Well we've just had our "stay alert" work zoom meeting and we're all none the wiser!

As there is no specific mention of Optometrists in the government's plans we are awaiting instructions on what to do from NHS England (who have a terrible track record in the Optical world) and the Association of Optometrists. We could be opening for routine appointments on the 1st June and then again we could not be.....If we are opening I will be back to work next Tuesday (as we've got a list of 1500 patients to ring to rearrange appointments we had to cancel at lockdown). Hopefully I'll find out before Monday! The good news is our boss has secured us full medical ppe, the bad news is I'll have to use the metro to commute.

The uncertainty is the most stressful part of it all😢

I have this evening received an emal from NT and they are getting ready to open some car parks in England only  that do not have facilities another email by the weekend to advise what and where

PS the  latest from this weeks advise for Vunerable 70+ and those some health issues is still to stay home , but if going out, to take extra care if near others  (no mention of travelling for exerciseas )for younger generations

Those with severe health issues is still to not go out

(extracted from HMG latest 50page document

PPs just a thought if over 70s or any advised to stay at home, have an RTA or any other type of accident ,would their innsurances do the "wriggle" as some have with cover for businesses

I spoke to my boss today, it looks like work is going to be put on hold until this all sorts itself out. We are not looking to restarting our training programme until September due to the reasons I stated in an earlier post.

Possibly get back to the office for planning etc in July,

But as I am the Workplace risk assessor, its on my say so, now there's a responsibility I don't care for at the moment after listening to tonight's briefing regarding prosecution if you get H&S wrong regarding Covid safety frown

I just hope any guidance is reasonable and direct.

Having recently SORNed the MH, it isn't worth thinking about retaxing it until we have full mobility and there are some destinations that are open.

    Rhyl?

“Blackley by the sea” as my Welsh 92 year old Mum still calls it.

The Welsh tend to give the delightful place a very wide berth.

    😱😱😱

Dont follow your logic. We wait with bated breath that the easing does not cause a spike.as this disease is indiscriminate, crosses borders and deadly. I dont do Rant, but am plain speaking and dont suffer fools.

There will be many spikes, Sth Korea is classed as the most advanced nation re dealing with covid-19 yet are spiking now. It is inevitable that it will become another annual enemy. After an effective vaccine is available it will be less lethal. No country can isolate forever.

Not too difficult, but a little confusing for those who really want to interpret the guidance sensibly, they are little concern. Even during lockdown at it's most rigorous we all were aware of the stupid minority, they still are out there.

So you can now visit houses and sales people in them with a view to purchase but visiting loved ones? Also, we can go sit on benches or visit parks etc. but not rendezvous with several loved ones who don't live in our house. We were also told that if anyone shows a Covid symptom, mild or otherwise, they must remain in lockdown and not venture out. Now how many with that slight tickly cough, or a touch of fatigue or a mild sore throat, or slightly sore eyes will ignore these mild symptoms and still go out and mingle. I suspect quite a few.

Micky boy if you’re that panic stricken & stressed with the outside world I’d not go out tbh🤷🏻‍♂️. You are looking for every negative to the tiniest detail & stressing. Follow your own sense & guidance👍🏻

Rhyl used to be very popular with folk from Merseyside and Wirral. Not sure that makes a negative view mind.

IMO this government has got it all backwards and needs to consult more. So one part of our Island can drive as far as they want to walk! And the others can't, why not just all move together, it seems they are getting the same scientific advice? Then they talk of seeing other family members in a bubble. Bit late with that, yesterday I would have been delighted to meet up with our daughter and granddaughters, we have been nowhere and neither have they, so I would feel safe. BUT today our 15 year old granddaughter is, quite legally, meeting her friend in the park, she knows to stay apart but two girls gossiping and giggling? let's hope so. Then the 6 year old will return to school, I won't feel safe in a 'bubble' then. Then Boris says go to the sea for a swim. Our RNLI were on tv last night saying DON'T go for a swim because we are not on the beaches, we are not there to advise on rip tides. We can't stay apart and we have no PPE! Apparently Boris also said go for a swim alone. RNLI - DON'T go alone as if you get into difficulties no one will know. To me it all seems a#@e backwards!

Im not, just think leadership could have been more helpful and believe we should question, it's in our communities interests. As an aside, responsibility has now been passed to us, so we do need clear and consistent messages which clearly at present we are not getting when we most need them.

The biggest mistake that HMG have made with the slight easing of the lockdown ,was suggesting that all members of this countries population will use common sense with their actions , to keep others as well as themselves safe ("they are stiil amongst us!!"surprised

As i posted elsewhere ,it seems some insurance companies are refusing to pay out to businesses even though they have cover? for what is affecting them,

It will be interesting if the same will happen if those  of us that are in the vunerable groups ,have an RTA or other accident when out and  not following the latest gov guidelinesundecided

You dont get the Souse class system-  Working class go to Rhyl. Posh go to Haven Pwllheli and the ultra posh to Abersoch.  Some of my best friends are scousers and they see the funny side. Friends dont worry about " "correctness".
