Dont know the ins and outs myself. But I thought their protection was goods/services??

Another item for academic interest 😀.

This site sure learns you much as well as entertaining ourselves on these different days!

Maybe their accounts aren't as robust as they'd like???

This has crossed my mind as well but it is not the reason I won't be buying. I cannot see us getting out this year at the moment and next year I have to pass a medical to renew my licence . It should not be in doubt but it is yet another unknown.  I have never been a fan of vouchers anyway, they always seem to restrict ones freedom to go as you please.

I would sooner gamble on premium bonds!

Seems like an eggcellent idea, but if the club is being beaten by the economic situation , then we may have to eggercise caution & eggsempt ourselves from the offer!!😂

You should stop cracking Yolks about this. Shell out (some of your nest eggs and help the club with its cashflow problem).

I don't know where this figure of £12.50 comes from JVB, can you explain this to me, thanks. smile

edit I think you'll also find that you're getting an extra £20 (£17.50 for the first £100) towards site fees, not 20% off every site booking.

We are members , at the moment, of both Clubs, but have our caravan insurance with CAMC, which requires membership.  Membership expires in May, insurance in July.  CCC are as said above, extending membership for the additional months sites are closed, and we last renewed in January.

We are using very few CAMC sites now, but do use CLs, so one possibility is that we may not renew in May, depending of course on the situation then.   We would then move  our insurance at renewal either to the CCC or another provider.

Should we be allowed to take holidays again before October, we would check out sites and decide whether it would be worthwhile rejoining then, so we will also be keeping our money in the bank meantime.

We will rejoin eventually, to use CLs, and it is all a bit of a hassle, so no firm decision has been made as yet.

JVB, I'd be sorry if anyone thought they were getting a 20% reduction on future bookings when in reality if they  spend £100 they will be getting an extra £17.50 towards a future booking.

The voucher wont  be that good value when site fees increase and you are forced to use club sites

Surely it's still money off the full price, which ever way you look at it. Plus I suspect that the CAMC won't be the only ones increasing there prices.

Interesting you should say that as I had an email from South Lytchett Manor Caravan and Camping Park  saying they would not be increasing prices in 2021! Whether prices go up I suspect will very much depend on how long it takes to get of of the current problem.

Guys, can you advise please. What value does each voucher come in? I ask because sometimes we stay at a site for one night. So if the voucher is say £20 but site fees for one night is £17 do we get change back or do we loose the £3. I intend to buy some of these vouchers but don't want to make a mistake if you don't get change back.

The T&Cs say the vouchers will be issued in £10 and £20 denominations and no change will be given. I’ve heard of several people getting their total spend entirely in £20 vouchers.

Thanks TW, that does change things.

On a separate note, I posted a few weeks ago that we could be in financial trouble due to the impact of the virus on my employment. I pleased to say that things have greatly improved at work and we are now back on a more stable financial footing. Thanks to all who posted their support and fingers crossed for anyone who are currently furloughed.

Glad to hear it FB. 👍🏻

The voucher offer is open until the end of June so I’m going to bide my time before I decide. There is a financial risk so, if I buy, it will be with a credit card for added protection.

So if the voucher is say £20 but site fees for one night is £17...

One night at a club site for £17?  "You cannot be serious, man."

I need to get to an Optician as soon as I reasonably can because I could have sworn that when the vouchers were first touted I read the info about Change as it could be given and again I was sure that this question had popped up on another thread but the revised Search engine doesn't help me.

I'll have to accept that it was wishful thinking.

If you use Club Sites a lot, and especially the expensive ones, it will save a bit of money. But to be honest, £20 isn’t much over half a night on most Club Sites. Some will think it a good offer, others won’t bother.

I don’t think it was you, WN. I’ve seen a similar discussion on another forum where it was stated that the T&Cs had been altered from change could be given to no change given. Sneaky, eh?

I could only have read it on this forum TW. Come to think of it wasn't yourself who answered a post from Nellie about the vouchers stating that you could get them in £10 and £20 denominations and then followed it up with a comment about change or somebody followed your post and mentioned change. Can you remember what the thread was?

I don’t doubt you saw it here, WN, but my seeing it on another forum confirms you were correct in what you saw.

I do remember telling someone the value of the vouchers but not the bit about change and, sorry, I don't remember where. I would have assumed it was this thread. Seems not.🤷🏻‍♂️

Actually the thread I was referring to a couple of posts up was the ongoing Membership Fee one where Nellie queried the denominations etc. but no mention was made about change.

Maybe you could report my first post about the poor eyesight etc. to see if the club will respond as to whether they changed their minds about change. Cheers. Be nice to be proved wrong I guess.

WN, I've reported your post as requested. I remember reading in the original notification that change would be given if the value of the voucher used was greater than the per night price.

Edit you beat me to it TW, but a second reporting wouldn't do any harm. Be interesting if H O come back with a response.

If you click on Rowena's link, and read the terms and conditions there, I see no mention of change not being given.

You have to read all the FAQs to find it.

But if you go to the shop to buy them, the terms and conditions there do say it.
