The same thing happen to Low Hedgeley a couple of years ago ( talking to the owner this evening), so he applied for planning permission for a 10 pitch commercial site and got it.

Stayed at Severn Gorge Campsite last month.  Small touring area on a static site, 5 mins from centre of Telford, or Blists Hill Museum, and only a short drive to Ironbridge.

Lovely roomy shower areas, laundry etc.  No dog walk but the entrance lane leads to woodland.  Hard standings, water tap and drain at each pitch and all for £20 per night.

    Thanks SteveL

I've seen the images from the website there are a couple of years old there are 16 new pitches added. I wanted to see if anybody had been there this year with current pictures. Has the grass in the middle of the image still there or are there pitches.

    Brian.

An alternative to Castleton and Chatsworth in the Peak District, just off Monsal Trail with lots of walking etc.  Beechcroft Farm, great facilities, warm welcome and a lot cheaper...

We agree MT Beechcroft is a great alternative and well priced with excellent facilities and as you say easy access to the Monsall trail and the lovely surrounding area and easy to get too with public transport very close.

Just noticed, after posting about it on a different thread, that I haven't included the following site on here.

    www.merthyrfarm.co.uk

The drive in is not for the feint of heart but no worse than some CLs we've been to and a lovely site nonetheless.

Just been to Portmeirion today. They are building a 23 pitch Motorhome site there. All singing, all dancing and opening in July.

How could you tell the difference  between a dog owner and a non-dog owner, I wonder?

Some of you may already know of Low Sizergh Barn Shop (especially if you've stayed at the CAMC Kendal site).

They have just opened their new campsite - a C&CC CS.

5 caravan pitches, 10 tent pitches and a camping pod.

    https://www.sizerghfarm.co.uk/

Too near for us, but handy for the M6 etc.

P.S. I had better mention that the farm, shop and now campsite are run by a branch of our family!

Doesn't the limit for the other club make this club stupid with its strict 5.and at least 50 years out of date.

It’s the law, Fish, nothing to do with this club's rules.

Whoops, sorry, I forgot the 'no discussions' advice. 🤐

Just wondering why would anyone opt for a CL when the other club offers so much. Is this the main reason for the decline in the network?

They might not want to put in a toilet, which IMO would be a must if one is going to allow tents on the site.

If you mean the C&CC it offers me nothing that I cannot get from CMC and in some ways, with regard to their sites and my preferences less

It’s useful to know that some sites allow tents, might be useful for us, we still have our tent, and love sites like this.

You come across to me like the woman who once asked me to put my dog on its lead while I exercised it in my local country park (Burrs to be precise),  because apparently her 2 kids were frightened of dogs. She was most put out when I said no & suggested that a Sat afternoon in a country park was perhaps not the best place to be if she/her kids were frightened of dogs. ☺

I witness regularly the selfish way dog owners behave. Exercising their dogs on football pitches, childrens playgrounds, On club sites even when they have dog walks. etc. Multiple dogs on leads in towns getting in everyones way. But most annoying is dogs off lead with livestock. The dog owners stock answer " my dog is OK with sheep"> Lot of nonsense as the increase we see in Sheep being killed.
