Hi David, the week before last visited our MH friends that we holiday with and he had his ACSI book already.

Have noticed that a lot of the sites we are considering for next year, particularly in Spain, have cut off dates well before the end of June and when trying to compare prices with non ACSI find that they are not yet available for 2019.

I did look at ordering from the club a couple of weeks ago but the buy now button was not working. Looking at prices seems that the clubs is quite good, I have done it direct with ACSI previously as I had a € card but will use the club now if we can find any sites we like, take ACSI when we visit and the savings add up.

I looked at the club's offer which is reasonable but no mention of the app.  Is this included or a separate purchase?

The app is separate; I've never bought it, but you can get it by logging into the ACSI website and quoting the number on your ACSI card; I think it's €3.59.

Or it may be possible to get both at the same time via ACSI or Vicarious Books.

Thanks. We have used both these suppliers in the past.

the app is quite good, the best thing is the interactive map, where finding a site by area is quite easy...but then again, so is the paper map.

it also has many hundreds of camperstops not featured in the book

the downside is it takes time to load the data (every time you open it) and the data takes up 2--3 gb which can be a lot on an iPad or phone.

if you use campingcar-infos you can get all this stuff without the data (or cost) penalty.

I would add caution about joining ACSI as you can only do so by having a direct debit to your credit card. We cancelled our membership two years as for personal reasons we have no intention of going overseas in the foreseeable future. Despite having e-mails confirming the cancellation of my membership, they still sen the pack out last year and took the money off my card.

I did inform them that I had cancelled but apparently, their process is very slow and so the new one was sent before the cancellation went through. Not quite true, but for £14 not worth arguing.

However, this year yet again a pack arrives and the credit card has been deducted. Credit card company states that unlike current accounts you cannot cancel a direct debit, it can only be done by ACSI. (is this one of the reasons you can only subscribe by credit card?)

I not not rolling over this year and have given them 2 weeks notice to either refund my monies or else I will seek reimbursement through the small claims court (possibly jointly with the credit card company)

However, the warning is that in my experience ACSI should be treated with great caution as its a bit like the Hotel California in that once in you can never leave.

We receive an annual email from ACSI confirming that our subscription is due for renewal - which gives you ample chance to say that you don't wish to renew.  Obviously some people don't receive this.  This year this email was sent to us on the 29th October 2018.

I have bought the books via ACSI direct, but never subscribed, therefore having more control.  I paid each year when asked to, until this year, when the C&CC had a better deal with free postage.  I received emails from ACSI, asking for payment, so I emailed back to say I would not be ordering from them, and that was the end of it.

I did receive their emails in plenty of time to cancel though, did you not receive those reminders, or did they end up in your spam folder or somewhere other than your inbox?
