Dry but dreary day today did watch four red kites wheeling overhead ,being mobbed by the local crows or jackdaws we have large populations of them , most of the leaves now on the ground in the woods Rosa has a great time chasing the squirrel population
Have spent most of today finalising bookings for next year 20 club sites (some more than once) 1 CL and 1 Commercial site,up to Nov 2019
Still two more bookings for this year to take up

I hope Mrs WN and your MIL enjoy their Madeira trip, it sounds as though they need it. During the week ahead my sister and myself with our husbands take my Mum's ashes to their final resting place in Warwickshire as per Mum's request. I thought about others who have to do this and our trip will be emotional but not too difficult, we are grateful we haven't got to climb any hills, put to sea or reach some remote spot in wintery weather.
On a more cheerful note we did some final large scale leaf sweeping this morning and then had a nice Sunday roast at our daughter's home.

Hope the day goes as well as it can for you Brue.
It's always a bit emotional at this time of year for MIL as FIL passed away just Christmas. Anyway we found a lovely little Italian cafe/restaurant. She got a bit teary when talking about some of photos she found so she went to the bathroom. The main waiter, a lovely tall grey headed Italian stopped her and gave her a big hug. She's about 4'10" and he was at least 6'4". He told us she reminded him of his own momma. It seemed to reinvigerate her.
I'll probably be tearing my hair out with her tomorrow.

Just been catching up on some of the comments..... I've only just managed to get my flu jab. Apparently, the jab for the over 65's is different to the jab which the under 65's get, and it's the over 65 jab that have been in short supply. I eventually had to get mine done at the chemist, but at least it's done now.

Third fine sunny day on the trot, which has enabled me to clean both the outside and inside of the caravan. We're well on our way to being ready for our next trip.
Glad that the day went well for you WN. Hope that it does for you too brue.

Looking like it might be a dry day and as most of the leaves are now down, I might get up and clean out the gutters. Always a delightful job!!

Good Morning,
Feeling a little sad, the caravan has been emptied and put away for the winter, too many commitments for Christmas and the New Year to be able to use it. Have had a wonderful time in her this year and look forward to more next year.
I good bit is that now have more time to catch up on here, and spend time with friends.
Hope you are all well, and have also enjoyed your days away.

Arrived home this morning after a lovely break at Moreton in Marsh for the Christmas Market and lights switch on. It was a quick turnaround as I was at work this afternoon.
Got to see the new Glamping Pods that they have introduced at Moreton, there are ten of them, next to the dog field and playground. They were much smaller than I had imagined and only one was occupied.
DSB sorry to here you have a poorly dog, hope she gets better soon.
Cariadon glad you have had a good caravanning year, we have also enjoyed some lovely holidays this year, and one more trip to go next month,

Woke this morning to find water dripping from the central heating pump
, fitted new seals and good as new , then had a phone call from my mum to say she had water leaking from the toilet cistern, so while I've got my plumbing tools out if any has a leak give me a shout
1 -
Can you mend dishwashers husky?
0 -
No plumbing tasks required Husky but could do with a wizard on Samsung tablets. Don't know what happened but I appear to have lost all the data held in my calendar before November 2017. I record all the sites we stay on, how we like them etc. it was ok the other day when I checked on something but today everything gone
OH trying to fix it but no joy so far. Will ring Samsung help tomorrow.
Rain and grey again today, certainly no problem now with the reservoirs and rivers now.
We have a poorly cat, not that its our cat, its next doors but they don't give a .... told them this morning she wasn't well and gave her back to them. Not long after she was back at our house where she's been ever since. A little food ate but she's just sleeping lying on the settee, something she never does. Our neighbour on the other side said she had been in with her all weekend just sleeping. Not sure what to do with her tonight, we normally put her out so she can go home but they will not have her in the house (she has the shed) its pretty cold outside for a poorly cat.

Please keep her indoors Tammygirl. Poor little thing. I don't think cats should ever be outside at night. I am not impressed with your neighbours. Some people should not allowed to have animals.

