No such worries at all, Sanchas !!

If we start worrying about what will be happening over there in a few weeks / months  time then we'll never stir from our own sitting room would we Just keep a weather eye out for publicity & official advice and go ahead & book those tickets

please dont take offence ABM just wanted to use your post from 1st Feb as an illustration of just how far we have come to day, i was of the same opinion as you and now caravan stood outside bungalow gleaming and is going no where frown

Yes, in those few weeks it has gone from us still going to delaying travel bookings, then not going but tour the UK instead, and now even that will look to be impossible. Caravan will be in storage for a while yet.

Agree on that, was hoping we could get away 'overthere' in September instead of end of April, but that may prove to be impossible also (if we survive) surprised

Being in the fortunate position to be able to go at very short notice (last year we left for Spain only two days after we decided to go there) we'll just get everything ready so that we can move off in the that direction again within a day, just as soon as we are confident that we won't run into problems.

Are people being allowed to travel around Germany easily Lutz?

We  don't hear much about the situation in Germany or the Netherlands.

That stretch of water between us and mainland Europe has proved to be a Godsend past and present, but for travel it is a PITA.

we normally only go in April for 3 months to get some early summer sun so depending on how good or not the Uk summer turns out to be, will probably give over there a miss this year, but like Lutz we could do a wagons roll tomorrow if it were possible.

Off to a CL for a week in half an hour. Plenty of walking but no pub lunches I fear. Not sure about the club site for the week after.

We are in unchartered waters, and it’s still very surreal, Mother Nature having one heck of a bite back at humanity.

We are going to put together a list of things to do (not a bucket list😱) and keep ourselves physically and mentally busy. Got to try and include Mum as well. Dogs Trust is coming up with some good ideas to keep pooches busy. We hope to try and support some small businesses by buying some online stuff, they are just so vulnerable.

Time to share..........recipes, gardening tips, hobby ideas, photos, fitness ideas, just a hello really. 😁

    Morning

So it's now like a scene from a futuristic movie, armed police blocking roads everywhere, people being forcibly moved on. If you're resident you are allowed to food shop as the only shops that are allowed to open are supermarkets but, they are empty of essential foods!. With a fifteen day lockdown from tomorrow (Monday) if there's no supplies delivered we will be rationing. That's new in my lifetime. Everyone has been told to stay indoors, the police patrol the empty streets looking for the slightest movement, but luckily we are in the mountains away from main roads and have some brilliant walking out in fresh air with no one to get close to.

I doubt very much that the UK will go into a lockdown (yet). With a diminished armed forces and even more diminished police force how would it be enforced. Can't see all those speed cameras being much help!!!wink

    Stay safe folks

    JK

Some countries I think will cope better than others JK. It’s a mindset, some are used to seeing tough police presence. The UK isn’t, and is full of those who put their personal requirements above others, even if it is just buying toilet rolls. I think it’s going to be very interesting to see just how community spirited and “all in it together” it will be over here. If it isn’t, then it could get nasty for some.

On a number of occasions in the past I've bought ferry tickets upon arrival at the port so even that wouldn't be an insurmountable hurdle.

Hi JK, we are in Lanzarote just now due to fly home on Thursday all being good.

On the island we were in lock down as of midnight last night (saturday) we have been told we are only allowed off resort to go to the food shops or pharmacy, if in a car only 1 person allowed. Locals are working but all restaurants are closed, shops not essential have to close.

Flights came in late yesterday to collect those who were due to go home, we are guessing that will continue.

Are folk being allowed to leave the campsites to travel home?

Sunday papers talking of Police & Military protecting { !! } supermarkets and pharmacies - but if they have no stocks why bother yell

Keep safe JK, Won't be seeing you at Trevithick Day I reckon .

We are on a club winter rally at Almayate near Malaga, the site is now closed to new arrivals, the restaurant and bar are closed but takeaway food available from 1pm to 4pm, supermarket still open but reduced hours. We can go out to the supermarket, pharmacy or filling station but everything else is closed. Our beach is still open. If you take your van out you will not be allowed back in. We are due to leave here on the 4th April but travelling up to the tunnel as no dog friendly cabins available. Some of our on route sites are closed to new arrivals, aires are closed to new arrivals and enforced by the police. No advice from the club even though the closed sites are booked through them.

    just a quick update...

left Bonterra Park this morning, now in St Jean de Luz and we wont be subject to Spain's lockdown rules....many left this morning to 'make it' to France, by whichever route...

Kontikiboy travelled in convoy with us and should be esconced on the Larouletta site in Urrugne...

no (serious) police presence at all on our route, no moving of folk on, just a cheery wave as we went past Villareal...however, tomorrow from 8:00 might be a different story....

we would have been happy to sit it out, but we have to be home soon and, despite the wonderful weather, the bars are closed and the atmosphere has changed....Saturday lunch for the locals was non existent.

we have a ferry booking for tuesday from Cherbourg (if its not cancelled) and have two easy days to get there, provided no further escalation in France.

many pals are staying put, despite the average age group no one seems unduly worried....

    JK

The things some people  will do so they don't have to work.

Just finished winter at ABW and drove 600 miles and for ten hours non stop yesterday to get home here to be visited by local police to tell me i can't leave my house  for 15 days and might be fined if no good reason to do so, also only one of us can go shopping with a fine of 400 euros if both go.

Dont know where you are at moment but stopped off in the mountains  above Alicante at Elda and they had plenty of provisions at Carrefour there with no shortages.

Don't rush back because i think the club will have to go the same way as the Spanish sites and will close in the next couple of weeks, we had one day at ABW in February where we had no arrivals which i have never known before. Self isolation is happening.

    Phil

    Evening

We are now in southern Murcia. On lockdown since yesterday, the guardia out in force! The good lady will try for some supplies tomorrow but stores have been empty since mid week. We are due to start back on site beginning of May but I think things will be very different by then.

Quite happy being isolated here really, better in the sun eh?

    Was ABW alright?

Brother had to cancel a trip to Madeira today as anyone arriving will have to be in quarantine for 14 days. Not much fun if you only have a fortnight's holiday booked.

OH's sister and husband have an apartment in Spain, in Mijas Costa, between Malaga and Marbella.  They went there 3 weeks ago today and are due back 2 weeks today, on the 30th of March with Jet2.

They're having to stay in the apartment of course, many police about, beaches closed.  As for flying back on the 30th?  No idea what'll happen there.
