    Thanks TW, interesting.

It would be interesting to know how:-

"rigorous cleaning of all communal areas and we will increase the number of times they are cleaned, in particular the significant touchpoints and limit the amount of people who can use the amenities at any one time"

they will limit the number who can use them. Other than restrict the number on site.

Perhaps a tally system. Take a tally off the board on entry, replace it when you leave. No tally and you don't go in.🤔

We will help with the limiting, quite happy and safer to use our own facilities.

I thought the comment of 6m between pitches was a little misleading as, although vans are 6m apart, we know that cars/awning reduce that gap to 3m. Whilst that’s still more than the social distancing space of 2m, it doesn’t leave a lot of leeway when folk are out and about getting in/out of cars etc, especially if that family group contains children who will inevitably run around.

PS. We mustn’t forget pitch crossers who may further reduce that 3m space and get too close. 😶

I also worked for AZ, they now pay my pension 🙂

I don’t think their labs are developing the vaccine, but are preparing to synthesize and produce the molecule once it’s identified.
Fingers crossed for a good result. 🙂

Sites in the summer can seem very crowded especially when big awnings are in use. The 6m rule might be in use but you'd hardly notice it!

It might be an idea for the club to temporarily change some awning pitches to non awning. They've permanently changed some at various sites to accommodate spacing requirements. Meathop Fell (Grange over Sands) springs to mind. Even take a few out to make larger spacing.

They could of course not allow any awnings or canopies at all, thus ensuring more space.

I wonder where the DG got the number of CL's from, as at the last check there were 2167 on the web site, so quite a few less than the 2300 quoted, and I suspect that the actual number will be a good lot fewer this far into the virus.

Obviously not!! And I bet he doesn't care either. The inclusion of an incorrect figure say it all really, and it appears to be just another sound bite, by inflating the number, in pushing his case for rapid opening.

It’s disappointing that we had to read this elsewhere. I’ve searched this site and failed to find it. Is it me?😟

To enable social distancing and to not have to many trying to use the faciliries at one time those who arrive at the miday rush get a poor slot for shower etc

, The later you arrive up to 1700 when most offices close  the slot you are allocated is more amenable ie 0800-0900,,

Spare? slots can also be sold to the highest bidder with the money going to help recoup the cost of the lockdown , and add cleaning anti viral materials neededsurprised

Indeed, as you guessed that why I suggested it. That of course had compliance. Wether the same would happen on a CC site, I am unsure.🤔

Academic to us. We won’t be Members come 31st May. I doubt we will look to any kind of overnight stay on a Site before maybe September or October, and it’s highly likely to be small and remote, and we shall be totally self contained. The last thing on my mind is sharing toileting and showering facilities with anyone else, regardless of how much disinfectant, anti bac wiping or shuffling of humans goes on. Sorry, but not for us. 🤔

Probably not for us either, can only contemplate CLs or CSs at the moment and that seems like a long way off too.

Perhaps both he and the marketing department realise that, because of the foibles of the club's own website, more members read PC than bother to log onto the web site for club information.

Can't see us being on a club site any time soon. If we do, then it will be towards the end of the season and will be treating it as a CL.

Hope we don't all turn up on that remote CL we all seem to be heading for.smile

I can think of a little beauty. It’s got no ehu, grass pitches, and is a heck of a close shave for anything longer than six metres! Step out 10 metres, and you have lovely canal side for walking and cycling! All we have ever shared it with is a couple of ponies😂

I have to say, I thought Nick Lomas's letter to Professor Whitty was well written and thought out.  It may not convince folk to get in their caravan and go out on July 4th, or whenever, but there seems to be a lot of sense in what he is saying.  If the 'R' rate improves and we are able to either social distance or even almost isolate away on site  then perhaps we might consider taking the caravan out sooner than we might have otherwise have thought.

David, I don’t suppose you know any more than us but have you any idea why the letter appeared in Practical Caravan but no mention was made on the club's own website?

I can’t totally agree with you about it being well thought out but it’s good to learn, albeit from another source, that the club is making plans of some sort.
