Coronavirus: Stay or go

There must have been some tracking of early cases done, on Lanzarote we were told the 2 cases that started it there were from Madrid a husband and wife which had recently arrived on the island.
We know that many fled Madrid and spread it all over Spain, same as we know that happened in Italy, folk fleeing Milan and the rest of the Lombardy region to homes and extended family living in other parts of Italy.
It is not to hard to believe that the same is happening in France where folk fled from Paris.
Looking at the number of cases in London isn't it about time it was locked down or are we just giving them time to flee to other parts of the UK. Oops one already has.

Just a thought re the tone of some of the posts on the Forum. I'm guessing, in the absence of any data, that the average age of most Members on here is closer to the retired 'At Risk' grouping than it is to those tearaway teenagers who regard themselves as invincible .
If my assumption is right, and the UK Government's forecast of the eventual death toll is anywhere near accurate, it can only be a matter of time before a Member's OH has to start a post with 'I am sorry to inform everyone that my soulmate X passed away today ...'
I would hate to have to reflect that the deceased was the same person I had poured scorn on in our last exchange of views.

It seems Tesco's are prioritising delivery slots giving them to those that are paying for "delivery plans" You cannot currently sign up for a plan either. Even regualr store customers are not being able to get slots. A poor show in my view.

new cases already reported in Hong Kong and mainland China the only country thus far that appears to be ahead of the game is South Korea and they were in relentless pursuit of those who showed symtoms to track down all they had been in contact with and to do mass testing.

Personally I hope tests will increase to see who has had it and who hasn't yet (the last group being the vulnerable group of whatever age or health
so do i but Italy has been forced into its own euthanasia policy "if you are old and become infected and are dying "sorry we cannot save you " not enough ventilators to go round.

"Excuse me BB but you are just getting into harrumphing mode!"
not exactly sure what you mean by this...a first on the forum?...but, coming from you, im sure its complimentary...
"Nobody mentioned names, just a town, a number and normal place of residence."
i was just showing how ridiculous it is to suppose ANYONE has ANY personal information about any group in this sad situation.
the point remains, how could anyone know that everyone of an infected group came from the same place and all had 'holiday homes'?...hence my referral to 'all those in Somerset'....its just not possible to make these sort of statements without personal knowledge.
ive had my stroll, ill go and Harrumph somewhere else

why would staff want a home delivery unless they are isolating, if you are still at work you can shop as normal, again another ill founded rumour!!!
I know ASDA are allowing staff time to shop before the stores open or at the end of a shift if you work nights but like the NHS and other emergency services these people are vital to keep the country going at this time as they are risking their lives daily so you can eat and drink so even if they were given priority they are no different to NHS et al and deserve a little perk.

afraid not, was offered to me for my aged Mother in Law.
you might well work in Tesco's and do your big shop in Tesco's but not have transport to get it home , so use online shopping instead and i think it perfectly right that this should be a perk of the job for staff

Hi
Yes we're isolating. It's not our personal choice but I respect the wishes of my employer

Isn’t the Bill to enforce travel restrictions in the process of becoming legislation? 🤔

Any luck with food deliveries Peedee? I got through to Milk and More (we use them for milk deliveries but they do food etc) I thought great, proceeded to check in and got thrown out due to a password problem. Decided to change password but their reset system conked out!

I don't think I'll be trawling through this, there is a travel section on the proposed coronavirus health protection regulations 2020 legislation.gov.uk. The main thing we're all taking on board is stay at home, shop near home, exercise near home etc. essential journeys only.
