The rain in Spain

Hi

Falls mainly south of Alicante.

Most of the Alicante/Murcia region was visited by Dana last weekend leaving major Destruction and in particular the villages of Almoradi and Dolores where we store our Motorhome which is now under three foot of water at the moment coming down from five foot on Sunday.

The village we live in is situated fortunately on top of a hill so are lucky but it is completely surrounded by water and from our viewpoint we can see the devastation that as hit the low lying villages around us like Dolores where the Guardia are restricting access so cant get too our motorhome at the moment but we are the lucky ones some have lost everything including their lives/houses the Government have called a National emergency.

By calling a National emergency the insurance companies have washed their hands of any responsibility so any claims have to be done through the government so if any of you have outfits in storage out here i know quite a few who do so they don't have to tow you will now need to contact the Spanish Government insurance, I have the numbers if required.

Driving along the AP-7 this morning  towards Elche it looked like the Everglades with only the Costa Blanca Marjal site the island oasis, sorry don't know about the other sites in the area so if any of you  coming this way in the next two months I would advise a call to the site.

Phil

Guess where our waterproofs and wellies are???

How has San Fulgencio fared? Pretty badly I would imagine with that canal that ran along the roadside. We used to attend the church there when we were in Spain.

It has fared pretty badly along with most of the low lying villages and is still under water though they are pumping the water out into the canal and onto the river, we live in Benijofar so on a hill but the orange groves here have been badly affected.
