Our c/van was booked for service (warranty date), earlier this month,,it is in storage with no access ,but if what is intimated that we of the vunerable groups will not be released? until much later , will the manufacturer extent the warrant beyond the add 4 months so far given?
We are not now expecting to get away this year

We were away at Hawes the week before the lockdown was announced. We arrived Sunday and most of the week the site was only about a third full and we felt reasonably safe. When we arrived back from our walk on Friday afternoon the site had filled to about 70%. We most definitely did not feel safe and left early on Saturday, despite being booked until Sunday. When we do get around to going away again, I suspect it might only be for a few days midweek, with a rapid retreat when the weekenders arrive.

As I've mentioned on another thread July was to be our first visit to a club site but I'm really not expecting it to happen....We are not in the high risk or vulnerable groups but I'd still think twice about going anywhere with large amounts of people present. I already feel "institutionalised" in terms of staying in my own personal space, so the thought of a large site with people on all sides is slightly daunting. Especially after the social distancing measures I'm already becoming very used to!

We had a week booked in London (Crystal Palace) for mid June. I know all the sites are closed until at least 30th June but had it been open before then I certainly wouldn't have gone to London.
We have two CLs booked for September in Dorset and Devon. I hope things will be getting a bit more towards being 'normal' and, as they are CLs, I will feel a little bit safer with less people. Whilst we like to stop and have a coffee or go out for a meal it isn't the be all and end all of a holiday. It is seeing different areas even if just driving around and having the occasional walk. Thankfully, neither of us really like crowded places. Solitude can be bliss.
All this supposes, of course, that the CLs are open and even still in business.

No we won't be going away, written off this year. Having, like most others, complied completely with lockdown, when it's relaxed a little I don't intend to dash out and pretend 'it's ' not still out there. If one year without a holiday gives me a few more with then it's worth it to me. We just need that vaccine.

A common concern of politicians, police and Medical/Scientific Officers across UK is how long the public will be able to cope with the lockdown. It's easy for us to say that we won't all rush out when restrictions are eased, but I'll have a small wager with anyone that when the barriers are lifted, the routes to the West Country and the Lake District will be mobbed and people will also be fighting [some literally] over car parking space at Shopping Centres as a short term fever or orgy of pent up demand [what an image that invokes ...] takes hold.
And then we'll be sensible again and hope that we haven't triggered a second wave of infection ... This is the nightmare for the politicians; they know they had no choice other than to go with the lockdown, but the consequences of the release will be generating more dread than the lockdown ever did.
Wait for the Splash photos from the Red Top newspapers and all those awful puns and references to the Dunkirk spirit. I'll have my disinfectant and vomit pail at hand.

I don’t know about you, Debs, but I’m dreading the next two bank hols which are sure to bring an influx of selfish non-compilers to the region. I sincerely hope enforcement is alive and well.

Bolero Boy, totally on the same wavelength as you l too walk 2 miles a day keeping the social distancing and so the people l meet are doing the same. Just got back from a 5 mile ride on my bike around the country lanes where we live, cycle tracks are rather busy the lanes much quieter. Also agree, would feel safer in the van, all the pitches have a good social distance between outfits, l am sure it would be quite easy to set up social distancing in the wash rooms, we would probably use our own, just the toilet for number twos. People at our age must remember we are in the twilight of our years. Being locked down is not what we really need, it would be cruel keep us in confinement if the lock down came to the end, l myself would take the chance l have already been fighting prostate cancer for the last 2 1/2 years, want to have some contact with my grandson, Daughter and son in law in case any turn for the worse and enjoy the last years of my life. Others may feel different, their circumstances may differ from mine.If the club remains shut l will cancel my membership which is due in August and look at any private sites that will stay open l am sure their will be plenty.

I had a note from my bank yesterday, they have reduced the interest rate to 0.1 percent. This morning I decide my holiday money was better invested in Premium Bonds so I transferred it all. I am not planning going anway this year so there it will stay until it is needed and who knows perhaps I might have a windfall.

Agreed! I suspect the current situation will be maintained for at least the next two reviews to cover those May BHs (and probably for some time beyond). There is already plenty of evidence of folk flouting the rules - the traffic comments on here and elsewhere are ample proof of that. The enforcement needs to be continued and maybe restrenghtened. At the same time, as I've said elsewhere, sooner or later (preferably sooner IMHO) the government need to be sharing their plans for the way forward, otherwise that flouting of the rules will, sadly become more widespread.,

I think they’re damned if they do and damned if they don’t, M, but I do sense the starting of some unrest although I’ve not witnessed it first hand.
I agree that enforcement needs strengthening but also the grey areas need clarification so everyone sings from the same song sheet. How we can hammer home the ethos of social responsibility when we seem to have so many 'me, me, me' types around is yet another issue.

I calculated my willings over the tax year just ended to be 1.35% of the amount invested. That’s tax free and pretty good in these times. 👍🏻

WizzAir has announced that it will restart flights on 1st May to destinations such as Budapest, Lisbon and Tenerife ... Social distancing in a budget airline plane? Even with middle seat empty? All that recycled cabin air? Just hope that the droplets will be Dettol [other brands are available, including DonEstos ..].

I did read that Michael O'Leary was saying that Ryanair would refuse to fly if they had to keep middle seats empty on flights. Nothing to do, presumably with the effect on his profits? Difficult to understand some folk's priorities.

I also noticed that our food shopping bill has increased over the last month. A lot of offers have been removed and prices have gone up on some items. Don’t know if it’s the suppliers or the supermarket.
Thanks to the poster for the idea of investing in Premium Bonds, I’ll move some cash over next week.

Not looking forward to that as you say, think the Lockdown will last until at least then to cover that. Have to say Devon Chief Police Officer (can't remember his name) is on the ball and installs confidence. He appears to have a very tight lockdown approach, never seen so many police cars about, and they do stop people. My daughter travelled into Woolacombe, half mile to her local shop, was stopped to check she wasn't going to the beach. She thanked the Police officer for stopping her. As I said installs confidence but we shall see.

Can’t understand why bank holidays should be any different from say, this sunny week TW. Most people are not working at the moment, why wait till it’s a bank holiday to flout the rules?

I noticed a new term being used this week in the Business Columns; 'Lived Inflation' is being used as a description of the damage to your food budget as distinct from the more traditional terms of RPI and CPI [Retail Price Index and Consumer Price Index].
Lived Inflation is on target to exceed 100% this year with weekly increases of 1.4% to 1.8% on a typical week's shopping basket [whatever that might contain in these rationed supply times!].

Just realised the upside is we are saving a good few quid by not eating out.
The downside is having to eat the OHs cooking every day.

Today's COVID 19 death figures are trickling in; but, even allowing for a 'data cleaning correction' for Wales,and without Northern Irleland's figures,the total has passed the 20,000 mark that Sir Patrick Vallance said, on 17th March, would be a good outcome.
Using Scotland's figures for Care Home and Community setting deaths [33%], that suggests that total deaths are now in excess of 27,000.
Grim figures that should give pause for thought.
