Anybody curious can hire a Leaf from Hertz

There'll be plenty on my drive for free in a couple of weeks.

Yes but there are, I think, at least two sites with fast EV charge points?

Can I draw your attention to the  DG's opinion in the November magazine. (Last para) I hope the Club is considering metering as a way forward both for fast charge points and pitch facilities.

I would have a look, but although they are clearly already sending them out by post, the online version still only shows October. If they are as efficient at considering metering, I should be safe in my lifetime.😂

Site surveys are incredibly important to the club and the site staff. Quite a few comments have been made about charging points.

My understanding is that there are different types of electrical connectors with some specific brands requiring different voltage/amperes. So, it is a bit of a minefield.

In recent years we have seen an increase in 8 foot wide caravans. However, with the potential increase in electric/hybrid cars it seems that we possibly will be returning to smaller caravans to compensate for towing ability and range of the said vehicles

Sorry Steve, prompted by your post I had another look at my magazine which I had only just got round to opening, it is in fact the "Opinion" page of the October issue.

The Club is considering all options, but at the moment, it is not clear as to the best direction.  The number of folk charging electric cars on site is relatively small, and the last time I heard, it would cost more to install charging points than would be offset by the income that would be gained from using them.  Also, and I'm no expert, but have been led to believe there is more than one system.  The way it was put to me was the old VHS/ BetaMax video system.  Eventually VHS won and BetaMax became the fossil.  The Club is reluctant to install expensive equipment which may become fossilized!!

However, since all this, I have read that the Club have started to experiment and have installed charging points on a couple of sites (don't ask me where - someone did post this somewhere on CT).  No doubt we will see how it all goes.

With regard to hiring cars, should this be made available from sites, I suspect it would need to be run through a third party company who havexexpertise in this - perhaps the same way as Wi-Fi is run by a third party....

Quite a while back I read of two being installed at Brighton. No idea what happened though.  PeeDee posted a link which no longer works or I may have read elsewhere. I wonder if it died a death?
