You asked and did not Specify, but then i expect with your attitude to others who do not now go over there, with an LV ,your post,is a bit pathetic,as how ever any one travels ,the sight from any form of ground level transport is the same or even better when not driving and admiring the scenery rather that as should when driving, look where you are going and what others could be doing ,and more so in some countries

Well, what an odd response. You setting yourself up as a moderator then David? Isn't this section about overseas sites "& touring"?
I have been referring to Dunclair's comments about what to expect in the UK, which were nothing to do with caravanning specifically. Maybe you'd like to challenge him about those comments?. How you arrive in a particular location is entirely irrelevant to observationse such as that.
But if you want an example of somewhere we've visited recently, I could mention a visit to Pompeii a couple of years ago - UK tourist spots could certainly learn a lesson or two about money grabbing, dirt and rudeness from the traders there!

"…please observe the community guidelines and stick to those places you have been and stayed under your own steam and reserve package trip reports for general chat."
Made up a new rule have you, David? What a hoot!😂
Btw, I’ve straightened up your avatar pic for you. Happy to help👍🏻

I thought that was your new van🤔. Thanks, I look forward to the new pic👍🏻
Is this the bit of the guidelines you’re referring to? "Be truthful about your experiences." Surely you’re not suggesting people are fibbing?😧 Nowhere can I see anything saying trips must be made under our own steam.🤷🏻♂️

A couple of years, really? Until recently on my machine there was a pic of you which this smiley always reminds me of😏. No offence, it’s actually quite cute.
Sorry to disillusion you, but I take no interest in your movements. What’s the new van, then?

To return to the point about whether or not one is qualified to comment on Dunclair's observations, I might add that in our camping days we spent much time driving through France, Belgium, Holland, Luxembourg and Germany. More recently, on "package" holidays we have hired cars to tour in Spain, Italy, Cyprus and each of the Canary Islands. So we do get around and see quite a lot of local life in all these varied areas.
As I understand it, David (and I do read your posts and those of others with interest), you spend many days driving 7+ hours on motorways to arrive at a location where you then stay for several weeks. (That's not a criticism, by the way, you clearly enjoy doing it and that's absolutely your choice).
But I do wonder if the contrast between your own and our experiences is as stark as you always imply.
