Club sites - advance booking system

I'm not in the know but I was given an inkling awhile back but the Club's wants don't always come off. As was said somewhere else, they are always on the lookout for expansion sites soso something is bound to turn up sooner or later.

Haven't been on this forum for ages.
Groundhog Day!
Pay in full on weekend bookings at point of sale.
Restriction on weekend bookings for the same site per yeat.
Reduce the number of seasonal pitches on sites like Castleton which are always booked up.
A few ideas....

I've just logged in to try to book a pitch at Broadway for a few days next month, but sadly all appears to be booked up right through until next year!!! It is obviously more popular since the railway has been extended particularly with rail enthusiasts. But I must say I wonder whether there is a proportion of folk booking as they fancy the site with its added attraction but who will subsequently cancel nearer the time thus procluding others from booking. I agree there are time when folk maybe have to cancel at short notice due to illness or other previously unforeseen problems, but I do feel that there is an essence of booking several sites just so to speak get the oar in.
Don't normal moan but felt really disappointed as we really like this site.

It’s not possible to book multi sites for the same dates, VV.
As for whether people will cancel - who knows? See the other numerous posts in this thread regarding the speculation about cancellations with nothing to substantiate those thoughts.
I guess the moral of the story is to book early but you could try ringing the warden.
By the way, there are plenty of HS pitches available mid-week at Broadway in April.

Vince - try Broadway again but scroll down to the HS pitches section. Although the weekends appear to be booked there's plenty of availability during the weeks. It's one of the charms () of this system that when you go forward to the next month it appears to be fully booked, orange, at first, but after a few seconds turns blue to show availability.
So good luck, Broadway is a very nice site in a superb part of the country.

We are now retired so we can take advantage of weekday availability, we are also members of the C&CC but we hardly book any of their sites due to a deposit being required.
Due to lots of family reasons plans often need to be amended, we had difficulty cancelling a booking with the C&CC for one night and since then our preference has been to use CAMC sites, it also gives the club sites an advantage over most commercial sires who require deposits.
I am sure we are not alone in often having to change our plans for whatever reason !

Never mind. It’s a golden oldie.

Anyone else think this forum is like watching the BBC? Those loved but essentially simple ideas keep showing up as repeats every now and then? Bringing the fun to the next generation😂

yes indeed, and the more contentious the thread the more likely the thread is to be repeated.
Can anyone find Sunday departures?

Sunday what?🤔

I reckon at 10k+ posts they had to completely remove Sunday Deps in order to free up enough capacity to make the site run as efficiently and speedily as it does.

It was, as I recall, a thread by IanH that wanted to let people on Sunday stay past 12 to have a decent weekend break. He was quite keen on the idea.
I'm sure that I recall correctly? anyone?

Ahh yes I remember it well...

Subject, of course, to the proviso that you didn't pitch "door to door".
