We've stayed at La Tour des Prises  a few times no 1677 in Acsi 2019 book.

Its near to La Couarde -sur-Mer and pretty central to everything on the island. If you like to cycle there are very good cycle paths from right outside the front of the site straight into the vine yards and across the island.

Its an easy cycle over to St Martin-de-Re or up to the lighthouse at the top of the island.

We stayed at Les Varennes, number 1682 in this years guide. It's only a small site, typically a bit cramped but we enjoyed it. Easy walk into the pleasant small town of Les-Bois-Plage-en-Ré.

As Tammy said the island is excellent for cycling.

We stayed at camping Bel Air, a short walk from La Flotte. Unable to use our bikes anymore, we used the bus service to visit St Martin.

Here's our story with pictures.La Flotte
