You never see headlines saying "Country" folks caught driving to towns for shopping. Its always the other way round.

As far as I know you are allowed to drive into a town for food shopping. Although eyebrows might be raised if it was 200 miles away😉

Absolutely, and people who live in towns and cities are allowed to drive to the countryside for exercise. And I don’t blame them for doing so, either.

Gyms, swimming pools, golf courses etc are all closed. Many people enjoyed yoga, pilates, keep fit classes, indoor bowls, squash, football, rugby ...... all banned for now.

I live in a small, moorland edge village, and have seen many people out  and about, enjoying our lovely countryside.  Very welcome, as far as I’m concerned.

    🙂

We live in the country and need to travel to town (once a week) for food/necessities.  Other than that, we stay at home.  However, many of our near neighbours act as if nothing has changed and travel somewhere several times a day!  Most people follow the rules but some don't and those that don't live in towns AND the countryside.

Does that mean that country folk don’t drive to towns to shop.

Only for Neccessary trips. My point is we do our bit but get put in peril by these town/city people breaking the rules. Surely 10 idiots from London fit that bill. After yesterdays numbers and the news that Germany is seeing a n increase after relaxing their rules we need to be more vigilant, patient and more responsible.

Cheers TG. She made do with some ribbon she had spare so me undies are safe, for the moment.smile

She's only making 4 each for the three of us and they'll be washable. She wants to see what provisions there are out there before committing to making more.

Wherenext, I've made us 2 each, could stretch to another one each with remains of elastic stock.

Did you see milliehull post in what you doing re cleaning masks? Hold them in the steam of the kettle.

I hope the ribbon won't detract from your hairstyle 🤣

I keep wondering about making masks. However, we use cycling buffs, so I think I might just go with these at the moment with a removable, disposable liner. We have enough to wash and wear daily. Only place at moment I would use one is in shops. We aren’t venturing anywhere else, OH isn’t even going into shops.

Little Sis will raid Mums sewing box later.......elastic in various widths, colours, stretchability.

So you're basing your condemnation of town/city folk on the actions of "10 idiots from London"? frown

I consider my biggest risk to exposure to the virus is when I make my weekly shopping trip to the supermarket in Burnley.

Don’t think (hope), there’s much risk if I walk past someone on a local footpath, wherever that person may have originated from.

    🙂

Ah, good old "Toilet Duck" Trump eh. There are indeed some small things to be thankful for. Main one here is that he's over there.

If you want to see idiots go out into the country when they are doing the silage. The young lads on the powerful tractors think they are the only ones on the road. Meet them on a blind bend and it can be scary

IMHO .... Country locals in general seem to drive as though there'll be no one else around the next blind bend.

    Hi

Moving away from politics, I spoke with the site owner where our RV is in Spain this morning. Things are improving slightly in southern Murcia and people are being allowed out at certain times of the day for very short periods. Small businesses are opening back up under strict guidelines, so some positive moves. But, if things take a backwards turn a return to an even stricter lockdown than before will be made. I lived for two weeks in the first phase of their lockdown and that alone was scary but it made a mockery of what we're doing here (or not).

I was also told that it will be September at the earliest before us lot will be allowed back. Fingers crossed for that eh?foot-in-mouth

    JK

The ones on the law abiding farmers tractor trailer  won’t be, as they never work maybe because  the don’t don’t plug the electric lead in. They are to busy to be bothered with that