We have had a busy and enjoyable weekend. On Saturday we had a family visit to The Winter Lights at Anglesey Abbey which was a lovely evening as always. It was a great start to Christmas. Yesterday we went to the Memorial Service of a much loved Canon of Peterborough Cathedral and later an inspiring tutor at Peterborough Adult College after he retired. He died suddenly in the summer hill climbing in Scotland aged 85. I was asked to give one of the readings. I was totally out of my comfort zone as it is not something I would normally do, also it was a very long reading
. Luckily it went OK
So sorry to hear that Lizzie is not well DSB. I do hope she is improving. It is always upsetting when they are not well as they cannot tell us how they feel. Best wishes.
You sound as though you had a lovely weekend Helen. So glad you enjoyed the Christmas market. I am hoping to persuade OH to accompany me to the Christmas craft market at the Cathedral this weekend. We saw the camping pods at Houghton Mill this summer and they are also very small.
It has rained on and off all day here today and cold with it. High winds and more rain to come by 'Wednesday

Good for you Tammygirl. My parents took in their neighbours little cat years ago for similar reasons and then took full responsibility for her in the end. We then 'inherited' her when my parents moved into sheltered housing. The poor little cat lived a very nomadic life.

Sorry to hear about your dog David, and your neighbours cat TG. Hope that they are both soon better.
Sounds like a great time was had at Anglesey Abbey, millie. And well done with the reading at the memorial service, not something that I would have wanted to be asked to do.
We've had another fine sunny day. Got lots of small jobs done on and around the caravan, floor covering laid, cushions covered, fridge cleaned, waste pipes flushed out and cleaned, spray greased the motor mover, replenished toilet fluid bottles and topped up Alde system. Now we are ready for the off.

Lizzie seems a little better today, Millie. It looks as if the antibiotics and the ear spray is taking effect. She has to go back to see the vet on Wednesday, so keeping oyr fingers crossed.
Glad you had a good weekend. We've decided to go up to Chatsworth Christmas market on Saturday. Not taking the Caravan though - just going for the afternoon.
Sorry to hear about the poorly cat. Hope things improve there too. As you quite rightly say, one of the most distressing things is they can't tell you what is wrong. 😐

I'm sure you managed just fine, Milliehull. It's when you get a reading with a long genealogy and unpronounceable names that it gets interesting.

Cold, grey and foggy here, not inspiring st all 😲
Wishing the poorly, animals included better.
Swift visit from son and DIL2B at the weekend, nice to catch up a bit. Sad that the dog went with them. We had a great time but the little traitor said goodbye without a backward glance 😢😢.
Went out to by soft cloths for car polishing 😂😂 an unknown task here, along with car washing 😉, yesterday. Bought my outdoor cyclemens for the conservatory at Christmas for family members no longer with us. Must go out and find the pots they go in very soon and place them on the window sill, they were in need if a good drink so spent the night soaking in a bowl. Also cracked a few Christmas gifts, don't buy many these days, still some to go. Discovered I don't have many last year surplus cards so will need to get some along with special cards, hopefully today.
Thinking of you brue as you do the last task for your mum. I always think a burial completes the farewell at one time, don't want that myself! But a cremation isn't as 'tidy' in that sense, at least she told you where she wanted to go.
Milliehull well done on giving a reading be very proud of yourself, not an easy task.
Tammygirl if your neighbours aren't interested in their cat maybe you could contact the RSPCA, or Scottish version, or PDSA, even a local vet? about it. Clearly you couldn't take it on with your lifestyle, maybe your other neighbours would be interested in the cat. Some folks just couldn't care less about other living creatures 😢😢

Totally agree, Mum took in a few cats down the years. All our three were rescued, two as tiny kittens, fed with a pipette at first. Awkward knowing what to do for you TG. Sure to be a Cats Protection set up somewhere though, most towns sadly have one.
Hope other folks pets are feeling a bit better. We are on cottage countdown, a few appointments to get through this week, then we start packing. I am off to Physiotherapist this afternoon, see if my aching shoulders can be sorted. Pondering on how one can be “too young” for a particular diagnosis, when every sign and symptom is there, and one’s Mum developed it at an even younger age! Cars to be MOT tested as well, fingers crossed all is well, no obvious issues.

