I am also totally amazed to read in the local newspaper, this morning, that Humberside Police are having a problem dealing with pubs that are refusing to close. What hope do we have with idiots like this around?

It was supposedly cafes in Skegness

I see the language is getting stronger on these posts . Perhaps I was just a bit ahead of the game I still say anyone still vanning is an IDIOT, IRRESPONSIBLE and deserves all the abuse they get from the locals. It may get even more draconian in the next few weeks and serve them right. Still some of the diehards on here are splitting hairs as to what the Governrnent  directives are. SIMPLES TRAVEL ONLY AND GO OUT WHEN ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL. As for the club, the directors are totally out of order by not closing sites. and they should also reap the consequences.

No it wasn't - or I wasn't referring to that.  I was talking about pubs in Hull.  Plus, Skegness is in Lincolnshire Police's area, not Humberside.

Ah but I was referring to Skegness to show that it was not isolated R&R and merely giving another instance. I see that PD has linked a newspaper report from a local

One wonders how these persistent tourers will feel if local communities decide to only serve their local communities. Want groceries - go home. Want medical help - go to your local hospital/doctor. Obstinacy will only precipitate more draconian measures.

I agree with Dr Clark, it is appaulling that this is being treated as a holiday. Sites should close and close right now.

It will be interesting to see what the Club do with the site in Clumber Park. Although it is accessed off Lime Tree Avenue, which is a public right of way, it is located in the park and I think leased from the NT.

Just to let those contemplating going away.We are now putting in place a system that will preclude anyone not local to have access to services, shopping etc so that we reserve the limited resources to ourselves. This will be extended countrywide as soon as we can.

I think a lot of the clubs sites are leased I wonder what if any views the owners have on this matter? will they put pressure on the club to close ?

It seems the Caravan Club Ltd is having as much trouble closing it's sites as the police, in closing pubs in certain areas. In order to stop the spread of this virus the government have advised everyone to stay at home!  Some police forces also want caravan sites closed.

Is this too difficult for some to comprehend?. For those of you who dont know what comprehend means - hitch up and off you go!

Makes you wonder will we ever be welcomed again in our favourite places when this is all over?

    Stay at home folks.

Good post Rufs, you are not a self appointed vigilante you are the intelligent voice of reason, the conscience that others lack. Some are willing to act as they did in the Middle Ages with the great plague, head in sand & full denial until it was too late. The difference is 700 years, yet here we are with the same deniers, very sad☹️

The emergency services would deal with a bicycle accident in the best way they possibly could, as they always do.
It is not the issue here and your comment is pointless in context

Hubby sent me something from Facebook  (I'm not on it so haven't been able to verify it) stating something about a feature on the news saying all touring caravans and motorhomes were been stopped from touring. Can anyone expand on this?

It was from someone called Ann Booker of Happy Touring Caravanners UK.

I have decided to cancel our 2 trips to the Cheviots, as even though we'd have less interaction with others whilst there it still goes against the advice to stay at home.

Whilst I agree with the stay at home and associated thinking in these threads. Your vitriotic posts are way out of order, are you thinking of mini border checks, farmers with shotguns, verbal followed by physical assault to anyone that is not resident.

Wow, reminds me of the mass trespass and the gamekeepers, anarchy in the making. Serbia and Bosnia turned neighbour upon neighbour also.

Well done Ruffs,  If more people put their heads above the parapet ,instead of just wringing their hands  ,then it might just start to sink in,  , it is not being a "vigilanti" it is what is severely lacking these days   ,a sense of responsibilty to others

I have just read that the Club have decided to close all sites....   Anyone in transit today will be allowed to stay one night and then asked to return home...

    Stay safe everyone.

Fully expect London to be in lock down, possibly from tomorrow. London has the highest death toll and number of cases, followed by Birmingham and the West Midlands.

until London is locked down to set a precedent, people will continue to not take it seriously.

Train services are cut to a Sunday service from tomorrow to reflect reduction in passengers.

Find it strange that Sainsbury's is opening the first hour of trading each day to the elderly, where they get up unnecessarily early, go out from a warm home into the cold to stand in a line in the cold. As are other supermarkets.

Went for the weekly shop with my octogenarian mother on Friday mid afternoon to Lidl. Plenty of stock available with limits of 2 on some items. Very few people and all keeping a distance. Only product not available was butter. So popped into Sainsbury's in town, leaving mum in the car. Again few people, lots of stock. Talking to the cashier first thing in the morning it was carnage with people queued outside hours before opening, running and pushing each other to get goods. Madness.

Cycled to the big Sainsbury's yesterday for a cauliflower and newspaper for mum, no wine, spirits and only a few boxes of bottled beer, the night after Boris closed the pubs.

First day of schools closed tomorrow. Daughter has work set whilst not attending school. I'm working from home and have a check in conference call first thing. At work our team has had 2 confirmed COVID-19 cases. Self isolation went from 21 to 256 in three days, to give context, our team headcount is 1800.

I understand that at this stage, the intention is that CAMC sites will remain closed until end of June.

It’s about time DSB. I do find some of the decision making woefully baffling at this serious time. Not sure who’s been interpreting it and driving it, but I hope that be they either Committee or Staff, some serious questions are raised once this crisis ends.

Not as far as I know  as yet.  I think anyone who is booked are being advised by phone..  No doubt the official statement will come when those directly concerned/ travelling have been informed.  I guess this is the priority.
