It's the soap structure that breaks down the adhesive properties in the virus, both the 2 or 3 blocks that comprise it, and the adhesive that makes the virus stick to skin. The singing is supposed to take the advised 20 seconds ...

Does anyone know the definition of 'continuous cough' as stated in the NHS online questions? Is it one cough per hour per half hour?, every few hours? I've tried finding one but failed.

Interesting. I can find definitions of persistent cough, chronic cough, dry cough but not continuous cough. Methinks it’s a new invention.

What does a continuous cough mean?
A chronic cough is when a cough lasts longer than 8 weeks in adults or 4 weeks in children. Common causes include asthma, allergies, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), or bronchitis. Less commonly, it can be a sign of a more severe condition, such as a heart cough or lung disease.23 Jan 2020

Mmmm but when it develops how is one to know that it will last longer than 8 weeks and thus be classed as chronic?
I don’t believe continuous and chronic mean the same thing. The former relates to whether it proceeds without interruption and the latter to overall duration.
It's something else we can be confused about.

I tend to agree, if they do mean the same it would say chronic in the question not continuous.
Is it meant to be confusing? therefore anyone with a new cough will self isolate?
I see a number of scientists have written in saying current measures not enough. They do seem vastly different to what is happening in Europe.

Tbh, advice seems to differ hour to hour and the slant is different depending which TV channel you watch.
It's becoming easier and easier to fall into the trap of being panicked because we're getting information overload which is often confusing and unclear.
Maybe the ostriches have it right!

The true definition could be very important to those who have coughs so it's far from nitpicking to them!

So explain to Corners what constitutes a 'continuous' cough.

It would appear that the Club is dragging its heels as far as any advice goes. Announcements about what action is being taken should be on the websites homepage so it can't be missed.
I would have thought that because a lot of sites are re-opening after the winter closure that advice would be to hand. It would appear to me that payment in advance to minimise contact with site staff and closure of all washroom facilities would be a good starting point.

If the government close down bars and restaurants, museums and galleries, theatres sports events etc that will of itself reduce travel. It would be painful for business but that will be the case soon anyway. Such actions would instill a sense of urgency to the public.

As with the ccc, both do not want to guesstimate, the governments response ,I understand the sites have been advised ,as far as is possible as posted earlier in this thread , but until, as with other countries ,the governments decide the next steps what can be advised, apart from short notice closing of sites, (which could happen) there is just the inconvenience to members, but little or no financial loss, for those on staycations with the club ,as there could be with other organisations ,

And perhaps rightly so.
At the moment for those that will get paid in full for time off (like teachers - sorry all I know about) there will be no problem financially in following the advice to self isolate for seven days straight away at the first sign.
But we had a number of workmen in last week and all self employed all with young families and mortgages. They said that if they did that there are real worries about their fiances, yes they will get whatever they are entitled to but it could be far less than they presently earn, they didn't mention it but one can perhaps (wrongly) infer that they won't be so keen to self isolate at the very first sign?
So a 'national' lock down like in Europe might be a better idea?

Seems it is on its way for us 70 year olds , 4 months being speculated at home.
just bought a new caravan waiting delivery in next 4 weeks, assuming the self isolation become law we will not only be able to use the new van but we will not be able to collect it.