Very foggy start to the day,and cold with it,walking in the woods it was like rain dropping off the trees, the grounds man for the cricket club had a large pile of leaves on one edge of the site that neither the dog that Rosa was running with, or her, thought about and went strait in ended with just two very suprised heads sticking out of the middle
Ordered some new wellies on line from manufacturer yesterday, just had email they are on the way for delivery today
treads on current ones worn out so not safe in wet/muddy conditions but they have been good for several years so same make again
Going to bring the "sit out" tables and chairs home from c/van to store for winter as next few trips do not think they will be used,so back of car will remain clear when away for next few months

We have a local cat who thinks it is his right to sneak into anyone's house. We've had a few visits, when we have left the front door open for a few minutes while going out to the car etc. The dog just didn't know what to do with herself when we had the first visit. The lady who owns the cat has warned everyone not to feed it!

Bit brighter today we have a bit of sunshine
still chilly out though.
Cat spent all night on the settee on a cosy fleece throw. Tried to encourage her to go outside (for toilet) no deal. She's not interested in food, though goes to it an has a sniff, trying to encourage her to drink but again no interest. This is a 2 year old usually full of life greedy cat, so I know she's not right.
Have had a good feel can't find anything , she doesn't limp when she walks, so I don't think she has been hit by a car or anything. No signs of a fight, fur intact. I've been to see her owners again, still no real interest in her plight
I've told them (her) she needs to see a vet. I at least found out who there vet is and informed them (her) that if I think she is getting worse I will take her there myself.
I called PDSA who were not really that helpful, "take her to a vet" was all I could get out of the woman on the phone.
I would love to take her in but as Bakers said it wouldn't be fair on her with our lifestyle. The neighbour the other side would love her too but she is 92 years old, so again not fair. The cat is very much an outdoor cat under normal circumstances. Really makes me angry that they even got a cat, it was only because she wanted another baby (this was 3 months after just having one) her husband said no more. So she got a cat
the cat won't go anywhere near her or the children so she is not interested in it, poor little thing.
Anyway thanks all for your concern, glad to hear your dog is showing signs of getting better DSB.
Must go and get on with some work OH making signs at me

We had to empty our caravan out a couple of weeks ago when it went for its service. Everything was put in out front sitting room so today we are going through everything to put things back in. Wind break outdoor table and other summer kit will be going in the shed as we won't be using them on our winter trips. When I emptied out SWMBO cupboard in the van I found what can ony be described as a "library" of books I wouldn't mind but l can't remember any trip we have been away when she has actually read a book . There is no way they are all going back in well thats what I'm saying at the moment but I think she agrees with me.

Francis, if she's agreeing with you then I would get it in writing.

. I share your anger.
Miserable day here today. We managed to get a short walk in this morning but just got back to the house before the heavens opened. Freezing cold as well. Have been sorting out our photos from this last year to decide what we want printing. Goodness we've taken some rubbish this year.
Big cull!
ps Well done Millie.

Poor little cat tammygirl. Some people get pets for all the wrong reasons 😤. But then I think some have babies for all the wrong reasons as well. She is obviously not right. Good for you for letting her stay at yours for a bit.
I hope all goes well for you this week.brue. It is a difficult thing to do. Our thoughts are with you.
I was on Welcomer duty this morning. It has gone a bit quiet but we did have the rehersal for the pre school nativity play which was delightful. The actual play is next Tuesday so I am really looking forward to that. We went to a talk about the Arts and Crafts movement at our Museum Soc this evening which was excellent. So much information. We have a window designed by Rosetti and made by William Morris in the Cathedral😊
