Any advice from Club on Coronavirus?

The advice for over 70s to self isolate is very unlikely to be enshrined in law. The latest news stated: 'The self-isolation measure would mean people being asked to remain at home without visitors and with vital supplies dropped off for them on their doorsteps.'

Hi, if the shower blocks are closed then I assume it would be pertinent to also close/prevent the use of the wash-up sinks/veg prep & the laundry facilities too as the scientific evidence is showing that Covid-19 can easily be, (inadvertently spread) by many contaminated means.
The children’s play area is also a consideration.
Gov.uk has lots of documents regarding various situations....this one for example covers Assisted Living/Care Homes & how to deal with dirty laundry & soiled incontinence pads in known Covid-19 cases.
My point is that there may well be Members staying on a Club Site who are unaware they’re infected or who may feel ill & choose to carry on as normal whilst ignoring advice to self-isolate (their choice, of course). This in turn could (potentially) spread the virus further & affect not just the elderly & vulnerable but each & every one of us.

In the case of on-site and whether to close facilities, the answer is already here.
Don't go, why put yourself and others at risk by still touring and increasing that risk. I would hope that an announcement be made very soon that the club will close its sites, either voluntarily or be told to do so.

not sure how this is going to work, have now started washing my hands when coming in from shopping e.g. this morning picked up newspaper and milk, got indoors washed my hands then looked at the large bottle of milk in a plastic container and thought, if i pick that up i could contaminate myself, would only need for shelf stacker to be a carrier ? so this invisible person that is going to drop supplies off at your door could be infected and infect your shopping ?, and also i consider myself to be as fit if not fitter than many 50/60 year olds that i know, but agree club should shut up shop now things are going to get a whole lot worse before they get better

The request for over 70s will be to reduce contacts as best they can, I think the request will be for a 75% reduction. This will hopefully reduce some of the pressure on hospital beds and give people a fighting chance if they are seriously I'll.

The most "vunerable" are in the older age bracket, and as at out of school holiday periods , it is that age group (us)who frequent sites , so if the next stage is for (us) to self isolate for four months? Is it worth any sites opening, at other than weekends, then the facilities can be "deep cleaned" by site staff in bio suits ready for the next weekend,

Coronavirus information for all of us

Our suggestion for sites to carry on would be.
1. Facility sites to close toilet blocks and reduce fees by 25%.
2. On arrival, show membership card at window, then ring the warden on mobile and pay over the phone. (A customer not present transaction).
3. Warden chucks you a box of disposable gloves to use at the water and Chem points. This disease is a respiratory disease, not like Norovirus, so Not an expert, but would have thought not too much risk using chemical points as long as nobody near you.
4. Keep distance from other members.
Club keeps some income and we can still holiday!
only risk is becoming ill of course, but if sites aren’t full we can stay until we feel better (or die).......0 -

The risk at such points is that others have handled hoses, taps etc. - same as at the bins. But airborne infection in the open is unlikely

I find that when I use the toilet block, most people give me at least 1 metre space. I put it down to the amount of fruit and veg in my diet ...
I disagree about closing site toilets. These can be cleaned with much stronger chemicals than onboard facilities can, and handwashing at both the washbasins and on returning to the caravan or MH will cleanse sufficiently.

I think the point is that closing facility blocks will stop us mingling with other people as much as to prevent us contracting the bug by using the loos.
Along with Dave, I support staying at home and closing the entire site network. It's the responsible way.

Hi, as a former Paramedic with knowledge of caring for patients, “vulnerable” covers anyone of any age, (babies, children & any adult) who suffers with an illness or disability - eg, Cancer, dialysis, Stoma, RA, MS, COPD, AIDS, Hepatitis B, MND & MRSA patients - the list goes on; also Insulin Dependant Diabetics as well as those with cardiac/coronary problems & anyone of any age with an Autoimmune disease, (of which there are many).
Prior to being a Paramedic, I was a qualified Dental Nurse & I have also worked in hospitals & on wards, so I do have a lot of experience having to work on a daily basis using strict aseptic techniques to help to reduce the risk of spreading any infection & to prevent cross contamination between patients, staff, visitors & everyone of any age.
Good health at any age is a priceless, precious & invaluable blessing.

