Hi can anyone recommend an Acsi campsite on this island.

We've stayed at La Tour des Prises a few times no 1677 in Acsi 2019 book.
Its near to La Couarde -sur-Mer and pretty central to everything on the island. If you like to cycle there are very good cycle paths from right outside the front of the site straight into the vine yards and across the island.
Its an easy cycle over to St Martin-de-Re or up to the lighthouse at the top of the island.

We stayed at Les Varennes, number 1682 in this years guide. It's only a small site, typically a bit cramped but we enjoyed it. Easy walk into the pleasant small town of Les-Bois-Plage-en-Ré.
As Tammy said the island is excellent for cycling.

just to add a little more variety, we like La Grainetiére at La Flotte, nice walk into a very pleasant harbour town with plenty going on.
on TG/AD recommendation we also used Le Tour des Prises last time and liked its central location.
in fact we stayed on Ré twice last year, once in a 'mobile home' on the municipal with in laws in St Martin. that was OK, too...
we didn't have bikes with us then (looking after two older folk...so had our car) but not half the fun....
