Hope you have a better day today B2.

Some friends of ours are doing the "pre-wedding" photo bit for their daughter too, I'd not heard of it before either.

Another lovely day looming, the forecast is good for the next few days. Might go out and look at some spring flowers before doing some gardening here.

Enjoy your day, hope DD doesn't find it's flat at the end of the world...where exactly is it?! laughing

Meeting up with some former colleagues for lunch today, mainly retirees now.  The venue is down in Ayr for some reason, so a bit to go.  Have not seen most of them for several years as the company no longer invites the pensioners to the Christmas meal, so will be good to catch up and compare grandchildren photos!

Going to stop off on the way home to replenish my wardrobe, seems I am on my last pair of decent jeans, all this work at the house has taken its toll on the knees of all my other pairs!

Part day off tomorrow to get van ready for service, then dinner at DD's as they have asked us to babysit in the evening.  Day off on Monday as I have a woodturners meeting, and Tuesday too as we take the van to our dealer.

As the work at the house is nearly done meantime, I will need to pack up all my tools to bring home this week.

As with others fingers crossed for a better day B2.

Our daughter had pre wedding photos. The photographer came to our house about 3 hours before the wedding taking informal shots of us all drinking champagne etc., then bride and bridesmaids getting ready etc.

Lovely sunny here in Suffolk just right to be out in the van enjoying everything British🌞

Just catching up with everyone's news, tried last night, but kept bring interupted surprised.

Been to a local fames market this morning, couldn't resist the Lardy Cake wink Also took the caravan back to storage, someone in the street has complained about it being on the drive,  it's only ever parked there for a few days just before and after we go away. We have lived here 13 years and no one has complained before .

Bakers2, Best wishes from me to you both,  take care.

Oops interupted again, youngest son and his girlfriend have just turned up, will have to catch up later! laughing

H & T,  most  unkind  to  tell  me  you've  bought  some  Lardy Cake  surprised.  It's  my  preferred  Emergency  Sugar Level  Maintainer,  when  I'm  ambling  round  the G D S Fair  tongue-out.  Takes  almost  no  carrying  at  all  wink.

B2,  hoping  &  praying  that  the  standard  of  care  your  OH  receives  from  now  on  is  even  better  than  you  are  hoping  for  !  It  seems  utterly  appalling  that  certain  units  of  the  "Caring  Profession"  just  don't  seem  to  care yell

Our Gig going is still ongoing. Last night we went to see Megson at Kendal Brewery Arts Centre. I've been waiting for them to come to a venue near us, and it was worth the wait. Uplifting songs, beautiful harmonies, wonderful string playing and interaction with the audience.

One song off their new album was very true to life (they all were) - click on the link to listen.

Tonight we having a belated Burns Night Supper. I bought a large Haggis at a knock down price and stuck it in the freezer until we had enough people round the table to justify it. Tonight there will be nine of us, so it's -

Haggis, Neeps & Tatties. And my interpretation of Cranachan converted into a crumble.

OH may get his tartan waistcoat and bow tie out.

Thinking about you Bakers. You do have to keep an eye on things once loved ones go onto Wards. I hope each day improves for you steadily, as it should.

Nellie, the heki is fully fixed and back in, saved a packet with OH doing job himself. This lovely weather made things easier. All done from inside MH as well. We have just bought a few items to put in ready for off, but we won’t decide where until we get a weather forecast next weekend, West or East. We prefer North Wales, haven’t been for quite a while, and folks suggested some lovely new to us sites, and most of the big castles are likely to be open. We want to have a look around Dolgellau area as well, as I have found a cottage that might suit for Mum later in year. It could be all off touring wise if weather changes, if that happens I will book a late cottage. We can hunker down round a stove and take the Jeep for a play if it snows!😁

Another decent day here today, not so much sun but mild enough.

Went for another bike ride 10 mile this time, taking it easy just now to get back into it as we haven't been on them since end of October.

OH finished the fence panel this morning while I was sorting out indoors.

Off to see Mum tomorrow morning, then think we will pop out to a dealers to have a look around. We are not going to buy but OH missed the shows so want to have a look see laughing

Bakers, hope OH (and yourself) has a better day today.

NTH, yes we are off again next week to Lanzarote. We are already planning our trip away in the van though, we haven't used it since October so itching to get away again.

Haggis is thought to have been first been eaten by the Border Reavers and not an original over the Border "delicacy"

Another brilliant sunny day with temperatures hitting 17C.  Went to Lackford Lakes and watched a couple of kingfishers flirting, fantastic.

Visited a cousin in Dianne T’s neck of the woods, unfortunately didn’t have time to see Dianne and John.

