what can I expect? I looked at a CAMC site in September and it was fully booked on some days. How crowded will that site be?
I'll probably stick to a CL as long as they stick to the 5 van rule!

I have bookings for mid July August September and New Year and I fully expect to be going. As we never use the shower blocks which I'm certain will be closed any way as a method of social distancing I don't see a problem in reopening early July. Of course just my opinion.

Apologies, I should have given more information. We won’t be Members at the end of this month. Not sure if bookings stay for non members. It’s not a problem, the event we were going to see has been cancelled, and we only book in advance for events, otherwise we tour on the wheel. We know of lots of other places to stay if we decide to go. 😀

I fully expect to cancel my booking for those reasons, Brue, but I grabbed it while it was available, knowing it's a site that's usually fully booked, on the off chance that things will be better. Some chance!😀

Plans are afoot for the A47/A17 see here It might not result in the entire route being improved but the more complete sections that come on stream the more pressure there is to finish the job!

still waiting for the three short sections of the A303 to be finished after 30 odd years...notwithstanding the Stonehenge issue, the other couple of sections would be (have been) so easy to resolve....

sorry BB quite a solid performance i thought, especially as Durham Constabularly cant get their story straight , no evidence to suggest he made 2 trips to Durham either ...fake news...
lets hope he cracks on and he is responsible for bringing us out of lock down swifty so we can all start to enjoy our LV's

havent seen tonights press conference....too busy enjoying myself
my 'pony' comment was no reflection on what you think of BJ but of the 'treatment' that sort of support might receive on CT.
however, you're going great, stick to your guns
i see the numbers are looking better again today...
Of the 59 new deaths announced on Sunday:
19 occurred on 24 May
28 occurred on 23 May
Five occurred on 22 May
The remaining seven new deaths took place between16 and 21 May...a long way to go but we certainly wont beat this by looking backwards and complaining, but by doing what we all know....however 'muddy' some think the 'mesage' is...
for the vast majority, nothing has changed...look after one's own nose, perhaps?

I reckon if Boris was to get rid of Mr Cummins, he ( Cummins) would have no trouble in getting a job in acting or storytelling. Having said that, I think we have now heard enough about this and the media should get back to reporting real news.

It will not be long before the "truth?"is unearthed ,as it will not just be the Hacks from the papers who broke the news ,but all those with an "interest" in making some headlines, DC with his arrogant attitude will be the target for some time to come

I can remember many years ago, 1 of my daughters was teaching in Kuwait, it was the time of the Iraq invasion of Kuwait and after seeing a tomahawk missile fly down her street she was desparate to get home, but flights were very restricted, because of my job i was in a position to pull a few strings and get her on a flight the very next day. DC was looking after his family, and in his words taking them somewhere were they would not be harrassed by the media and could self islolate in relative safety, and until somebody comes up with evidence to suggest otherwise he gets my vote.

Unfortunately, he's not an elected politician so his future is outside of our control.
