We are also members of both Clubs, but tend only to use the C&CC once a year, when we go with friends.  That reminds me, I must go and book for our May day friends gathering....

I understand the "discount"is not available all the time ,and that discriminates yet again against families, where as this clubs midweek discounts and kids for a pound does notwink

It does go to show that they appreciate the "older" member more thoughsurprised

We joined the other club about 18 months ago, we used them more than this club last year for sites.

Each has there good bits, I like the ease of booking with this club, be it for sites or ferries. Getting an online quote is easy.

The other club takes a bit of searching for things, no online quote for their overseas breakdown and personal cover. Also if you book a an overseas site with them there is a booking fee of £75 if you don't book the ferry with them. The ferry prices are around the same or they will price match so just have to remember who to book ferry with.

Been pleasantly surprised with their sites, they have improved from when we last looked at them. Although most of their facilities blocks are not as good as this club.

However their pricing is better and the discount for over 60's is welcome.

We've always belonged to both, they compliment each other, not a lot of price difference but they provide a big choice of sites and venues between them.

I've been a member of both clubs for around 8 years. For me the C&CC caravan insurance is good value and cheaper than the CC.

I use bothe clubs sites depending on location. I find the C&CC sites a little less formal and regimented and they usually have a larger mix of age ranges than the CC. I also benefit from the age discount.

    It’s the "Friendly Club".

In 46 years of membership I’ve not had occasion to disagree with that.

Their forum's rubbish though, even judging by CT standards, but my biggest gripe is the minimum night booking restriction at certain times.

I am too but the CAMC does mid week and all inclusive £15 sites so between them I think they balance out. smile

quality is in the eye of the beholder and only you, or the OP, can make that choice, if it seems better quality and/or value then go for it.

We've always belonged to both clubs - C&CC goes back to our tenting days. Both clubs have their advantages, belonging to both certainly gives more choice of location. On the whole I do think CAMC sites have slightly better pitches and facilities, but the other club are catching up fast as far as provision for vanners is concerned. Indeed some of their sites we've stayed on in the past couple of years are every bit as good as CAMC sites. (And yes, the age discount is a factor, though it's not a deal breaker for us! wink)

we make very good use of their THS (temp holiday sites) as they are often close in to town centres and don't need to be booked. many tour from one to another without the need to commit, also pay on departure, also very good value at £6-10 a night.

    well stop using it.

When people talk of brand loyalty like this then they usually mean that they wish they the price of the long serving brand wasn't as expensive as the other product but they want to continue, why do they want to? Better something? quality? Otherwise why even say that, how long you have used something should play no part in buying another (if the only thing that has changes is price)

The lower figure will be for no map (or handbook) no use to me in planning my tours. The other factor when considering the options is how many Club sites each has and how many 5 van sites (I know that CS sites are not simply 5 van)

If that suits, I don't like planning strings of sites without a map personally. And trying to do so on C&CC website would not be conducive to my mental well being

I have been a CCC member for over thirty years and I have noticed small changes which does have an impact especially when touring. The first "change" was the  13:00 hrs arrival time,A simple hour does not sound a lot but when you are used to  leaving  at 9:00ish and have to clock watch so you do not arrive early at the next site is a right pain.Waiting in a layby for an hour does test the patience,Now staying on site to 11:00 is quite normal before departure.

The second is their confusing no booking one night,I still get confused, with this.

But there rallying with no bookings, and THS sites programme does make up along with the age concession.

Some of their sites,ie Devises and Teversal are up there with the best though.

The other club offers the same.

Hedge your bets and join both for a year then, if you don’t like one of them, drop it. It’s not a big deal.

i have been a member of this organisation for well over 40 years,I have joined (left) the other club several times over the years, currently a member for the last 3 years.the renewal for that club arrived today and as a recently (18 months) retired 74 year old I have started to look at costs compared with value for money and the "club" experience! At present the management of this organisation seem to be going their own way without consultation with the shareholders (members)very much like politicians!frown