Back at van and night sky is stunning

Good to hear that OH has fixed the Heki. By the look of the forecast the next couple of weeks promise to be fine. We're trying to decide if we should go to Wales or Scotland after Easter, so we too are looking for sites in both areas and the very long distant forecast. Should you go to Wales and find some good sites it would be good if you could point them out to us, you know the type we like.wink

Going just to look can have an expensive outcome TG!! You better keep a tight grip on OH's wallet.wink

Grand bit of spotting, OP. With a bit of luck we'll see a Kingfisher too at our next site.

Mrs WN tweaked a knee coming down from Gummers How yesterday so we kept it simple today and restricted ourselves to a 6 mile stroll over Hampstead Fell from Cartmel to Grange and back. Lovely day for it. We came across a poem attached to a lampost for the enjoyment of walkers. Mrs WN took a photo but its slightly askew. Hope it comes out as I am using my laptop. Nellie we cheated a bit yesterday because of time and drove to Staveley-u-Cartmel to walk up G.H.

Mrs WN will have a fitness test on Monday (10 times up and down caravan step) to see if she's fit enough to tackle Harrison Stickle and Pavey Ark.

TG - Keep away from the Motorhomes!😀

Good day out meeting old friends, and a decent lunch too.

Stopped off at M&S on the way back to buy some underwear as OH had a 20% off voucher.  Our receipt included a £5 off food voucher, so another purchase was made and we now have dinners for the next week or so too.

Unfortunately the Alde boiler is not yet fixed, it had gone off again by this morning.  Another fiddle with that fuse brought it back to life momentarily, but it is going to need more investigation.   frown

Will do, I started a thread about Wales (think it’s in UK touring) and folks gave some good advice and ideas there. We used to use Beddgelert all the time in the past, I want to go back to see what it’s like now. It will possibly be a tad more expensive than we like, but as a location for walks it is/was superb. We shall probably only have a couple of nights there, so we can lower our nightly average elsewhere!wink

Hope that Mrs WN's knee is better for your walk on Monday. Are you having a easy day tomorrow at Leighton Moss? Love the poem, think I'll ask for that to be carved on my grave stone!!

After our weekly shop at Aldi we visited a Buddhist retreat today, Kilnwick Percy Hall, just outside of Pocklington. Not for meditation but to do the 3 walks round the grounds. Then we drove down to Canal Head for a further walk, in beautiful sunny weather, along the old canal tow path, as far as Coates Bridge and back.

Once again thanks for your kind thoughts and wishes.

OH had dialysis overnight Friday and very good care. Potassium levels much more stable and his output levels are up. He's had potassium fluids most if not all days, to support his heart, but levels have been stable for more than a week. Just over 24 hours on alledgely high dependency part of cardiac ward it reaches very top of 'normal'. I suspected lack of fluids being the cause and queried it yesterday with ITU Dr who couldn't comment but smile told me what I needed to know, really lovely man, and said he would be keeping him until at  least Monday.  So reassuring.  You really do need an advocate when you're in hospital. I couldn't get a straight answer on when he managed to remove nasal gastric tube but he wasn't given feed until 5.30pm.

One of his cousins and her father,  last one of his generation, visited yesterday, cousin had been week before. Once OH awoke, I'm happy he sleeps - a great medience as far as I'm concerned! He was very with it and actually used a quite strong voice to greet his uncle by name. All 3 of us impressed by his alertness etc after we'd had a catch up in the visitors room. 2 visitors at a time so kept it up for getting on for an hour, but very tired towards the end. They went and I spent another hour or more while he rested and eventually started to snore 😂😂 before I left.

It's lovely to read all about your days it reminds me that there is  'proper' life going on.

JVB you seem to be doing very well, keep up the good work. I hope your follow up appointments prove your success. OH has received 2 outpatients appointments already one for April other for May, 2 different hospitals so I know where we'll be spending our days out 😂😂

Bakers2 very glad to hear things are going in the right direction for your OH.  Hopefully now he will continue in the right direction, fingers crossed for you both.  I fully remember when my late Mum was in hospital, a few years back now, it was so frustrating trying to get answers from anyone, Doctors and Nurses!  Sometimes you would find a ‘golden person’ who seemed to know exactly what was going on with her and her treatment but sadly they wouldn’t always be around.  I love and support our wonderful NHS and I fully realise they are under extreme pressure but just a little time given to relatives make a huge difference.  Best wishes to you.

Can’t imagine the roller coaster you have been going through B2 but hopefully you are both in for a smoother ride in the days to come.

Hard frost last night, sun is out now burning off a little mist.  Meeting up with Mrs Ones sister and husband at Minsmere.  Be good to be out with them as their bird knowledge is brilliant and can identify most species by their call.

    Enjoy your day folk
