but many live in Wales but work in England ,
This is what the Welsh government are saying
The Welsh Government has warned that people in England are not allowed to travel to Wales for exercise
note "Exercise"
and they will enforce it with this

Good.
What you do not seem to get M is that your friend, reportedly, said today (after the latest government announcements) that they will no longer be able to stop folk driving. I merely pointed out that there was no loss as they no longer needed to stop folk driving with regard to the present virus. Simple really and little to do with yourself directly

It will be like the old days on a Sunday and the pubs in Wales didn’t open and their populations used to come over the border to use our pubs. Our local pub just outside Ross on Wye used to be packed by 7pm Sunday evening, busier than a Saturday night

To be honest fish you’ve probably destroyed welsh tourism singlehanded with your attitude🤷🏻♂️, your Country relies on all those nasty London trespassers for the very survival of the Welsh economy☹️

No, Alan, please read my posts before commenting. Our conversation was early this morning before today's "clarification" and after her briefing at the end of last night's shift. (I have said that before).I really can't make it any clearer - shall we leave it there or would you care to confess that you really hadn't taken in all that I had written.

Perhaps you and your friend failed to take in all that BOJO said on Sunday?
'And from this Wednesday, we want to encourage people to take more and even unlimited amounts of outdoor exercise.
You can sit in the sun in your local park, you can drive to other destinations, you can even play sports but only with members of your own household.
You must obey the rules on social distancing and to enforce those rules we will increase the fines for the small minority who break them.'
I take it that you will confess that you did not take in all that was said as it was clear to me that folk could drive to other destinations as of Wednesday. I assumed that your friend would have been aware of that.

Better give Dynarod a call unless it's a ploy to ensure social distancing.

We will welcome everyone to Wales once this disease is eradicated. What is plainly obvious is that a small minority will seek every way to stretch or surpass what to most of us is common sense. Those people would not be welcomed anywhere.

Blimey, Alan, you don't give up do you? I don't think, and more to the point, neither did Wiltshire Police think (at the time) that Boris in any way implied that folk would be able to drive outside their own locality.
Good to see you back on the forum Alan, but to be honest, I'm getting a bit fed up with this "sniping and nit picking" - feel free to have the last word, but I am quite content that I have made the point I was trying to make crystal clear.

'And from this Wednesday, we want to encourage people to take more and even unlimited amounts of outdoor exercise.
You can sit in the sun in your local park, you can drive to other destinations, you can even play sports but only with members of your own household.'PM at questions has stated that they don't want and you shouldn't drive across the country for your exercise it is just to allow persons to access larger green areas to go for a walk etc.
But again how do you police it without putting journey distance ( 20,30 or 40 miles) or area (remain in your home address county) you can exercise, within the new regs?

1.7 Are there restrictions on how far I can travel for my exercise or outdoor activity?
No. You can travel to outdoor open space irrespective of distance. You shouldn’t travel with someone from outside your household unless you can practise social distancing - for example by cycling. Leaving your home - the place you live - to stay at another home is not allowed. From Gov.UK update

We have just been given some face shields by a neighbour. They are making them for local NHS and others. These are not up to NHS quality but perfectly ok for us to use, alongside a mask of some sort. Will help greatly in the coming weeks😁 And yes, I did give a donation for them👍

I made my point clear enough on my first post on the matter M. As I said I was commenting upon what your friend said not on anything beyond that and was certainly not nitpicking.
I know what I took from my reading of yesterday's transcript. It would appear that your friend did not take the same from hearing the broadcast or reading the transcript.
Prior to Sunday the government's guidance clarification had been pretty vague in that any travel time to commence exercise should be less than the time spent exercising. Probably why I read that the new relaxation was as confirmed by Raab at around 10 am this morning for unlimited driving.
Do not blame me for making a correct interpretation of what was said and wrongly assuming that your friend had done the same

sigh...

Alan had little concern who was unable to interpret correctly but I agree that I did not realise that your friend had consulted the whole of Wiltshire constabulary. Alan was well aware of what Boris had said and of further guidance even though it does not apply to him presently in the least.

I rather wish we could have something like this at times like this to be honest. It would save any ambiguity about what is or isn’t allowed. There are just so many lacking in common sense, or wilfully choosing to misinterpret good advice that such measures would be good. I’d give them road stingers as well to stop the mindless fools who think it’s ok to ignore speed limits.
But no, we get Boris and his bunch of ditherers🤷♀️

Here's the LINK to the latest gov, advice. I heard BJ say "don't rush off to the beach or tourist hotspots" this will be the stumbling block for many and for tourist regions.
Take for instance Hampshire which has had a huge amount of Covid19 cases compared to the next door county of Dorset. I'm sorry some boundaries weren't set in the first instance whilst we see what happens.

Seriously annoyed, for all the lockdown we have complied, like most others, and not driven two miles to the local beach to walk. (OH is not able to walk there and back). Now it is about to be relaxed so much the other way so that anyone can travel as far as they want to go for a walk! Therefore almost anywhere locally for us will now be out of bounds for us as it will get very busy with little option for social distancing, and we are being told to avoid busy places. I see many beauty spots across England getting so busy that this virus will spread again very quickly. I do see that the economy needs to get going but IMO relying on people using their common sense is not always a sensible course of action. Travelling locally OK but this is too much too soon.
