How's your footy team doing?

So sad to see Huddersfield & Bristol Rovers had a horrid Saturday but hope that 'Forest keep that clean sheet at least ( But winning 1 -- 0 after 11 mins so far ).
Would have suggested you take advice and guidance from Crewe A but that would be rather cheeky I reckon.

Don't say that OP, some of us would see Mid Table as a reasonable but distant target .
But I do have to admit that the Alex regularly turn out with up to EIGHT or NINE Crewe academy trained players on the pitch at the start of a league match, so they have not junked the long term Club targets despite the trials & tribulations of being a financially embarrassed Club.

One. Which team are you posting about?

Thanks for the reply. I am a Leeds man and the top of the Championship is up and down like a yoyo! Wonder how it will end up. The Canaries have done very well after everybody writing them off.

Steven Gerrard is going along quite nicely. If Rangers splash out on the players he wants then I think he might do well.

I'm getting a bit twitchy now. Six hours to kick off and I think this is a " must win" match tonight.
This match could define our season. Mind you I've spoken to a few supporters who wouldn't see a return to the Championship as the end of the world.
Come on you Terriers

Good luck for tonight's match, Rog, as you say, it's a must win one, but definitely winnable.
Manchester derby next Sunday, and I'm getting twitchy already.....
A bit off topic, but what do CT footy fans think about Wayne Rooney playing in the upcoming England friendly game....🤔

Sorry I didn't post earlier. I was home too late after the match on Monday and yesterday I had to drive down to rescue my eldest from A&E in Leicester take her home to Lincolnshire and look after her last night. I've just got back from retrieving her car from Leicester, and driving home, having spent most of the day at the fracture clinic at QMC in Nottingham.
But yes a hard fought 3 points and I thought they'd finally scored a home goal only for the dubious goals panel to give it as an own goal.
One of these days Town will win by more than a single goal and I'll have some fingernails left!

ps. My view on the Rooney situation is this; by all means let him walk out at half time and receive some kind of tribute but he shouldn't be in the squad.

With respect to your final point, Pliers :--
Before the World Cup & similar competitions came along we only had "The Home Championships" and Friendlies. Now there are almost League - like tournaments with the so called warm up matches before them. The Friendly against the U.S.A. is, I believe, intended to boost the attraction of football ( Soccer as the Yanks call it ) and bolster the Charity sponsored by Wayne Rooney which bears his name. If it succeeds in doing those things I'd not have any qualms about selecting the man, he's too proud to want to look a pillock on the pitch I think.

Well we actually scored a goal at home and by one of our own players.unfortunately we couldn't get the win over the line but a draw will have to do. In the corresponding match last season we lost 4-1 so that's a vast improvement

WeLl, despite providing a kennel and food for the ref's guide dog today, Rovers still had to battle with 10 men to avoid that "concentrating on the league" feeling. Should have had a pen as well and hit the woodwork 3 times in the second half. Still, we live to fight (not literally, Stuart!) Another day. And as Mrs M says "it's only a game" (what?!! )
