Pleas on BBC Scotland website from the Scottish Highlands and Western Isles......at this time, sadly please stay away, our medical resources are limited.
I’ve also read certain areas in Wales feel the same.
I would love to be packing our Motorhome to go away but surely all of us can understand the reasons behind this heartfelt request. The Club should take a lead and close campsites in these terrible times.

Yes, RC, it’s Wales and Cornwall urging people to stay away as well.
I imagine, in particular, the inhabitants of the Western Isles and the Northern Isles won’t be welcoming visitors.

Lincolnshire's police and crime commissioner called for caravan sites and arcades to shut. Police in Cumbria had earlier warned tourists not to travel to the Lake District and urged them to follow the government's advice on social distancing, which is intended to slow the spread of coronavirus.
Just heard also that the N/T are going to close all it's parks, after the latest Government guidelines.

Well, well, well. I ventured to our local supermarket this teatime, haven’t been anywhere near one since we got home last Saturday. Virtually empty, but deep joy, full of food. No loo rolls, but plenty of alternatives. Short of some tinned items, but freezers and dried goods, fruit and veg all there. So I had a really good shop, peaceful as well. Filled up with diesel, £1.15 per litre, so a good price there!
Two more Coronavirus cases in our area now. Sheffield has quite a few, but I think it has one of the main treatment hospitals, somthey might have come from elsewhere.
Sobering interview with Head of an Italian Health Service on Channel 4 news this evening. Her main advice was to stop the movement of people as soon as possible. Italy didn’t do it quick enough, and they are paying for it now. Also, they didn’t test health workers and care staff until too late. ☹️

The £1 billion figure was provided by the Head of the British Retail Consortium, so it ought to be within an acceptable range of accuracy, especially since she followed up with pithy advice to [sic] 'eat it, don't hoard it'.

The BBC article you're quoting from dives all over the place and is more than a little sketchy on detail. The Police & Crime Commissioner was commenting on the 'hundreds of thousands of visitors' and called for the closure of caravan sites and arcades [social distancing breaches]. There was no further reference to caravan sites and no mention of B&B or Hotel occupancy rates and their contribution to the overcrowding and infection risk of close contact. The Dentist who closed his business also called for caravan sites to close, but again, ignored other types of guest accommodation. If there were indeed 'hundreds of thousands' of extra visitors that made social distancing impossible, Skeggy must have nothing but caravan sites because a 300 caravan site with 4 guests per van gives 1,200 extra visitors, so if it was *only* 100,000 extra visitors, that's almost 90 caravan sites worth in the town. Or there were a lot of people from B&Bs and hotels and they would never dream of encroaching on the social distancing guidelines, unlike those common oiks who inhabit caravans [irony!].
Poor journalism, cobbled together in a rush, and the article provides little by way of quality information, also referring to the thousands of visitors to West Wittering in Sussex who were channeled onto the beach and who also ignored the social distancing guidance. Caravan and camping sites were not mentioned for the West Sussex problem, but East Sussex gained a mention because a pub had reopened as a Farm Shop [with table spaces ...] with an appeal to 'support our community'.
The NT garden closure was in a different article, possibly the Guardian Live Blog. The NT Chief Executive was quoted as saying that the number of visitors had exceeded their expectations and it was proving difficult/impossible to maintain the social distancing guidelines for visitors. Because the Mother's Day visitors were expected in greater numbers, the NT had decided to close the Gardens, Parks etc.

I had to collect my van from service today (I really didnt want to).
A person collecting parts from the dealer announced they were travelling to site for the weekend, their justification, the club had said it was OK.
I ask the Club representatives to make a clear statement on why they have chosen to facilitate a policy that will accelerate the spread of the virus or take decisive action now and close the sites.
Or resign.

Indeed. I see in the last few minutes that posts now days out of date where people said they were going away anyway are being 'liked'. Most of those posters have now changed their minds in view of more recent events but the 'liking' suggests that someone still sees no issue with touring.

On one of the FB groups I'm on someone was complaining that when then pulled in at Glencoe today in their MH they met with a lot of hostility from the locals, they eventually got the message and left.
Boy did they get some flack on the comments. What part of none essential travel do they think driving around in a MH is ok to do.

I consider it irresponsible and arrogant of the C&MC to keep the sites open.

Perhaps the M/H travellers LIVE in their Van, many do, they dont have a permanent site OR a house to stay in. If they are, perhaps they should have a sign telling folk just that......THIS is my Home I am self isolating in it....please keep away !

Having already cancelled trips to Northumberland and Wales, planned for May and June, I did have it in mind to continue with the booking for a CS about an hour from home, for Easter, where we would be one of up to 5 vans in 2 acres - so plenty of room. It's also within the same hospital catchment area as home - so no extra burden on the NHS if it came to the worst.
However, I do now think that 'stay at home' means just that, however you might justify travelling, in your own mind. I am sure we would have been completely safe on the CS, with virtually no risk to others, but I am concerned about the messages such travel would be giving out.
I am also totally amazed to read in the local newspaper, this morning, that Humberside Police are having a problem dealing with pubs that are refusing to close. What hope do we have with idiots like this around?
