Yes, I saw that,  but it is not in the original terms and conditions

I have added that it is in the FAQs

    Hi Wherenext,

I've checked with my colleagues and can confirm that no change is given from the vouchers. The vouchers are being sent out in denominations of £5, £10 and £20 as such we normally suggest that people use an amount lower than the full amount payable, so the example would be use £15 worth of vouchers and pay the £2 in cash. I hope this clears up any confusion.

Thanks for the reply Ro but it doesn't answer my query, namely did the club, when the vouchers were first put on sale, inform members under the FAQs that change would be given only to now have changed their minds and are now saying it won't be given.

I understand the concept but I was sure that the club originally advertised it as the former but didn't actually notify the members that it had been altered. It's not an issue for me but some members who were quick off the mark may be under a wrong impression of whether change is given or not.

If the club have changed their minds then let the members know by means of an announcement. Thanks.

I've just looked at the FAQs and the answers to some have certainly been changed from those originally posted when the voucher scheme first came out.

The voucher scheme , apart from the latest offer , has been in operation for quite a number of years, do you mean the original FAQs? as i have never known change to be given for the vouchers

No, it relates to the new voucher scheme, £120 for £100.

    Hi Rowena,

With vouchers being available in different denominations, can we specify at the time of purchase that we only want £5 & £10 vouchers. We use Cae Mawr site on Anglesey & even in July the one night price for 2 adults is £17. Also Lady Margarets in Chirk which we visit a lot is less than £20 for one night in winter. If we can buy the vouchers entirely in smaller amounts I will get some.

    Thank

Fatbelly, if you go to UK holidays at the top of the page and then to Special Offers you can see lots of info in FAQs. Apparently you can get £10 and £20 vouchers and there is now an additional note saying you may occasionally be able to request £5 ones. This bit is also new to this scheme and wasn't in the original information.

Unfortunately, I can’t see anywhere to add notes to the order 🙁. I guess you’d need to do it by phone.

I suppose wether it is an issue or not depends on how often you spend one night on a site. For us now it's usually 2 or 3, rarely 4. So if £17 pounds we could use a 10 and a 20 for 2 nights and 2 x 20 and a 10 for 3. Normally of course it's not an problem as the sites are above £20.☹️

Once again the club have just changed the terms and conditions.

    1. Originally from offering change if the voucher exceeded the cost of the stay to NO change will be given

    2. The demoninations were originally in £10 and £20 but they altered this to offering some ones in £5. Now they have changed it back to only £10 and £20.

    3. Originally there was no expiry date. Now it's 31/12/2021.

What a shambles. Why would you trust this club? All of the above done without any official statement, Afaik.

As I said elsewhere, it’s shameful.

To be treated so shabbily will be another nail in the club's coffin in many people's eyes.

As of today I am no longer a member of the CC ... at this rate I'll have to really think about re-joining when the sites open again. 🙄

What's the other club like? 😂

With all the mucking about the club has done, what with not closing early, no extension of membership during the virus crisis and the fiasco with the changes to the voucher scheme I wouldn't be surprised if a lot more following your example, MM. We will continue for a while at least, as we mainly use CLs, and anticipate that they will be able to operate much easier than CC sites, when  we are again allowed to roam.

The "other club" is now my preferred option for a lot of reasons...including....extending annual membership for the time sites are closed, discounts for senior citizens, more member friendly etc.I have been doubting the value of the caravan club for a few years now but as a member for over 45 years I am hoping that it will return to being a club putting its members first !unlikely I know!frown

In all honesty we're still only members for the CLs but the other club has CSs .... no idea how they compare 🤔

We've only stayed on one CS but it was the best 5 van site we've ever used.

I don’t know how many of you are considering buying site night vouchers. Just be aware that they now have an expiry date of 31 December 2021, read the q&a section on them. So just be aware if you buy to many you won’t have enough annual leave to use them.

Bit of a dirty trick changing from no expiry date to the end of 2021.

I have just sent this e-mail to the cmc

Re my order for £200 of site night vouchers. I have read the q&a again and see that the vouchers now have an expiry date of 31December 2021. When I sent In my order the q&a said that there was no expiry date. If there is an expiry date then I would like to ask for a full refund of my £200 plus the £2.50 p&p as under the consumer rights act I have been mis sold this product.

We've stayed on a few but have not been overly impressed. I find the site descriptions in their Big Site Book (Site Directory) much harder to interpret with poorer direction to the CSs. Maybe we've just made poor choices. We found their club sites fine though, but as we were not using them enough times in a year we're no longer members.

Some of their club sites are below par in my opinion while others are first class. Their restricted stays, booking system and deposits are a PIA but they’ve never been underhanded in any dealings I’ve had with them.

Regarding vouchers.. there was outrage when Brittany Ferries offered vouchers for cancelled ferries - even though they offered 20% extra for new bookings. People didn't want vouchers - they wanted to keep their cash.

Then the Club offered vouchers for cancelled campsites and people  rushed to buy them -because they offered 20% extra for new bookings. People didn't want to keep their cash - they wanted vouchers.

If you intend to use the vouchers 20% is  good deal, no savings account will give you that. And at the end of the day you are only saving

I was fully intending to buy, probably £600 worth. However, for me the selling point was no expiry date. I have no intention of parting with my cash for something that is not currently open  and no idea if I will be able to use them in the stated term. In my opinion if they want money up front they have shot themselves in the foot. I get 2 years on my Tesco vouchers. The CC are offering at most 18 months, potentially much less.
