Arrival Times

corners, nothing to do with singling out the club in my post, merely that their 'timetable driven' approach to wardens' workload means staff aren't available to check folk in, other than after the chores have been done...
so, even if the site was empty, if the staff were cleaning toilets, how could you check in?
My 'theory' may be that to you, except I've seen this process operate for many years at several sites (not in the uk, granted) but other than being geared up staff wise to accommodate it, it makes no difference where you are....of course on thise sites....the cleaning staff are cleaning the toilets and the recption staff are checking folk in..
is it not better to guide a customer into a vacant pitch (or chose from those vacant pitches) rather than make them wait at the gate where a queue soon forms and then, at 12 when 'lights out and away we go' the Grand Prix starts with vans starting their circular ritual seeking out the best pitch...
I see none of that on the sites I've described, but I can only report those sitings, you can take my word for it (which you obviously don't) for or not, I doesnt really matter.
as you say, not a great problem for us....a THS for a couple of weeks tomorrow....no booking, no arrival times, terrific location and cheap as chips...

Very droll!
Yes, charged an extra night for the privilege of being allowed on some holding area with no facilities! Actually, I gave the full quote just to redress the rather selective bit that et used.
I could mention another Cornish site that we used for many years before I retired where we used to arrive at about 8pm the evening before our booked arrival and be allowed to use such an area (and all the site facilities) for free!

I'm really sorry to read you experienced this issue again. I will forward this discussion on to the site operations team for their reference and feedback.

sorry David but that does not make sense, note the and in bold below, I'll repost one last time:
but we use a lot of sites and always use the showers and the washups, toilets to a lesser extent and rarely have we found better than the club offer.
So when you advised HD to try them, what did you think he was 'scarred' of?
anyway off topic so no more, but you carry on if you wish

Well I have explained that can only happen on single set warden sites. at all others (the vast majority) the office is staffed and open from morning till close of play. If you want to employ cleaners on single set warden sites then this will result in higher fees and you have posted many times that club sites are expensive as they are.
(not in the uk, granted) so largely irrelevant in the UK sites section where all large sites do not operate in this way. Actually three large sites in Tuscany I know of and have used have a set arrival and departure time.