If I was a Warden, I don’t think I would want to put myself at risk of the doings of others who don’t adequately clean themselves, not on a near minimum wage anyway. Anyone incapable of not using their onboard facilities and being sufficiently prepared to follow a strict hygiene regime at the taps and chemical disposal points (supply own gloves, wipes, soap etc.....) has no business being out on the road. Time to either take personal responsibility for one’s own health and that of others, or stay at home as far as I am concerned. Same at home as well.

Of course there are many that love to have a go at caravanners/motorhomers on the roads, just by being there and 'holding up the traffic'.
If you now deem your outings as 'normal', it would probably be looked upon as another example of spreading this virus with a couldn't care less attitude. No matter how responsible one is in personal hygiene.

Matt Hancock has just said that police will have the power to arrest people with coronavirus who are not self-isolating. No mention of how the Police will know; all OAPs who look to be over 70?; anyone with a cough [Ramipril prescription users?]; will the arrestee be taken to a single cell or a shared facility?; what happens if the person arrested is aged, say, 65 and has a cough because of Ramipril and then contracts coronavirus in the police cell? Will paramedics be deployed to accompany police patrols? Or will retired GPs be used [provided they are under 70 ...]?
Mr Hancock does not appear to be providing any detail, more aimed at headline grabbing/public reassurance?

Just seen a photo on Facebook of our favourite site Bunree after the winter storms, looks 'ravaged'
and makes me very sad, Hopefully the Warden will get some help and get everything in order ready for opening....Virus allowing of course.
sorry not IT savvy enough to post it here.9

Matt Hancock has just said that police will have the power to arrest people with coronavirus who are not self-isolating.
As far as I am aware that power already exists however how many are confirmed cases other than those hospitalised or back from cruises etc and shecked?? SO as far as I can see there would be few about on the street that are confirmed cases whether they have the disease or not

agreed, and why should we put wardens at risk, which we undoubtedly will do, just so that we can have some leisure time away, crazy, and i can see people scrambling to leave a site the moment somebody looks to be suffering, probably already infected and now moving the infection to another location, LV's could become travelling virus carriers.

I don't think wild speculation like this is helping anyone, Steve.

Whilst I agree with the sentiments of your post the worrying phrase is "modicum of common sense" When you see Vox Pop interviews on the news it becomes obvious that some people, hopefully in the minority, have not acquainted themselves with the facts and unless if impacts on them directly sort of ignore the issue! We decided last week we would cut back on going out but we still find ourselves in the position that next week for example I have to collect the motorhome from the dealers, Margaret has a diabetic appointment at the surgery and we have a man coming tomorrow to add some fittings to the conservatory so initially complete isolation is not quite possible. We did do our first online grocery order yesterday but the number of available slots is extending and, of course, we have no idea how much of the order we will get!

We haven't been asked to reduce our contacts yet but if anyone is in the groups that will need to do this there is time to adjust and plan. I think most people are good at adjusting when they know it is important to do so and there is a bit of time left to understand the reasoning behind the advice. I wish everyone all the best and it's been good to have the forum to discuss things in advance.

My two penny worth: as soon as China closed Wuhan down, We should have been stopping and testing everyone EVERYONE arriving in the UK.
The 'super spreader' who went from Singapore to Austria to the UK spreading virus as he went. Would have been picked up as he re- entered the UK.
Yes, draconian, as they all would have to held somewhere until the results were received. But it would have helped buy us time.
This is the example of Globalisation working against us.

too late in my newspaper today there is a map of the world showing the various countries that have coronavirus, i note a very large country on the continent of asia have none, my theory is that this country has a vacine for this virus, vaccinated their population and then dropped this little beauty on the rest of the world
off down the pub hoping for a lock in
