So, surprising to some on this forum there are many members who use our club sites extensively. That makes this deal good value. No point splitting hairs over a £2.50 postage charge really is there? It's still a good deal. We don't know what the future holds but the positive thinkers are snapping up these vouchers.

Wish I was on commission TW, but then I'm furloughed so can't undertake any work at all! In fact I'm bored to tears, can't even pick up twigs
. We're on the NHS volunteer list but so are many others so tasks are few
Understand the caution but they're just monetary vouchers which have no use by date and have been sold for years.

Somebody on another forum claims to have purchased £500 worth of them thus saving £100 (sorry £97.50!!!) Clever move by the Club if people are willing to set aside money and there seems to be quite a few taking them up on the offer. The advantage in cost savings far outweighs any extension of the membership period for those that can afford to buy the vouchers.

It is possible, M&S vouchers are printable. They each have a unique code which can be scanned by the till. The problem would possibly be that club sites are not set up with bar code scanners on their computers. The code is unique once scanned it cannot be used again. The M&S ones have about 25 digits. A right pain for the operator when they don't scan, as the print is of poor quality and they have to type it in. Presenting it on a phone screen gets round this however.

At least the club is offering something, why look a gift horse in the mouth, l know some wont be able to take up the offer has they will have other priorities at this time. Lets just hope we will be able to travel this year, areas will need the income when the lockdown lifts.

JVB. I was replying to DKs response about the value of the offer and the value of keeping everyone on board in uncertain times. I've just done a quick guess at the membership, divided it by 12 (monthly subscription renewals) and the corresponding monthly income for CAMC if people are encouraged to continue their subscriptions with an extension on offer.

Our membership is about to expire and wont be renewed as we don't have a van currently.
I'm not sure I'd take up the offer. If cashflow is that poor you'd be well down the list of creditors if they go out of business. Who knows whether you'll still be here to use them and when?
Also seems like a benefit to the 'wealthy well-heeled' customers they are often accused of attracting, an observation not an opinion, as you can only 'benefit' if you have surplus cash and use club sites. An extension to membership benefits all. Maybe their accounts aren't as robust as they'd like??? If this is done on top of furloughing, if the club qualifies?
For me it's academic but I will watch the developments with interest.

I take onboard what you are saying. However I expect the Club have a pretty good idea of it's members demographic and they have obviously made the decision this is a better route to go. If some members come through this and find themselves in difficulties financially Club membership won't be their priority so it there will be natural loss of members as result. It might sound a bit brutal but a three month extension won't really help people in that position although it might seem like an empathic move but it is just that. This offer does provide a pretty decent discount on site fees.
I have some site vouchers which are valid until December 2020, will the Club extend that date? I follow the news on the current situation quite closely and I am not convinced anyone in the vulnerable group will be encouraged to go away on holiday anytime soon, possibly not until next year. Having a year out of what has been a 40 year hobby means it is possible that we might not embrace it as enthusiastically as we once did so I am keeping my money in the bank!

David.I don't know about the reality of the membership demographic it could vary greatly. I am keeping my money in my bank too and I note the C&CC are extending membership "for the number of months it's campsite network remain closed."
My membership renewal comes up soon but my holiday bookings aren't in sight.
I realise the notification on this thread is about buying forward £100 vouchers so I'll leave it at that.
